Summary: Close, but No Cigar
Review: Some aspects of this book can work, wheel bias for example, but by the time you chart a dealer, he's on break. I did win $80 in 12 hrs. Mr. S. is fun reading, and does make some excellent points, but none of the suggested systems will work for any period of time. I found a system that shows you are not just making bets, but rather competing with the skill of the dealer, and how to beat them. They show that roulette is not random at all which is what makes Mr. Scoblete's and any other systems I've tested nearly worthless. It is called Casino Secrets. Frank you could learn from them. Their secrets make all the difference in the world. It's nice to be a winner for a change.

Scoblete discusses the various strategies that have been traditionally used to beat the game and he explains why they don't work in the long run. Then he goes on to discuss various methods of play that can actually give the player the edge. Finally, Scoblete supplies his readers with more than 10,000 spins of real roulette wheels in order to test his and other systems. What sets Scoblete's book apart is it research and his ability to write an enjoyable book on what in the hands of others can be a very dull topic. This is a really first rate book.

Review: The author has a very readable and enjoyable style of writing. He does a great job of explaining the terrible-truth as to why all layout systems will fail in long-run play. But, he counters this with a very nice explanation of methods using wheel strategies, such as wheel-tracking and signature-tracking, that can actually work to overcome the house advantage.This book is very worthwhile reading to anyone who seriously wants to play roulette and actually win. I highly recommend it.

Summary: If It's Random You Can't Win, But If It Isn't You Can
Review: The reviewer from Malaysia didn't understand a fundamental princple of roulette. If the wheel is random there are NO WINNING SYSTEMS. Scoblete explains that in the book and takes a look at all the most popular betting systems that have been developed to beat the game. None work in the long run on random wheels as he shows clearly. However, this book does have winning strategies in it; and it does show how to maximize comps as well. You just have to realize that no reputable author is going to sell pie-in-the-sky winning systems for a random wheel. But Scoblete does the next best thing. He shows you techniques for discovering biases, dealer signatures, big numbers, sector shooters and the like. This is a really well written book and it has thousands of actual-roulette spins recorded so you can play your system without actually risking money. This is a great book.

Review: The two best roulette books around are this one and beating the Wheel by Russell Barnhart. Scoblete's book is overall the most comprehensive of any roulette book ever written and also a very enjoyable book to read. This is a must read for roulette players.

Review: This book helped me focus on methods that had a real chance to beat roulette, instead of methods that Scoblete calls "layout strategies" which don't have a chance. The book is very well written and well researched. I think you must have this book if you want a chance to win at roulette.
