Rating: Summary: Handy Helper Review: This book has a world of information in it. I also like the format and the helpful measurement card in the back - no more searching around to find the thing to measure the size of a needle or to find a tape measure to check gauge. I'm really glad to have this book.
Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: This book has directions for lots of useful techniques: casting on, binding off, increasing, decreasing, making buttonholes, etc. It's small enough to carry all the time and is a good quick reference. It also has a knitting and needle gauge on the back. The directions are easy to follow and are accompanied by clear illustrations. I'm a huge fan!
Rating: Summary: Changed my life! Review: This book helped me through those tough times in which I had contemplated not wearing sweaters ever again. This book has reassured my faith in sweaters.
Rating: Summary: Lots of info for a little book Review: This book is definitely in my shopping cart after using the library's copy. Why get it when you have the Vogue Knitting ref you may ask? I was starting to do paired decreases and increases in a sweater with shaping and it was just so much easier to flip the spiral bound pages in this 5"x7" compact book than having Vogue Knitting laying on my lap. Also, the instructions in this book are concise and clear accompanied by well-drawn illustrations. Besides increases and decreases, this book covers other topics that usually have me running to a full size knitting reference, e.g., kitchener, short-rowing, various seaming methods. It may not have an exhaustive explanation for each technique but it is enough to jog one's memory. Another plus: even though the pages are small, the type is large and dark enough to pose no strain for a middle aged person.
Rating: Summary: The Knitter's Companion Review: This book is wonderful; its small enough to carry around in your knitting bag, its large enough to provide sufficient description of a technique and/or stitch; its sturdy and most of all the price at Amazon is THE best around. Highly recommended!
Rating: Summary: Easy to use! Review: This handy guide travels well, and gives most of the tricks and techniques of knitting you will need...it is compact and convenient and has clear, precise instructions. Worth the money.
Rating: Summary: Great reference! Review: This handy little book is just that - handy. The small size is perfect to throw in your knitting bag on your way out the door. The sprial binding lays flat as you work from the "easy to understand" instructions. A very experienced knitter recommended this companion to me when I first started knitting. I refer to it on a regular basis and, as a self-taught knitter, I would be lost without this great reference!

Rating: Summary: Helpful aid for knitting basket Review: This is an extremely handy aid for any knitter and small enough to carry in his/her knitting basket. It has a LOT of information in a very small package and can answer almost any knitting need/question. I am enjoying this purchase.
Rating: Summary: Great reference! Review: This is without a doubt the best knitting reference I can offer my students. The portability, small size, indestructability of the pages and built-in needle size/gauge check all add to Vicki's clear instructions and beautiful illustrations. BUY THIS BOOK - and if you're a good friend, buy one for a new knitter, they'll never stop thanking you!
