Summary: A hot new series with three sexy brothers
Review: MARLY'S CHOICE is the first very hot, very emotional book in the August Men series by talented author Lora Leigh. Three brothers tied together in a tale that will have reader's crying over the injustice of it all. This is the oldest brother Cade's story. For years, the three brothers protected and cared for Marly. But now Marly is all grown up and wants Cade. Not as her brother but her lover. She's heard all the whispered comments about his sexual prowess and is ready to take him on. Will Cade bite at her open invitation? Get ready for the ride of your life when you open MARLY'S CHOICE. Sex, emotion, and love all wrapped into a neat little package. This book is definitely hot, and oh so very good.

Summary: Timid, but Succumbed
Review: Okay, first off I knew it was an erotic novel, and had some inkling as to what was to come. I found myself reading the scenes involving Marly, Cade and either one or both brothers at times tummy churning. I thought for sure there was no way I could even go onto the other books, but I was dying to know how everything was resolved and went & purchased the other 3 books in the series immediately and read them all in a weekend.

I found myself reading past the sex scenes because there were so many. I eventually came back to them mind you. But the story in the later books overtook the love scenes and I just wanted everything to work out.

The book was emotionally exhausting, trying to wrap my head around the idea of what exactly was going on, I got over it, but not until the last book, August Heat.

This was my first menage book and I suggest to anyone who has not read one before you may want to try one that doesn't involve loose family ties. I got hit over the head with this one. With that said enjoy!

Summary: INCEST IS NOT ROMANTIC! It is GROSS!!!
Review: This a book about a girl who was raised as a sister to 3 men. When she grows up she gets the hots for one brother in particular-Cade. For a fair portion of the book she tries to get together with him while he abusively pushed her away.

Eventually they start getting together. As their sexual relationship progresses, he is still emotionally abusive. He, further, very very HEAVILY PRESSURES her into sexual acts that she is not comfortable with.

This leads to the incest! If the fact that she has been raised with these men as siblings wasn't enough, she then is pressured into having a sexually incestuous relationship with all three men.

To me, this is VILE! YUCK! The level of emotional abuse and sexual manipulation is enough to make me hate the book, but adding incest...is beyond disgusting.

If all of that wasn't enough to leave you heaving, the book is jam packed with typos and poor writing. Furthermore, the pitiful excuse for a suspense plot is laughable. The book would have been better without it.

If you read this book, one don't pay for it, and two keep the barf bag handy.

Summary: A Great Begining To An Awesome Series!
Review: This book may not be for the faint of heart, but for those who love a good, nail biting, mind blowing erotic romance, this is the book for you.
This story is about Cade August and is the first book in a series. As you read you'll rant and rave and cry over what the August brothers have had to endure. Finding a way to continue after a horrendously abusive childhood wasn't easy, but in his own way Cade August managed just that with the help and love of Marly.
Steamy sex scenes and sensual romance with a twist. One of my many favorites of author Lora Leigh.

Summary: Implausible plot, poor writing skills exhibited
Review: This book was recommended to me as good erotic romance, which may have made me expect more than I found. Ms. Leigh's writing skills are very poor, and the fact the error hadn't been corrected during the editing process has made me leery about buying more books from Ellora's Cave. As for the story line, I found it very hard to believe that any dominating type man, even one who had been abused as a child, would allow his brothers to share his woman, much less insist on it. I also found it impossible to believe Marly or any other modern woman would consent to such an arrangement in any circumstances.

Summary: Sizzling HOT, Intensely Emotional and a Great Suspense Story
Review: This is one of the best books I have ever had the pleasure to read. The characters of Marly and Cade heat up the pages and make for some intensely erotic scenes. Cade and his brothers Brock and Sam lived through terrible abuse as young men and only the love of Marly can help them overcome the anger and outrage, and bring love to these wonderfully deserving men again. Ms. Leigh's excellent writing style brings the characters to life and makes them so realistic you will become part of their story. Her love scenes scorch the pages and are never ordinary. The beginning of a three part series this book was life changing for me in that if was the first time I had read such an intensely emotional, and suspenseful story that was also a fabulous erotic romance. I have devoured everything Ms. Leigh has ever written, but this one started it all for me. You will love these characters and you won't be able to stand to wait to get your hands on the sequels.

Summary: Deeply erotic - some may find deviant- start of series
Review: This is part one of a three-part series about the three August brothers, their disturbing, violent past (they were terribly abused), and the women who enter their lives. It also is a suspense/thriller - this plot is carried through the books and nicely resolved in the third book. The series is a dark erotic romance, and boy does it deliver on the erotic!

Ms. Lora Leigh writes erotic novels with strong sexual themes that some may find disturbing. If you find the very idea of sex with multiple partners, non-missionary position sex in every room of the house, not to mention sex in the barn, sex by the pool, etc., or the alpha male dominant-type hero disturbing, this is not the book for you, toots. The hint of insest is open to interpretation (remember Woody Allen?) and is not gratuitous. Personally, I found Ms. Leigh amazingly successful in showing why these virile brothers embraced the unusual (some may say deviant) lifestyle they did; I was able to accept the premise for these particular people, in this fictional setting.

I would have given five stars, but the book is poorly edited. Editing improved in the next two books in the series. Keep in mind that this is not classic literature - it's erotica.

Warning - if you read this and like it, you will want to read the rest of the series immediately, and you may stay up all night doing so.

Summary: Marly's Choice is a Keeper!
Review: This is the one that started the August Family Series. Ms. Leigh
sets the stage for one of the most sexualy intense and erotic reads on the bookself. Cade is the Alpha Hero every woman wants (his brothers Brock and Sam are not bad either) and Marly is a woman who knows what she wants. Cade does not stand a chance.
Cade is the protector until Marly has had enough. Then the
relationship is threatened by family secrets and outside forces
trying to tear them apart.
Ms. Leigh's books are all on my auto buy list.

Summary: Dark and Titillating
Review: This was my first Lora Leigh book. It is somewhat of a dark story, where its heroine Marly brings hope, love and light to the troubled hero and his two brothers. It is a story of how the past comes back to haunt the main characters and their attempts to break free. I could not take a break from reading this as I was caught in the moment. I laughed at Marly's mischievous attempts to seduce Cade and his struggle to fight the attraction. There is suspense, great dialogue and hot sex. I was a little shocked by Cade's very close relationship with his brothers and what they wanted Marly to bring into that relationship to make it even closer. But I got over it quickly because it worked well with the story line and was very tastefully done. As a result of reading this book, I took a liking to Lora Leigh's writing style and have gone on to reading more of her books and it always keeps getting better and better. I highly recommend this book!
