Summary: The Must HAVE book in Conjuring!
Review: This book is a good introduction to the common sleights of hand, which I'm still learning. It makes magic magazines much easy to understand also.

Summary: Sleights not Tricks
Review: This book is exactly what it says "lessons in sleight of hand", and for that purpose alone is a brilliant book, and a must-have for any aspiring conjurer.

What the book does not give are lessons in how to use most of the sleights taught to perform tricks. As any performer can tell you, presentation is at least half if not most of performing. For example, just knowing the steps doesn't make you a dancer.

True there are a (very) few full tricks included in the text, but this book would best be used as a companion book with some other that focused less on prestidigitation, and more on presentation, patter, and performance.

That being said, the authors do a fantastic job explaining and displaying the sleights, and buying this book was money well spent.

Summary: Notes on book
Review: This book is very detailed in its wording and illustrations. It has views from the audience and from you. The book contains illustrations almost every step of the way. You will become more advanced and more confident after reading and doing lessons from the book. Prepare to mystify your friends when you by this great book!

Summary: Almost Like Watching a Video!
Review: This book is widely considered to be the easiest-to-use, most clearly written instruction manual on sleight of hand techniques. The illustrations are so good, and so numerous, that it is almost like watching a video. Extremely well done, and quite a bargain! We highly recommend this book to all of our MagicTricks.Com customers.

Summary: Not for anyone with significant ability
Review: This book looks very helpful for those just starting to learn sleights, and appears to cover the major areas (coins, cards, balls, and cigarettes). However, it's directions are slightly confusing and its illustrations are not as clear as they could have or should have been. It's also lacking in teaching presentation and performance. It is not completely bad, however it is also not the first book that I would recommend to people wishing to become sleight of hand artists. If you were purchasing several books on sleight of hand this would be appropriate to include, but otherwise stick to the Dover series on magic (Modern Coin Magic by JB Bobo, The Encyclopedia of Card Tricks and Advanced Card Manipulations by Huegard, The Art of Magic by JB Bobo, and generally any book published by Dover Publishing Inc).

Summary: This is a great book but don't expect many tricks!
Review: This is a great book for any beginner magicians! What the book focus on is SLIGHT OF HAND! Such as using your hand to vanish coins, hide cards, fanning cards,... and so on. The book is very easy to understand because every slight of hand is presented with pictures and the pictures are easy to follow! One disappointment about this book is that it only goes over the basic of slight of hand. An example would be there are 20 ways to shuffle a deck of cards, but this book only lists 4! Another fault I find in this book is that the way the "Pass" (a name of a slight of hand) was presented was not very clear. Beginner might have trouble understand what Bill was trying to convey. Overall, this is one of the better magic book out there!

Summary: Great book
Review: This is a great book. It uses pictures to show the steps. It is logical and it explains everything in good detail. One great addition to this book is that each sleight is graded from one to three stars for difficulty. I would buy this book again.

Summary: The classic book on slight of hand!
Review: This is more than a book. I recomend this book to everyone who asks me how to get started in magic. I keep all of Bill Tarrs books handy because I know of no other author in magic who makes the subject so clear and understandable. Even with over twenty years of performing slight of hand I can still find new things in this book.

Summary: The Must HAVE book in Conjuring!
Review: This is the best magic book I have ever bought. I gave it 5 stars because it really deserves it. Throught it you can learn very cool and baffling tricks as well as the principles used in "high magic". The drawings are excellent and the instructions are very well written...just buy it!
