Summary: Instant Success
Review: Wow! I love this book! I am not usually known for my (good) cooking, but the recipes in "How it all Vegan" have even my omnivor friends asking for more. There isn't a recipe I've tried that hasn't come out perfect. It's mouthwatering just thinking about it. I'm actually eating the ginger peanut soup from page 54 right now.

I've been a vegetarian for a long time and I thought the switch to veganism would be difficult and restrictive. On the contrary. With the wonderful recipes in this book, I have more food choices than ever. Do yourself a favor and order a copy.

Summary: no index, but still love the book
Review: I have a copy with no index which is incredibily infuriating, but I love the recipes and would highly recommend the cookbook. I just wish I had an index. I have used tabs and made my own chapter markers, but it's just not an index. How could that have been omitted?

Summary: If Only June Cleaver Could See This Cookbook...
Review: I think this has to be one of my favorite cookbooks of all time. Brand new vegans would find Sarah & Tanya's book especially informative--covers everything from hidden animal ingredients to what to make for that potluck next week to do-it-yourself cruelty-free bodycare. Also contains lots of familar veganized "comfort foods". And last--but not least--the retro punk-rock-chic layout is just so gosh darn cool...Let me tell you: my copy is totally covered in chocolate stains and the spine is about to break. That's always the sign of a good cookbook!

Summary: A wonderful book for anyone
Review: This book was a gift, and I just love it. It was given as my boyfriend and I were beginning a vegan lifestyle. It has been very informative and helpful! Not only yummy recipes, but also cosmetics, masks, and household cleaning items. Also treats for pets. This book has some especially yummy deserts and smoothies. A great book to have!

Summary: finally! a simple, practical vegan cookbook!
Review: I used to work in a bookstore, and I would constantly flip through the vegan cookbooks, but all of them had wacky recipes requiring all sorts of things I had never heard of... that they wanted me to simmer for hours! I don't have time for that!
Then one day, I stumbled upon 'how it all vegan'.
I found uncomplicated yummy recipes for everything I was looking for all in one convenient package...lasagna, pizza, chinese food, indian food, cake.. everything! there are even recipes for homemade veggie burgers, veggie milks, and condiments.
I love this book! love it, love it, love it!
Veganism is a hundred times easier with a great cookbook and reference book like this.

Summary: A DEFINITE MUST HAVE!!!!!!!
Review: I am a Vegan.
When I checked this book out from the local library I had no idea what it had in store. I am usually one of those people who can follow a recipe and still mess up a good meal. This book is amazing once you start cooking from it. It is beyound helpful and has just wonderful alternatives to eggs, butter and just pretty much any cooking or baking necessity.
There are recipes for whipped cream, a wonderful Lasagna and sooo much more. In the back of the book the two women have all the listings for animal-derived products which helps the new Vegan/Vegetarian to read and understand labels on products that can otherwise be very difficult and confusing!!!

There are recipes for making your own delicious dairy-free ice cream and I absolutely love Cootie's Coconut Cookies. The smoothie's are wonderful as well as main course meals (which are very simple).

If you love to be in the kitchen and enjoy all types of Vegan/Vegetarian foods you MUST have this book!!!! The foods are flavorful, easy to prepare (when you have all of the ingredients) and prepares the new as a well as the old Vegan/Vegetarian for a new world of tasteful adventures in the kitchen. It is nutriously educational. I have many Vegan/Vegetarian Cookbooks and I have to say this one tops them all.

Enjoy :)!!!!

Summary: Spiffy.
Review: This is the first vegetarian book I've bought. It's cool and helpful and all that, but the appendix is the scariest thing I've ever read. I'm afraid to move, quite frankly, without fear of killing a cow or two. Fortunately, the writers list alternatives for just about everything, so I think I'll be all right. For conscience-stricken vegetarians terrified of veganism, like me, this book totally works.

Summary: NOT Where It All Vegan
Review: Listen up! I'm a mother of three young children, all of a sudden veganized six months ago and had to start from scratch. I've purchased most of the vegan cookbooks and am now thinking of writting my own, quite frankly because I feel most of these books need new ground. This particular one gave me many, many unhappy memories with unsuccessful results. Even after many tries of a few of their recepies, they kept turning out a --disaster, and wasted ingredients and time. I believe their recepies are ok-- with a little adjustment. They seem to keep forgeting something from a few important ones (like whipped cream without tofu, and pumpkin pie without tofu). They sound good and ALMOST work. Like I said, if you can adjust it, it might work, if not, you're out of luck. In addition, the authors are quite young and child-less, at printing. They have a section about kidddie food, but don't give it much credence. The doggie biscuit, however, is very good. Give it a try- but the vegan Bible it is NOT! This aint where it all vegan.

Summary: Vegan thinking
Review: Just to clarify something the authors and other reviewers don't seem to know: "vegan" means abstaining from all animal products, not just food. This includes honey, leather, silk, wool, beeswax, gelatin, etc. Vegans make every effort not to spend a penny on any product that caused harm to any living being. We try to avoid rubber products which are processed on machines lubricated with animal fat. And we are constantly searching for hydraulic brake fluid which doesn't contain animal fat. (Let me know if anyone knows of any!) We are non-violent and compassionate.

"Vegetarian" means not consuming any animal products. The word has been corrupted by fat and lazy people who want to eat ice-cream, pancakes, fish, chicken, etc. so that now people think it's okay to eat those things as a "vegetarian". It isn't. The true meaning of vegetarianism has always been not to consume any animal products.

Summary: This book has changed my life!
Review: Now I didn't turn vegan overnight, but this book has helped me along with the process. The recipes are simple and taste great! You would like this book even if you aren't vegan. There's a section for childrens recipes with fun snacks and activities, a section that explains how to make natural household cleaners which are safer for your family and the environment! You wouldn't believe how much variety you can have with vegetables. And it's not just soy and granola, these two girls are amazing! The retro cover and theme throughout the book is what originally caught my eye, but it's truely a delightful read. I connected with the authors and the reasons they chose to become vegan. It's a great cookbook to have around, very informative and very fun!
