Rating: Summary: He Got Mojo Filter!! Review: Sure there are inaccuracies. (wrong guitar tunings, muffed lyrics). Some instruments are even mis-identified but the authors have worked a miracle in getting ALL their official releases transcribed. For guitar players like me this book is straight from heaven. For the other gripers here I say Have You Got Something Better? No, you don't.The various guitar fills and licks are ALL there. There are details that I, a 20 year Beatle listener had never noticed myself. If you are a musician and love the Beatles, buy this book!!
Rating: Summary: sketches, not "scores"; still useful; still recommended Review: This is filled with inaccuracies and sketchy. I don't doubt the transcriber labored much, but a work such as this requires a team of transcribers comparing versions, some basic research, and--most important--careful editing. It is the responsibility of the publisher to make sure its books are what it claims they are. This is a collection of sketches, not of scores. Compare this transcription of "Eleanor Rigby" with George Martin's score printed (in part) in his "All You Need is Ears". George Martin probably keeps a library of his Beatle arrangements. Why didn't the publisher contact him? The frequent and often nonsensical mangling of lyrics is inexcusable. Compare the clarinet rhythms on the recording of "When I'm 64" to what is mis-notated here. Listen to "Blackbird": that's not a bass drum; that's McCartney tapping his foot. I could go on. Also recommended: PENTATONIC SCALES FOR THE JAZZ-ROCK KEYBOARDIST by Jeff Burns.
Rating: Summary: Impressive Transcriptions, Teeny-Tiny Print Review: I agree with all the other glowing reviews here; the transcriptions are almost all first-rate. After going through some of the arrangements, I have a new appreciation for the Beatles' musical craftsmanship in putting their songs together. However, I did find the printing rather difficult to read because of the publisher's choice of page size and the use a font that makes 7's and 9's almost indistinguishable from each other. It's a real eye test. Just something to consider if your eyesight is anything like mine.
Rating: Summary: best transcription of anything, ever Review: I have never seen any transcription of music better or more complete. A must have for musicians who are Beatles fans.

Rating: Summary: An incredible resource! Review: Wow...to finally see the correct picking pattern for "Blackbird", and to learn that my "by ear" version of "Here Comes The Sun" is correct after all...what a book.
Rating: Summary: Good resource Review: Excellent work by the author. It must be said, however, that there are instrumental parts missing, and also many of the transcriptions are inaccurate. Nevertheless, this is a good resource.
