Rating: Summary: I couldn't put it down! Review: This is one of the best books that I have read in a long time. I had a hard time getting anything else done except reading this book. I thought it was a touching, yet humorous, portrayal of what it is like to be an outcast. The author gives outstanding descriptions of this girls triumphs and letdowns. I would definately recommend this book to anyone
Rating: Summary: funny and sad, and very readable Review: This book was written with such insight to a woman's mind, it is hard to believe this author is a man.
Dolores is both funny and sad, but throughout all the story, someone you care about and believe in.
I read the book in two days, and I found it hard to put down. You laugh with her and cry with her, and perhaps, there is some of all of us in her.
Rating: Summary: Amazing. Review: This quietly amazing book contains more pain, hope, anger and joy than one could have thought possible. It's about life within the plain brown wrapper -- the real one, without the pretty paper of romance on it, without fantasy and the fantastic. A life that could be our own. I kept turning to the inside cover to search Wally Lamb's face -- where did he GET this from? This is painfully private "woman stuff" he's writing about, and writing well
Rating: Summary: This is one of the most absorbing books ever. Review: The insight and the emotions of Dolores Price is those of all females. I feel as though I could meet her on the street and know her. This book is amazing...like everyone else, I had to keep flipping to the back...Dolores Price is a true heroine of the 21 century. My moods were controlled by her...when she was in love, I was in love; when she hurt, I hurt. This would make a great movie. I vote for Ricki Lake as Dolores Price
Rating: Summary: VERY MOVING Review: I really enjoyed this very moving book. I couldn't put it down
Rating: Summary: Absolutely amazing! Review: Throughout "She's Come Undone" I found myself really awed
by the fact that the author is a man! Mr. Lamb has accurately captured the emotions and all of the other particaulars that go along with a girl becoming a woman. No doubt many women can identify with the central character, Dolores. A well written piece of literature!
Rating: Summary: very deep and touching Review: I couldn't put this down. I have told all my friends and family about this book. Its touches all of us in someway. Growing up is so hard and i feel like no one ever fits in, but dolores never had a chance. The way he wrote this, you could really feel the pain and suffering. I wanted this book to go on and on with more stories about dolores.Makes you reexamine the way you treat people and the way you look at them
Rating: Summary: A man wrote this???? Review: He must have followed me around during the early part of my adult life!!!. I identified with so many areas of this book. Thank you Mr. Lamb for one of the most insightful , moving, and funniest books I've read in a long time. There were times I wanted to scream at Delores and other times I cried with her. I smiled a lot while reading this book. It brought back so many memories.I can see why Oprah recommended it, we grew up in the same era. A great read!!
Rating: Summary: Loved the book but don't get it Review: I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Very easy reading and found myself going and going and going just to find out what was going to happen next. Like many others, I felt much like Dolores - I felt her pain growing up and her joy coming out. I was so happy for her when she lost the weight and found love in her life. But when I got to the last page, I became puzzled. What was Dolores seeing the whale supposed to symbolize? Did I miss something along the way
Rating: Summary: stupid Review: I must be the only person thinking this book is really stupid. I can't even use another word. Stupid. Nothing against the author. I chose this book because Oprah said it was great. Sure fooled me
