Rating: Summary: well done fab 4 Review: well done man. this book is magic. everything is there. nothing is not. but well, the pieces play well together but if you compare it with the beatles original music, something still is not there. i dunno what. but still, VERYY WELLLLL DONEEE!!!!
Rating: Summary: FAB 4 FANTASTIC Review: OK, This is not a perfect translation of the best pop songs ever written. It is however pretty damn close. There are small micro details missed and some typo's. Other than those tiny problems, this book is damn near perfect. Remeber when we were young pups learning to play guitar? Those lame Beatle music books had all the wrong chords so trying to play along with the records was futile . This book corrects that problem and tries to teach us the correct way to play these songs. BUY THIS BOOK, PLAY ALONG, YEAH YEAH YEAH
Rating: Summary: They have to be The Beatles Review: ...When I saw anounced this book in here I think it was too expensive, but I read the recomendations and I found it very good. So I decided to buy it. Finally it arrive, and I FELL IN LOVE with it. It was just.....perfect. Has all the songs (exept Free as a Bird, and Real Love) And well, I think it has only the notes for guitar, but also has notes for the 2 guitars, the bass and drums. I mean you can make your own band. So it's the best inversion if you are a really fan of THE BEST BAND EVER.PS. They have to be THE BEATLES
Rating: Summary: Most useful item I own! Review: This book is great. Ive run into a few mistakes, but not enough for me to give this less than five stars. The fact that its handwritten gives it a great look. I'm obsessed with the Beatles, and if anyone else out there feels the same way they should buy this book. ... You should also probably know how to play an instrument.
Rating: Summary: Just What I've Always Wanted Review: All I have to say is kudos to the four transcriptionists. They have done something which most of us would not have the patience to do: sit down, listen and transcribe every instrument on every commercially released Beatles track from "Love Me Do" to "Her Majesty". It's just a pity this published before the "Beatles Anthology"--it would have been nice to have "Free As A Bird" and "Real Love" written out. I guess I just wish there were more compilations like this one. I've learned some really valuable things from this book. With the help of my music theory teacher (who also owns a copy) I've learned to read drum scores. I also am so pleased that I finally have Paul McCartney's bass lines tabbed out. In my opinion Paul can't be beat for straight forward pop/rock bass playing that keep things grooving. The stuff from RUBBER SOUL and ABBEY ROAD are the best.
Rating: Summary: Is the Hubble Telescope Included? Review: An unrivaled work, despite slight errors throughout. HOWEVER, it is unusable for playing (are you listening, publisher Hal Leonard?). I had the humiliating experience of being asked to leave a major photocopying chain for making enlarged copies - copyright infringement. Musicians, buy the book only if you want expensive filler for your bookshelf.
Rating: Summary: A worthy effort Review: I will say that an undertaking of transcribing all the Beatles songs is quite a difficult task. This book does a fairly decent job of getting things correct. 2 Complaints First ,the format makes it difficult in some cases, to read. I have ( or had prior to getting this book) good eyes, but I find myself squinting at many of the pages. I'd rather pay a little extra if this was in a larger format with bigger font. Second, If it says complete scores, then all the notes should be there, I have found many errors in just the first week that I have had this book, most notably in the bass parts. Look at "While my Guitar Gently Weeps" what is written sounds fine, but it's not what on the record. It is a fun book, but don't think you are getting complete accuracy, and be prepared for a little eye strain.
Rating: Summary: an extremely useful book Review: This book is an extremely useful book (as i have stated in my title..).It can be use by both serious and not seious players.you can strum the chords stated on top while singing, or simply play the song on your radio and play a part(e.g guita..piano) along with it. Though the print is EXTREMELY small, you can of course still see it though a magnifying glass will be very useful. Flipping the pages while playing the songs is another big problem.i would reccomend this book to people who would like to sing to beatles songs while playing the song it self and to groups who would like to play beatles songs and be the second beatles.
Rating: Summary: Great content, poor format Review: While I really like the content, it's quite apparent that the book needs to be bigger, i.e., larger page size. In order to fit everything (vocal, piano, guitar tab for three guitars etc.)on one 8x11 page, the guitar tab is bordering on microscopic. I need the Hubble telescope to read it which really detracts from its usefulness. I can't believe they would make it this small. I'm sure most of those who bought it would have gladly paid more to get it in a useful size.
