Summary: A five-star satire
Review: Al Franken is not writing a serious argument; Limbaugh practically ridicules himself, and the amount of research Franken did is apparently limited to listening to Limbaugh's show for a few months and writing down some the most insane things he said. Many of the Limbaugh quotes, he explains, were hunted down with a primitive version of Google.

The rest of the book is an extremely well-done satire of Limbaugh's "style" of speaking and writing, including the fat jokes (which satirize Limbaugh's propensity for /ad hominem/ attacks), interjected biographies, idiotic suggestions to reduce the national debt, and some advertising (Franken explains this himself).

If you're looking for a good laugh and don't mind the easy target, try this book.

Summary: pretty funny
Review: a work that gets this many people riled cannot be as bad as they say it is. While not as substantial as TSOG by RAW, this book is witty, humorous in Franken's unique style and about ten thousand dollars more valuable than anything Limbaugh has ever said or written.

The difference between Franken and Limbaugh is that with Franken you are laughing WITH him.

Summary: Liberal rhetoric best used for toilet paper
Review: Al Franken is about as entertaining as watching fellow liberal Dan Rather interview Saddam Hussein. I have the cure for all insomniacs - read this farce of a book and you'll be cured instantly!

And to think he's getting his own radio show to combat "The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy" of talk radio - Ha! It'll last about as long as Mario Cuomo's did. This book is an abominably ill-fated attempt at humor. It's unfathomable how the Left view him as their resident comedic genius - despite being nothing more than a...iberal zealot with an infinitesimal amount of talent.

Summary: Don't waste your money!
Review: This is a funny book. If you want a laugh or just hate Rush this is the book for you. But the book is nothing but junk. It sould be titled "How To Make Money By Being Stupid". ...

Summary: What Ever Happened To Al Frankin?
Review: I have only one word for Al Frankin as a comedian and author:

Bronx Cheer aka Raspberry.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A very very funny book.
Review: A great counter to the big fat idiot El Rusho. The one drawback is that Mr. Franken does not go into detail about how El Rusho dodged the draft and was on welfare for awhile. Other than that, it is very very funny!...

Summary: Typical liberal name-calling coupled with failed satire
Review: Al Franken's attempt at humorous satire falls flat because it is obvious he has a real axe to grind. An ordinarily talented comedy writer, Franken cannot disguise his loathing for Limbaugh. The title says it all. The only people that get a laugh from this book are fellow liberals that hate conservatives. Rush must indeed be doing a good job of exposing liberal nuttiness if he has irritated Franken to the point of writing this sorry excuse for a satire. Methinks the author IS HIMSELF what he calls Rush. And my guess is that Rush is laughing all the way to the bank with the additional free advertisement. Stick to short comedy skits Al, and restrict your political hate satire to the New York leftist cocktail parties you attend. :)

Summary: Brilliant.
Review: Franken has found a way to attack those who disagree with him, but instead of resorting to demonizing he is armed with facts.

The tacticts Rush and his other talk show host buddies resort to are no more than attacking the word liberal. Put "compassion fascist" infront of "liberal" eventually some will buy it. Franken does the opposite. Now that you are saying to yourself the book makes fun of Rushes weight is that not personal attack. It is most definatly a personal attack, but this book is about irony. Frankens personal attacks directed at Rush point out the tactics Rush himself employs.

Rush's game is exposed in the newest edition where Franken points out that Limbaugh never once mentioned Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot and Other Observations on air. I have yet to figure out why anyone would take Limbaugh seriously when the man will not face his critics.

And a word about those bitter people who give bad reviews of this book. It seems like their only point is that Frankens other work, SNL etc, was not funny to them. FACE THE FACTS Al Franken is right.

Summary: Al Franken is a Big, Fat, Sorry Excuse of a Comedian
Review: This book is just another attempt to revive his lame career in the entertainment business. Al Franken is about as funny as watching grass grow. Anyone see Stuart Saves His Family? What a piece of ... that was. Al Franken was never funny on Saturday Night Live, has never made a funny movie or written a funny book. Give it up Al, you ..., whenever your stupid bit was on SNL, everyone changed the channel. If all you have is your stupid Stuart Smalley character, you are truely pathetic. Your impersonations on SNL ... too.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I think Al Franken is a comedic genius
Review: After reading the 'biography' of Saturday Night Live however, you get the feeling that maybe he's not the fun loving easy going guy that he seems.

I still love his work however, and would recommend this book whole heartedly. On the other hand, while I'm willing to fawn over Mr. Franken, I would not recommend "Oh the things.."
