Summary: Give me a break
Review: This is a prime example of another gaming company making an extra buck off of the fans. At best, the Monstrous Manual and the Monstrous Compendium are equal. But how is the Manual a good tool if you can't remove your monsters for easy play. Another downside to the Manual is that you can't add monsters to it as they "come out". With the three ring system you had this ability. The best thing the Monstrous Manual can be used for is to make an extra buck for TSR.

Summary: Exellent Illustrations
Review: This is a very good book for making up adventures. It also is very good just to look at and research different monsters. It has some of the best pictures I have ever seen

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The most complete guide to monsters out on the market!!
Review: This is the most thorough reference on monsters I have ever seen. With the artwork and descriptions and the stats on all the creatures, it's easy to determine which monsters are fitted for the levels of the characters.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An essential for any ad&d DM
Review: This Montrous Manual has a good deal of monsters/races though it lacks in gods and goddesses. It is very confusing if you don't know what you're doing but it gets easier... way easier. And if your a fan of beholders and beholder-kin (like myself) this has 18 different types of them (not each and it only reviews 12 gives summariesof the last 6). Although it has the monsters it doesn't tell the treasure which I found kind of annoying at first.

Actually I don't HAVE the book, my grandpa does, but I'm highly considering buying this masterpiece of a monster manuel. Mostly because of the art, exact computation of the experience given and magic listed (and special abilities) and much more for each of the many and wonderfully exciting creatures that await it's creator to make and use at his/her glee. Heh...Heh...Heh...

Summary: Well Written, and essential for every AD&D Dungeon Master
Review: This product is a game necessity for a Dungeon Master(DM) of the Advanced Dundeons & Dragons (AD&D) Role-playing game. I would not recommend it for players whom never DM, it's not necessary, and it provides information players shouldn't have. For DMs the content of the book is excellent. More monsters and creatures than you'll ever need. Each beast is well discribed regarding appearance, habitat, life style, motivations, and several additional facts. I can not recomend this book enough. Anyone who is a DM or intends to be a DM, needs to have this book.

The only draw back of this book is the artwork. Most of it is quite good full color art, but I was hoping for excellence. The artwork isn't bad, but it does not live up to the excellence in the written context. That is the only reason this book receives a 4 star rating instead of a 5.

In summary, if you're a DM, get this book! If you just want read about weird and amazing ceatures, you'll enjoy this book. If you're an AD&D player who is looking to figure out how to beat the creature in your DM's latest adventure, stop trying to cheat.

Have fun and enjoy all the chaos AD&D has to offer. This book helps you do that!

Summary: monstrous manual
Review: This was one of the best products I have ever used. It has an incredible attention to detail and is complete in it's descriptions. This book is also exteremely easy to use as a DM. The information is provided in a clear way and is devided into intro, combat, habitat/society, and ecology. But even beond it's usefullness to a DM, I found myself reading this book for fun and enjoyment quite often. It has been around 4 or 5 years since i first bought this book and i still read it for enjoyment. I recomend this book to every DM everywhere. It is helpful, fun to read, and easy to use.
