Rating: Summary: Fun and informative at the same time. Review: I found the book contained excellent advice and the best system of playing craps ever invented. I also enjoyed the sections on the nature of probability. This book is a winner and it could help others be a winner too.
Rating: Summary: Great Triple Play for Craps Players Review: I have just finished reading Frank Scoblete's three craps books: Beat the Craps Out of the Casinos, The Captain's Craps Revolution, and Forever Craps. I have been a craps player for over twenty-five years but I never really read that much after my initial few books. Over the course of twenty-five years I have lost a lot of money, as I played the worst possible bets and I would chase my losses.Scoblete's three books have been a revelation as well as a revolution in my thinking. Step-by-step he builds from one book to the other a method of play, a mind set, and a money management plan that is far and away the best I have ever heard of. I think reading the books in the order in which they were written, as above, is the key to really understanding Scoblete's insights and recommendations. By the time you get to Forever Craps, you will be ready to tackle the first "positive-expectation" craps approach. That approach requires discipline and full utilization of all the ideas that Scoblete has put forth in his wonderful books. I recommend you buy all three at the same time. Think of this as a "going to college" expense. Once you have your degree, which means once you thoroughly understand Scoblete's principles of play, you will find the time and money you spent ataining that degree will be returned many fold.
Rating: Summary: Best Craps Book Ever Review: I have read several books by Scoblete on craps and other games and they were all excellent. But I think this is his most intense analysis of systems to beat craps. It is definitely his best book on craps. There is very advanced material in this book and I hae now read it three times. Even though the price of the book is rather high, in this case you get what you pay for! I think anyone with the least interest in attempting to win at craps will want to have this book.
Rating: Summary: Will Go Over the Heads of Many Review: I have to admit that this book does take some care in the reading of it. If you are the average craps player who's just looking to throw his money away on a "good time" many of the ideas and attitudes expressed by the author, Frank Scoblete, will go sailing over your head. if you have played craps and have been consistently losing and you want to change that situation, then give careful consideration to the ideas in this book. They will save you money AND give you a chance to win. The book is a work of genius but it isn't for everyone. Fools won't understand the importance of the 5-Count and idiots won't think the Captain knows what he's talking about. True craps players and thinking craps players will find the information in this book to be a revelation!
Rating: Summary: Great Winning System Review: I like this book very much because it presents an excellent system for hanging in there as you wait for the hot roll. Since buying this book from Amazon.com I have actually won money at craps. Scoblete is a fine writer and this book is excellent. The systems described in the book do take discipline and not everyone will be able to follow them or understand the principles behind the Captain's ideas. But for those who do I think you will find that like me you are beginning to win too!
Rating: Summary: Scoblete is the Master Review: I loved this no nonsense book. It goes into detail concerning the various strategies of the Captain, the legendary Atlantic City craps player. This is one book that craps players must read and reread as it contains extremely valuable information and advice. And once you read this I suggest you listen to Scoblete's tape "Sharpshooter Craps." The two are a very powerful one-two punch.
Rating: Summary: certainly not worth $ Review: I read Scoblete's book on Roulette and was impressed with his knowledge. So, I bought this book expecting more of the same intelligent advise. But this book reads like something you would get from a systems seller. Not only do I think most of the advise is nonsense, but there are spelling errors and typos throughout the book. I don't know about you, but when I pay $ for a book I expect that the author took some care with it. I don't reccomend this book.
Rating: Summary: Great No Nonsense Book Review: I really enjoyed this book. It is the second in a series of books by Frank about craps and follows up closely on what he wrote about in "Beat the Craps Out of the Casinos", his first book. The third in the series is "Forever Craps" which was published in 2000. Scoblete discusses the 5-Count indepth and he also goes into several variations of the supersystem. I also enjoyed his section on "don't" betting although I won't play the "wrong" side of the game. This is another well-written, well thought-out, well-executed book by a very talented author.
Rating: Summary: Great Book for Advanced Players Review: I would not recommend this book to people who have never played craps as it doesn't explain the rudiments of the game. However, for those players who have read Scoblete's first craps book, Beat the Craps Out of the Casinos, this is the natural followup. It goes into the five count indepth, explains variations of the captain's Supersystem and discusses other areas not covered in the first book. It is well written and should be read if you want a deeper understanding of the game.
Rating: Summary: Solid Advice Review: I've been playing craps for years and The Captain's Craps Revolution came as a revelation. I am a firm believer in the methods advocated by Scoblete in this book because they work! The test of any system is how it actually performs in the casino and the 5-Count and supersystem perform for me. I recommend this book highly.
