Rating: Summary: A great read for anyone in need of a laugh Review: Some reviewers have said that many of the stories in this book are false. While some of them may not be true, they're still very funny. I read a quote in here from Robert Plant, the lead singer of Led Zeppelin that I found hilarious: "Toilets! Toilets! Toilets for Robert! Where are the toilets? Robert needs a toilet!" It does seem unbelievebable that anyone could be stupid enough to say that, but keep in mind that many rock musicians did drugs and drank a lot of alcoholic beverages. This book also provides a short biography of each band that they include, so if you're interested in rock history you'll find out a few things about how each band started out and you'll get lots of good laughs. If there's one bad thing about this book, it's the fact that it has caused me to lose respect for some of my favorite bands. Overall, I'd reccomend to this book to anyone, many people can appreciate the humor. A lot of the things in it are sex-related, so if you consider yourself to be a conservative person you might find this book somewhat offensive. Pre-teens are a little young to read this though, I think the earliest acceptable ages to read this would be 13-15.
Rating: Summary: Oh, the humanity! Oh, the hilarity! Review: The beauty of this book is it lets you witness the insanity of the rock star lifestyle without having to pay to consequences. I laughed out loud the whole way through.
Some of the low-rated remarks state that it is poorly researched. Even if some of the stories have been exagerated over the years, who cares? Some things become legendary for the better. They make for better tales. Would you rather the authors go on a mission to debunk any possibilities of embellishment? What a great book that would make.
In closing, if you like the wildness of Rock & Roll, you will love this book. Otherwise, I banish you to the land of John Tesh!
Rating: Summary: Funny but not much depth Review: The listing of the calamities of rock stars is funny, mostly because rock stars are some of the few adults that can get away with acting like drunk college students without consequences (and in fact, the more outrageous the behavior the more popular the rock star in many cases -- you don't get that in the insurance business. Sheldon bites the head off a bat and he's probably not going to go very far in Mutual Life's corporate ladder) and these are some of the funniest things that people can do. However, there's not enough depth. There are a few incidents and then its off to the next person. Many of the anecdotes are urban legends more than actual facts. The tone is a bit wearying, especially toward the middle with "gee, look at this idiot" for the 40th time. And the Spinal Tap references are a little strained (ok, I liked the movie too, but did you have to put it as one of the bands?) Pretty good book for light reading. Highly recommended for airline travelers.
Rating: Summary: Interesting, but gets a bit tedious Review: The theme here is drugs meshed with money. For almost all the "rockers" drugs are mentioned. Moser and Crawford have an array of musicians from Spinal tap to madonna and list birth dates, places of birth, some hit songs and films if applicable, dumb quotes and idiotic things they have done. I have to wonder about the authenticity of alot of the things, but then again money can be poison. It isnt a book for teens there is alot of sex, violence and drugs. It can be interesting, albeit embarassing for those listed. If there isnt a thing better to read, give it a whirl.

Rating: Summary: A Bathroom Book All The Way. Review: This book is a bit mean spirited at times, but still a lot of fun. Reading this book made me think "What were they taking?", after each silly quote and wacky anecdote. It's very quick to read and thoroughly entertaining. I also recommend "Hollywood Confidential" by Coral Amende.

Rating: Summary: not what it could have been Review: This compilation is mildly interesting and somewhat funny at times. Unfortunately, a lot of the facts about the bands/musicians are simply false and made me wonder if the funny anecdotes were just as poorly researched. This book promised more than it could keep
Rating: Summary: if god wanted me to become awoman then a woman i will become Review: this is a funny book. just buy it to laugh at the stupidest quotes ever said by musicians like if "if god wanted me to become a woman, then a woman i will become" Mick Jagger. Stupid stuff like that. its not just for stupid quotes but it also gives alot of artist info as well.
Rating: Summary: I laughed until my face hurt! Review: This is a great book. Not only is it funny, but it'd be a terrific gift for anyone you know who loves a good laugh. The quotes alone are worth getting it for.
