Summary: As a piece of art it does its job.
Review: The writing is wonderful. It pulls you into the relationship and makes you just as anxious as Griffin and Sabine. It is a wonderful and yet frustrating boook. I highly recommend it.

Summary: Get a Life... Other than your own
Review: This trilogy gives readers an opportunity to jump into someone elses life for an instant. To have to opportunity to go through the emotions and life that the characters do is relaxing and exciting all in one. It's like taking a bubble bath while watching the movie Speed.

Summary: Powerful and dramatic
Review: I have seen many Bantock and neo-Bantock books; many fail to capture the attention of a wide audience, and don't sell. I believe that the best books of this genre bring the reader as close as possible into the story - and "Griffin and Sabine" is an excellent example of such a book.

In Bantock's "The Forgetting Room," the illustrations and fold-out pieces are few; many readers would feel that more illustrations are needed to make the unfamiliar ideas familiar. In Bantock's "Capolan," the box is designed as commemorative stamps and a booklet from the fictional Capolan Post Office; however, the short book does not develop the ideas far enough. "Griffin and Sabine" succeeds. The plot is well-developed. The illustrations and fold-out pieces draw the reader into the characters' world because the reader has all the pieces of paper that the characters have. In the end, all the reader has to imagine are the physical locations.

Summary: EMPTY LOVE
Review: I LOVED THE FIRST AND SECOUND BOOKS BUT WHEN I READ THE THIRD BOOK I BECAME ANGRY AND DISTURBED.I WAS UNEASY ABOUT THE STRANGER COMING IN AND WREAKING HAVOC ON THE BOND THAT GRIFFIN AND SABINE HAD.I WAS CONFUSED ABOUT THE ENDING AND HAD MANY MORE QUESTIONS THAN ANSWERS.IF YOURE LOOKING FOR A GREAT READ BUY THE FIRST AND SECOND BOOK BUT TRY TO STAY AWAY FROM THE THIRD,IF YOU READ IT YOU MIGHT LEAVE FROM READING IT NOT WITH A FEELING OF LOVE THATS FULFILLING BUT ONE THAT IS EMPTY AND QUESTIONABLE.DO YOURSELF A FAVOR READ THE FIRST AND SECOND BOOK AND AVOID THE THIRD.

Summary: Ceremony of Innocence, a CD-ROM adaptation of these books
Review: I have'nt yet read these books, but I have been through Ceremony of Innocence, the CD-ROM adaptation of these books, and I must say that it is great. It was done by REALWORLD (peter gabriel's multimedia company) and with the participation of Nick Bantock himself. Anyone interested in the books should go on with the multimedia adaptation.

Summary: BORING.
Review: Ok, I admit the first book the first time around was alright. The art was nice and I liked reading the letters but it just doesn't go anywere from there. After the first the book, well been there done that. Having recieved this set as a gift I was glad I didn't blow the $50 bucks but I still felt cheated. If you like this type of book there are better ones out there. Try The Republic of Dreams, the art is wonderful and the story although a bit light is fun.

Summary: Great but........
Review: I was so excited when reading the first 2 books. Page after page, never stopped. The empathy on these two soul-mates/lovers gave me a very warm feeling, and wonders of how it could happen in my life. But the third book turned me down with this total stranger coming between them and threatening their love. The ending just left me behind with a feeling of being cheated, and all of this loneliness. So, buy the first two, and DON'T get the third one. (or simply don't read the concluding book)

Summary: Can't get these books off of my mind.
Review: I was absolutely fascinated by these books. I read them all at one sitting. I don't know how I would have got through the time if I had read the first volume and then had to wait a whole year for the sequel--and another year for the finale. They are books to dwell on, and to discuss with friends who have also read them.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A fine romance -- light, pretty reading
Review: Although I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I would not give it the perfect rating which so many here have bestowed. It is absolutely beautiful and very creative. The story does leave something to be desired in a lot of very worthwhile things, such as the mysterious man in the third book, are oddly thrown in as plot devices. However, you can't expect every love story to be perfectly crafted -- Bantock does what is needed in creating a beautiful mood and sense of mystery. His artwork is brilliant and his prose is at least competent.

Summary: Intriguing! And an aesthetic feast.
Review: I found this book in a guest room of a friend's home while visiting. What a find! An evening's 'read' the first time, it's a feast for the eyes, excruciatingly intriguing to the psyche and offers a kind of underhanded excitement that one would get while reading a personal account from a diary of a long lost relative or other semi-related person. Juicy in its emotional tease and poignant in its emotional offerings, its unanswered questions lead you back to the book again...which is why I am ordering my own copy now. I love its tactile quality, too, full of cards, envelopes, handwriting and luxurious illustration. Sensual in its very being. It has been years since I found a book intriguing enough to want it in my permanenet collection, but this is one I want for MY guests in my guest room...and I'll sneak a peek again at it myself.
