Summary: even very inspiring for the profeesionel cook
Review: I love the book from Jack Bishop a lot. Vegetarian cooking does not always get the attention it deserverves. This book is filled with excellent recipies, all very tasty and easy to prepare. It's a joy to have, even for a professionel cook , awarded with one michelin star

Summary: Versatile, easy to follow, a winner
Review: I use this cookbook all the time. It has a wide array of easy to follow recipes which just happen to call for the types of ingredients that I have on hand. There are even recipes that use cabbage and squash, mystery vegetables to me. I ordered this book and Vegetarian Fast Food. Vegetarian Fast Food was useless, but I use The Complete Italian Vegetarian Cookbook at least 3 or 4 times a week, with equally fast results.

Summary: my secret
Review: i was going to say that this was my own private secret cookbook that no one knows about. but clearly this is not the case. this is quite simply a great cookbook. i'm slowly working my way from cover to cover, and the recipes are great. but i have one caution, a few other reviews state that these are low-fat recipes, and there are low fat ones in here, but many of them contain up to a quarter cup of olive oil, leading to the rich and wonderful sauces italian cooking is famous for, but are probably not low fat, even without the meat. you can usually cut down if you need to, but you won't get the same kind of flavor.

Summary: What a Winner!
Review: I'd rank this book number one in my extensive library of vegetarian cookbooks. The recipes have elegance, great taste, and are easy to follow. I prepared a Mother's Day feast from this book and the relatives are still raving about it. My next step? Buy more Jack Bishop books. If they are just half as good as this one, I'll be happy.

Summary: Excellent, easy, and useful
Review: I've had trouble using cookbooks in the past, because either all the recipes I tried never came out as expected, or the ingredient proportions always seemed off, or they were too time-consuming. However, this one has been a pleasure to use. The only regret is that I wish there were more cream-based pasta sauces, or at least one. Loved the soups (particularly the pasta e fagioli and the swiss chard and spinach with lemon parsley pesto), the two mushroom orecchiette, and have yet to get to the rest of the chapters.

Summary: Wonderful Italian Cookbook
Review: I've never tried a recipe in this cookbook that didn't turn out wonderfully. It is one of my favorite and most commonly used cookbooks!

Summary: Exquisite
Review: Jack Bishop reveals himself as a culinary genius when it comes to flavorful vegetarian cooking. Not many of the various cookbooks I own deserve a five star rating, but this one definitely ranks in the upper echelons. The recipes provide full-flavored and well-rounded meals by drawing on very short shopping lists. Bishop has made me one very happy vegetarian who always comes back to his book to discover some new, exciting flavors. I can recommend this cookbook without any reservations to anyone.

Summary: Simple, healthy recipes for people who love Italian food.
Review: More and more people want to eat vegetarian meals, either exclusively or part-time. Italian food is a natural ally. The dishes we all love--pastas, pizzas, risottos, soups, and sandwiches--are the building blocks for comforting, easy-to-prepare vegetarian meals. My book will show you how to turn supermarket staples into satisfying meals that require modest effort in the kitchen.

Summary: Top Notch Italiano!
Review: My mom's side ofthe family is Italian (not vegetarian mind you) and last year I convinced them to come to our house for Christmas dinner....they were skeptical but we pulled it off and this cookbook was a great help! There are so many delicious recipes, all very gourmet in flavor and taste yet mostly not too tough to make. We had rvilois as the main dish (my grandmother's secret recipe) but then I pulled in the rest almost all from here. We had a great sauteed zucchini with lemon and mint, cannellini beans with tomatoes, sage and garlic. There are all sorts of other great recipes too - pasta dishes, beans, salads, soups, etc. Everything I've tried has been good and has been true to itlian flavors. I love to use Balsamic vinegar and there is a great (easy) recipe for penne with tomoatoes, rosemary and balsamic vinegar. I love thus book - really glad to have it on hand.
