Summary: Quick to prepare, delicious recipes
Review: I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered this cookbook, but it turned out to be a great investment! I've tried nearly thirty recipes from Lemlin's book and they are all wonderful, as well as easy to prepare. Some other vegetarian cookbooks turn out tasteless meals, but not this cookbook. Instead, Lemlin relies on easily found flavor enhansors, like Wasabi, or soy sauce, or even just good-old garlic to boost flavor and boy, does it work!

My family especially enjoyed the recipes for the vegetarian barbeque... who knew it could be so good?! She's got great sandwich and salad ideas, too, as well as main dishes that are different from the standard vegetarian fare. The whole family loved the meals from Lemlin's cookbook - yummy dishes! Thumbs up and Bon Appetit!

Summary: I've cooked nearly 75% of the recipes...fun & easy!
Review: I would have given this 5 stars, except that occasionally the recipes aren't so quick and some are a little high in fat. For example, if you decide to choose brown rice for a recipe, that takes 45 minutes to cook (so it isn't really quick.) Some of the desserts skyrocket with fat. If you know how to do subsitutions and/or if you don't mind going a little crazy occasionally, they have ALL been delicious so far. My hubby frequently asks for repeats of his favorites.

Summary: Thumbs up from a meat eater
Review: I'm not a vegetarian, but with recipes this great, who cares? My mom had this cookbook, and it was so terrific that I had to get one for myself. I have made most of the recipes, and not one has ever disappointed me. The author really pays attention to herbs, spices, and flavor combinations, with the result that everything tastes great. BONUS: It's super easy to add meat to most of these recipes. For the stir-frys, I just cube some chicken or peel some shrimp and throw it in with the veggies. The vegetable couscous on page 133 is to die for (and it was great when I added lamb to it, too).

Summary: Excellent!
Review: I'm not even a vegetarian, and I love this book. There are many of Lemlin's dishes that are special enough for entertaining, and, as promised, they really are quick to fix. She doesn't fall into the exotic ingredient trap, either - one trip to the supermarket will do ya. I usually check cookbooks out from the library before I purchase them, and this one passed the test!

Summary: The BEST vegetarian cookbook
Review: I've bought many cookbooks and this is without a doubt the best. Lemlin doesn't use any fancy terms and you can get all the ingrediants at your local supermaket. Also, check out her other book "Main Course: Vegetarian Pleasures" The vegetarian enchiladas are my favorite!

Summary: Buy this book!
Review: Jeanne Lemlin is not only a great cook, she is a great recipe writer. This book is consistently good, from appetizers to desserts. Her desserts are especially delicious. I've made tons of recipes from this cookbook and there have only been two or three that weren't absolutely delicious. I've served many of her dishes to all sorts of people, to conservative eaters to adventurous ones, and everybody likes them. The only problem is that her recipes are fairly fattening but you can easily reduce the fat content by employing the usual tricks.

Summary: A MUST !!!
Review: This book has some of my favorite recipies and I'm not even a strict vegetarian (yet...). As the title promises, all of the recipies I have tried have been both quick and pleasurable. Buy it and you won't be dissapointed.

Review: This book is great for the guy that is not a cook, yet wants to try and eat a little healthier.

Summary: one of the best cookbooks i have ever used
Review: This book is one of the best cookbooks I have ever used and I am not a vegetarian. Every recipe I have made (at least 40) has been not only easy but phenomenal tasting. I never notice that I am not eating any meat, because everything is so satisfying. I will soon have to buy another copy I use mine so much (at least twice a week). It is fabulous!!!
