Summary: Make Smoothies @ Home Just Like The Pro's!
Review: Dan Titus, popularly known as "The Smoothie Man", is chief banana peeler of The Juice and Smoothie Association and president of Jucie Gallery, a multimedia publishing firm. Dan has created the "bible" of all smoothie books with, Smoothies! The Original Smoothie Book - Recipes From the Pro's.

This book defines the smoothie by the players who are the Juice & Smoothie Industry. Dan is a nutritional advocate and author of several books about the juice and The Juice & Smoothie Bar Industry Analysis and The Smoothie Kiosk Business Plan. He is also editor of The Juice Review, which is a companies like Jamba Juice, Crazy Carrot, Juice It Up!, Juice Stop, Planet all part of the whimsical trend know as the Juice & Smoothie Industry.

Each of the companies mentioned above contributed some of their own special recipes for this book. That's right! make smoothies at home just like the pro's, using some of the same recipes that are on the menu in these famous juice/smoothie stores!

There are new "smoothie" books popping up in books stores every day; however none possess the wealth of knowledge that Dan brings to the subject of smoothies.

Highlights history about the juice & smoothie biz This book defines what a comprehensive book ever written about smoothies ever published!

Drink this book...

...Get healthy; stay healthy with this book!

Summary: Tried Them All
Review: Hi my name is Trevor. I am a smoothie fanatic! I bet I have every smoothie book ever written in my collection. But, NONE compare to, Smoothies! The Original Smoothie Book - Recipes From the Pro's, by Dan Titus.

If you are looking for REAL smoothie recipes that are the kind made in REAL juice bars, I highly recommend this book. Mr. Titus not only includes industry recipes, he also includes a history of the juice and smoothie business.

Dan Titus, thank you for writing such a work of art!

Summary: Nonalcoholic Beverages Make Spring Break a Blast!
Review: Hi, Jessie "Smooth" Johnson here... Take it from a smoothie NUT. I have all the smoothie books on the planet. This is the only book creates and delivers the goods. I took it to Palm Springs over spring break. Everyone kept saying, "How did you do this. These smoothies taste just like the ones I buy at home". Now they call me Jessie "Smoothie". Maybe I should open my own smoothie store!

Summary: Good Read, Great Recipes
Review: I bought Smoothies! The Original Smoothies Book: Recipes form the Pros, a couple of years ago. I use it all the time. When I heard that there was another book in the series out, I got it fast because I love smoothies!
I found the information about the juice business to be very interesting and I love the tasty new recipes. Kudos to the low-carb, soy-based smoothie recipes. Very different and fun!
Now buy the book! - addicted smoothie lover...

Summary: Very cool!
Review: I got mine used, which made it even sweeter than the smoothies contained in it! Go for it! It is chock full of interesting info. One of the downsides is its inconsistency to list servings as ounces. Sometimes it lists grams, other times ounces. It doesn't sound like much of a problem, it is a bit annoying to me. But again, go for it!

Summary: I'm not as enthralled as the others
Review: I have a few problems with this book. It's sold as a book of smoothie recipes. While recipes make up about fifty percent of the book, the other fifty percent is filled with worthless (to me anyhow) information to up the page count.

The first third of the book is consumed by the history of the smoothie and profiles of some of the smoothie chains. Several of the author's other publications deal with the business end of the smoothie business. I don't know why he chose to incorporate it into a book for consumers. If this is something you're interested in, I'm sure it's a good read. I skipped it.

The next half of the book (give or take a few pages) is the recipe section. This is where the book shines. If they were to rip out the front and back sections of the book and leave only the middle, I'd have given it a five star ranking. The recipe's are fantastic. Several books I've read have had unrealistic expectations of what to find in a home refrigerator. Not this one. You don't need to own a Maui Wowie franchise to make these drinks. A fair number of the recipes were contributed by the shops profiled in the front of the book as well as companies like Dole.

The rest of the book is wasted on about ten blank pages for notes, an index and an appendix with such need to know information as what kind of ingredients to use to help scurvy, how to contact the World Health Organization and metric conversion tables.

My recommendation to the publishers is to pull out the recipe section, put them in a spiral bound book (so the pages stay open when it's layed flat)and sell it for ten bucks instead of sixteen.

If you don't mind a recipe book that's only fifty percent recipe's, you won't be disappointed with this product.
