Rating: Summary: This is a great book... Review: I love this book! The photos are exquisite and the writing exceeds anything else you will find on the subject of decorating. This book goes far beyond coffeetable status--it is inspiring all the way around; from the exercises and hands-on decorating rituals to the stories of healing through creativity. Be prepared to look at decorating in a new way--I have, as a professional designer I am rethinking my work. Thank-you Kelee Katillac.
Rating: Summary: A revolutionary book by an author with heart Review: I saw Kelee Katillac on the Carolyn Myss Show on Oprah's Oxygen Network. I was blown away by her personal story of healing while living in a trailer house--through creativity, .... I couldn't wait to get it so went out and bought it that day. I read it in two days and it has changed my life. Finally I feel good about the creative ideas I had for my home. I always thoughtthat because I wasn't a designer or artist that they must be wrong. Her life and work-with all income levels and types of people shows that we are all creative and our positive ideas are messages from the Creator. I am now a follower of this idea and am convinced of her message's power;through her newsgroup I have found many others who feel the same and I feel I speak for them too--a person who has given her whole life to help others engenders a lot of loyalty--Katillac even sold her own home's contents to fund a Habitat for Humanity program. ...
Rating: Summary: Not A Good Book Review: I tried reading this book but both the content and the style were terrible. I learned nothing from it and I am highly disappointed with the reviews I read because it was those positive reviews that convinced me to read the book. My intention is not to be critical but I can't help believe that the people who wrote these reviews were friends of the author. There are many other books that I can recommend that are a more informative read than this book.
Rating: Summary: Superb insights into artistic home decorating design styles. Review: Interior design talents and guidance for making a house into a representation of personality are presented in House of Belief, a lavish showcase of homes which have been affected by ideas of empowerment and personality. Insights into beauty, artistic placement, and interior design basics accompany an exceptional book which tells how to incorporate one's personality and beliefs in a home decorating style.
Rating: Summary: Your home is your cocoon, so grow into a butterfly Review: Kelee Kadillac's work transcends decorating to embrace the art of living within your means, and through the expression of your inner beliefs. Faith Popcorn's prediction that Americans would cocoon in the 1990's seems to have matured into a desire for artistic expression that moves beyond creating home environments that look like a certain style. Kelee suggests that there are no right answers except the ones we decide to apply to our homes, and thus they can become the medium to express highly personal, fun, elegant, or funky tastes that comfort us and bring joy to our lives. I look for wonder and small surprises in everything I see, and after reading Kelee's book, I felt that my purple walls and lime green ceilings were just fine. That feeling of happiness cheers me all day, and, we all need lots of cheer in our lives. Try this book, not to see how to duplicate the look, but to see how expressing the look you dream in your own heart may just lead you to a refreshing metamorphosis in your definition of style.
Rating: Summary: Belief-based Design Review: Kelee Katillac's "House of Belief" is an inspiring journey that challenges our preconceived notions of interior design. In lilting prose, and with gorgeous photographs to illustrate her views, Ms. Katillac tells us we should look within ourselves before we decorate our external environments. What we believe, value and dream about, she says, should be reflected in our homes; and not manufactured, assembly-line furnishings and decorations that say nothing about who we are. What an uplifting, affirming point of view in a world that robs us of the human and the personal in so many ways! I love this book, and think it will resonate with many people.

Rating: Summary: Is your house a reflection of what you believe? Review: Our homes should be reflections of our beliefs and who we really are rather than collections of mass-marketed, trendy items. Having our beliefs around us incorporated in to our interiors: personal mottoes on walls, embroidered into pillows, or painted onto chairs; portraits of those who inspire us; handmade quilts, pottery, or oil paintings--these are all the things that affirm who we are and who we want to be. If we see our beliefs and dreams in front of us on a daily basis, it is easier to manifest them. This book demonstrates how we all have the tools to build our own houses of belief. It does not require special talent for interior design, just a strong desire to express our individuality and to make our homes havens that uplift our hearts and minds.
Rating: Summary: Not A Good Book Review: Thank you, Kellee Katillac, for this beautiful work. This book helps to break apart that cookie-cutter design look and add meaning to your living/working environment. The quiz spread through the book is also a good way to become acquainted with someone you may forget in this chaotic world...yourself.
