Rating: Summary: Great follow-up to Oath of Seduction Review: Oath of Seduction by Marly Chance (Romantic Times Magazine's BEST SMALL PRESS FUTURISTIC of 2002) was the first futuristic romance I ever read. I loved it, so I had to buy the second, Oath of Challenge. Tair and Kate are even more explosive than Sharon and Liken, if that's possible. The world Ms. Chance creates is easy to imagine, and just enough different from Earth to make it appealing, without too alien for those of us who don't like SF/F very much. If you're new to the futuristic romance and/or romantica genre, this is a good book to try. Be warned that the series is addictive, and you'll be impatiently awaiting Oath of Capture alongside the rest of us Marly Chance fans.
Rating: Summary: Oath of Challenge Review: Out Of This World Romance! Fresh and creative new ideas. It sizzles! A must read for anyone who likes romance and laughter! Can't wait for the third book!!!
Rating: Summary: Not to be missed!! Review: Second in her series - Oath of Seduction is the first - this book could easily be read as a stand alone novel. Ms Chance's futuristic world-building is engrossing and flows wonderfully. As a Romantica novel she clearly succeeds in the sensual/erotic aspect while giving us the pleasure of a well thought out story line. I enjoyed the first in this series equally as well and am eagerly awaiting her third.
Rating: Summary: Kicks A#%! Review: This book is a terrificfollow-up to Oath of Seduction. I, actually, prefer OAS, but not because of anything lacking in this book. This is a super fun SEXY story. The characters are living and sparkling. The hero is a good guy as well as an alpha male. You don't find that too often in romance.Do yourself a favor and check out Oath of Seduction first and then grab this one too!!! You'll have a great read.
Rating: Summary: Kate's Story Review: This is a very good follow up to Oath of Seduction, the first of the Oath series by Marly Chance. For those of you have read 'Seduction', you might remember the willful and lovable Kate. I really remember her, and I remember liking her very much. Kate didn't know when she first met Tair at the joining of her best friend, Sharon and his brother in the story of 'Seduction', that he was planning to claim her. LOL...when she is 'served' with papers stating she must report to the 'claming' center she is ready to crack some skulls. As a high powered lawyer, she isn't scared. So, she chooses what any woman of her ilk would chose...Challenge. Tair and Kate are exciting, and their romance is hot. As with 'Seduction' there are many aspects of her relationship with Tair that must be worked out. Plus, Kate has her own insecurities. Seriously, this is a good book, and wonderful follow up to 'Seduction'. Though, you could read this as a stand alone, it would help to read Oath of Seduction first. The ritual of the claiming is explained properly, so you won't be lost as to what it means. And, the author leaves you sufficiently hanging with the next story of the Oath series. I have been waiting on pins and needles to read this story for a while. Overall, this is a very good book.
Rating: Summary: Very erotic but..... Review: This is only the second erotic novel that I have read. I was an avid romance reader a few years back. I've just started reading romance again and order this book for a spicery read. The sex scenes were vivid and detailed without being lewed. I am not interested in threesomes or same sex or public sex which this book didn't have. The chemistry between Kate and Tair was hot but the overall story was just so so. Maybe I needed to read the first book in the series because the book needed more that just good sex in my opinion. This scene was set on another world but the reader was never given a good look at this other world. Kate never met other people or explored her new "home" . There were not details about the planet or Tairs work or culture other than details about merging and linking.
I think that I will stick to traditional romance because I like a good story as well as good sex.
Rating: Summary: Creative SF Framework for Hot Novel! Review: This is the first book I ever read by Marly Chance, and I considered it so good that I immediately had to go back and read all the other work she has published. The plot has already been covered by previous reviewers, so I will briefly point out why I enjoyed it. The plot is fresh and interesting, and is not merely a vehicle for the sex scenes. The author has put a lot of thought into the societies involved. In addition, this book is really hot - even on the second (or third) read-through! I'm really looking forward to the third book in the series.
Rating: Summary: Compelling and Fun Series Review: What a GEM of a writer, and what a fabulous find! Ms. Chance has written a world that is almost tangible. What a joy to enter her compelling world, and meet an interesting group of characters. For me, the true mark of a good book -- is that I lose track of time when I'm reading it...and boy did I lose track of time with both of Ms. Chance's offerings. If you are into books that reak of realism -- don't read this! If you are into books that are fun to read, and will take you away effortlessly...these are the books for you!
