Summary: LET ME LOVE LIKE THIS
Review: This is quite a breakaway from James Patterson's usual murder mystery venue. It's a complicated and intertwining love story, but it's not even close to the standard romance fare.

SUZANNE'S DIARY FOR NICHOLAS is two parallel stories from two women involving their love for the same man and for the child that each has with him. This novel lets you feel the full range of emotions, from giddy joy to anger, to jealously, to the depths of despair and hopelessness. It also makes you feel the love and compassion that people have for one another.

In addition to being a wonderfully written book, Patterson draws vivid verbal descriptions of places, so much so that it's easy to visualized being there. He also uses timely and real referenceS to current events, which make the story "right now" relevant.

What's even more delightful about this book is that the author's practice of mystery writing is very much alive. You can't predict the ending. And it is more than well worth the wait.

I truly enjoyed reading SUZANNE'S DIARY FOR NICHOLAS and would recommend it highly to others.

Summary: I've never been so touched...
Review: I received this book as a gift and didn't know what to expect. I found that I finished it in about two hours and want to read it all over again. I can honestly say that a book has ever brought me to tears until this one. I've lent it to a friend now and I am POSITIVE that she'll love it. It's so well written it draws you in and makes you believe you know these people. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would!

Summary: Adolescent Treacle
Review: I found this book poorly written, transparent, pedestrian, and boring. I found none of the characters particularily sympathetic, especially Matt who I think is a bit of a wimp. I read it because it made my best friend cry and I had to find out WHAT had yanked her heartstrings. I am still wondering. I finished the book out of curiosity because I kept hoping it would get better. It didn't. The ending was trite and quick,as if Patterson had fallen asleep too and wanted to get it over with. Yuck.

Summary: Full of emotional ups and downs....
Review: A wonderful book, full of emotional ups and downs......a must read for all James Patterson fans. The "twist" near the end equals any Alex Cross thriller. If you're not a fan before you read this book, you soon will be. I read the book in one sitting.

Summary: Say Cheese
Review: I'm a fan of James Patterson's work, for the most part, but I must ask - what was he thinking?

First off, the book is so light in material and wordcount that it took me just over an hour to read it. 2-3 page chapters may work well in the mystery/suspense genre, but not in a book like this. It's apparently supposed to be romance, but the dialogue was so cheesy and the chapters so short that it lost my interest almost immediately.

Stick to writing good suspense novels and murder mysteries, and leave the tacky romance novels to Judith Krantz.

Summary: A good way to pass the time
Review: While I wouldn't stow this book next to my copies of Oscar Wilde or Hemingway, James Patterson lives up to his capability of producing one page-turner after another. Like a previous reader, I bought the book at the airport in San Diego and had it finished halfway to Denver. An engaging story that reminds us that memories should be cherished while life should continue to be relished, I'd recommend it to a friend.

Summary: I actually Cried
Review: As a new Patterson reader I loved the quality and the realness he gave each character. I found myself crying during parts of this book (which almost never happens for me. I also found it an easy read finishing it in under 3 hours. I HIGHLY recommend this book. The story of the five balls especially rang true

Summary: Sweet But Not Sappy
Review: I just read this book in less than two hours on a plane ride from St. Louis to Phoenix. James Patterson delivers a heartfelt story about all kinds of love--the love between a man and woman, the love between a woman and her son, and the love of friends for each other. Patterson throws in some twists and turns, which advance the story and draw readers into the characters' minds and hearts. I've read many of Patterson's thrillers; this one is on a completely different level than his previous works, but it's every bit as powerful. A wonderful summer read!

Summary: Phenomenal !
Review: I was familiar enough to know that this James Patterson book was not his traditional style. What a phenomenal read. I couldn't put it down. I read the book in a little over 2 hours. It is like you are right there in the book with the characters. Four days later and I am still thinking about this book. I would recommend it to anyone, but keep a box of tissues nearby.

Summary: A Must Read...
Review: As a mother of a one year old, I was unable to put this book down. Patterson details the life of a new mother who finally 'has it all!' This book helps you to realize the importance of making the MOST of each day. This 'quick read' is well written and unpredictable...to say the least. Enjoy:)
