Rating: Summary: Book report for English teacher. Review: One Shot - One Kill talks about the history and development of the sniper division. Not that long ago, snipers were looked down upon before as being cowards because they hid. Yet over time people began to realize how desperately snipers were needed. So instead of like before just taking men who scored well on marksmanship men are now being trained in the art of sniping. The book tells the stories of some of the things that happened to veteran snipers. It gives you in depths look at the mind and happenings of a sniper.
I believe this was an all around good book, and highly recommend it to fellow readers of historical and military books. I recommend this book because when the men are telling there stories I almost feel as if I am there and am living it myself. It is well written and an easy read.

Rating: Summary: Disconnected and didn't hold my attention. Review: An attempted copy-cat of good books that have been out for quite some time. Would recommend reading In the Crosshairs by Michael Lanning, Sniper by Adrian Gilbert, and Dear Mom: A Sniper's Vietnam by Joseph Ward, over this book.
Rating: Summary: An Excellent Book from One who was there Review: An open letter to Chuck Sasser: This is truely an outstanding work of art. As one who has spent hours inside of himself, setting up the shot and waiting for the shot, this book is a unique look at the world from the sniper's eyes looking out. It made me smell the dampness, feel the insects crawling and biting, remember the cramped muscles from hours of laying in one position, and remember the last thing you ever see of the target - his eyes. A true work of art by a master story teller.
Rating: Summary: great book about sniping Review: Book covered many different accounts of sniping from nam to european snipers. Every chapter almost is about a snipers account. Great book all around. A must read for a sniper fan.
Rating: Summary: A Must Read Review: Both awesome and tragic. As close as you can come to crawling on your stomach for hours in the hot sun, tasting the grass, feeling the bites of ants while experiencing the thrill of hunting the enemy. You'll never regret reading this book.
Rating: Summary: A GOOD BOOK TO READ TO UNDERSTAND THE USEFULLNESS OF THE Review: ELITE SNIPERS IN ALL WARS. THEY WERE THE FORCE TO EVEN OUT THE PLAYING FILED IN VIETNAM. I REALLY ENJOYED THIS BOOK, WITH ALL THE REAL ACCOUNTS OF ACTUAL SNIPERS DAY BY DAY ON MISSIONS AND HOW SNIPER TRAINING ACTUALLY BEGAN. BUT IT DOES VEER OFF THE MISSION TOPICS, AND GOES INTO A HISTORY LESSON WICH REALLY BEGAN TO BORE ME, BUT THEN COMES ANOTHER MISSION. AND IT MIXED EACH WAR DURING THE BOOK TOO MUCH, HE SHOULD HAVE WENT THROUGH THE HISTORY EACH WAR LIKE A TIME LINE OF EVENTS (WARS) AS THEY HAPPENED AND HOW EACH SNIPER FROM THAT SPECIFIC WAR ACTED. WHITE FEATHER IS TO ME , IN THIS BOOK THE BEST SNIPER, BEST INTELLECT ON THE ART OF ONE SHOT ONE KILL AS IT SHOULD BE!
Rating: Summary: Definitely worth reading Review: Full of first-hand accounts and stories of military snipers at work with some interesting and informative history inserted in short chapters in between the stories. One section on the development of rifles and early existence of possible sniping concepts in the Revolutionary War era I found to be particularly fascinating. The stories in this book are detailed, and sometimes shocking. Definitely worth reading for those curious and interested about snipers.
Rating: Summary: An excellent copilation of sniper stories Review: Great book, liked the fact that it was about snipers in WWII, Korea, Nam, Beirut...gives an informative view from different wars....best stories were about Carlos N. Hatchcock.
Rating: Summary: essential and true to those who have lived as a sniper Review: I am a former marine and a current tactical officer for a large metropolitan police department. I have lived the hard life and fully believe that this is a book which hits point blank. I have been involved in many shooting situatiuons where I have had the crosshairs of a high powered scope on the head of the bad guy. This book relates all the emotion that is goining through a snipers mind. If you have not experienced the moment, you would not understand
