Summary: Unprecedented fun.
Review: Maze is a must for all puzzle-lovers. The only one of the prize/puzzle books from the eighties (Masquerade, The Treasure, the unnamed book, etc.) to remain unsolved to this day! Hypertext has never been so papery. If any one has the solution e-mail me immediately.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: better than your ordinary maze book
Review: Most mazes grow tiring after a few minutes. Maze, by Christopher Manson, puts you in the maze at eye level. You will get lost. This is no abstract adventure. Follow clues and enjoy the scenery. The best maze on paper!

Summary: MADNESS!!!!!
Review: My GODS people, this book is insane. I've owned it for two years now. Why haven't I gotten around to writing a review yet? BECAUSE I'VE BEEN WORKING ON IT THIS WHOLE TIME. Still haven't figured out the Riddle of the Maze, let alone the solution. Getting to the center is a delightfully maddening experience, provided you don't CHEAT and actually follow the clues. If you like driving yourself into a manic-depressive state with incredibly difficult puzzles GET THIS BOOK. GET IT NOW.

Summary: nice but ... no answers
Review: The format of this book is interesting: each numbered page is a room. The reader's goal is interesting: find the path from the first room to the 45th room and back. The text follows a person (the narrator) guiding a small group of visitors around the maze-building. The drawings are all pen & ink (no color). The task & setup are fun, but ...

Here are my issues: (1) The narrator is a bit nasty -- nothing unsuitable for young children, but certainly not pleasant. (2) You absolutely MUST solve at least one riddle to find a path from room 1 to room 45. (3) There is no way to know whether you have found the correct answer to a riddle -- or for that matter, the shortest path.

My daughter & I have enjoyed reading this book together. It was intersting & fun. You'll enjoy it more if you aren't expecting a 5-star book.

Summary: A remarkable and unusual book
Review: This book amazed me when it first came out. The great illustrations, the accompanying narrative, and, of course, the puzzle itself, combine to produce an atmosphere that's seldom seen in your more pedestrian works. Even someone who's not particularly into riddles, puzzles or mazes will likely find this book fascinating.

Summary: It's a great book that tests your patience and intelligiance
Review: this book is absolutely incredible, i love it, however, it is next to impossible and i can't figure it out. It has kept me entertained for hours already, if you have any information about the puzzle please fill me in.

Summary: W.O.W.
Review: This book is amazing. I bought it to give to my nephew at Christmas, needless to say it is still on my coffee table. I can't figure it out. Other people who come by our house and see it...can't figure it out. I have been left in the dark only once..dead end there. And I get turned around and around in a group of rooms that I can't find another way out. It is a maddening book! Too much fun though.

Summary: Yes, there is a solution!
Review: This book is fantastic. Don't be fooled by those who give the book a bad review on the assumption that there is no solution. Speaking as someone who solved the puzzle, and had the solution confirmed by the publisher, I can guarantee that there is a solution. The solution does not come easily, though; this is a very challenging puzzle -- a must for puzzle fans. Just stay out of Room 24!

Summary: It gets under your skin
Review: This book is great if you like the kind of puzzle that will make you think. Hard. It's very cruel of the publisher to label it a children's book; I've never been able to solve it on my own and I'm 24. (If you can't take it any more, there are solutions out there on the internet.) It's beautifully illustrated, deeply involving, and thoroughly irritating.
