Summary: Disgusting!
Review: This book was totally awful. It deserves a negative one hundred stars. I can't believe Oprah would endorse such a book. I got about half way through this book and decided to put this filth down and not to fill my mind with such trash. I would be embarassed to be able to think of such terrible things, much less be able write a whole book filled with it. Avoid this book at all costs.

Summary: What a waste of time
Review: I kept waiting for Dolores to finally take control of her life and instead was "treated" to a book full of constant whining of how terrible life was. HATED THE BOOK. Reinforced the belief if Oprah recommends it I want nothing to do with it. Life is too short to waste on books like this.

Summary: A MASTERPIECE - Wally is a complete genious
Review: I found myself turning pages and saying without thinking..."This is amazing!"

Summary: Excellent book
Review: Took me back to the 60's. Had to keep looking at the cover to make sure it was written by a man! This was an excellent book - my daughter (age 25) and I both really enjoyed it.

Summary: the best book ever
Review: I would have to say that is my favorit books of all time. While reading this book that I just could not put down I felt that I was the character. Thats how real it was for me. Also the author portrays the character as a female so well.

Summary: Don't Waste Your Time
Review: If you want to read about almost everything bad that can happen to a person, pick up this one. Another one of Oprah's books which is totally unrealistic. Lamb is a good author, and the book is easy to read. It's too bad the content stinks. He could have had Dolores turn her life around and show how people can overcome obstacles. Instead, she was typical of our society and played the victim. Oprah, please pick a book that really challenges people's minds--if you want to "change people's lives" DON'T have any more of these dribble books on your book club! Pick one that has a main character that has redeeming qualities.

Summary: Fantastic!
Review: I devoured the entire novel in 8 hours! What an amazing lesson on life...without being preached to. I'm sorry more of my friends haven't read it, for it's brain food. I wanted to discuss it in a college classroom or a coffee shop. It completely engulfs the reader with flowing prose, succinct phrases, and colorful descriptions. I FELT Dolores grow up, I didn't just read about it.

Summary: Wally Lamb has touched my soul because I am Dolores Price...
Review: ...I am also her mother and possibly her grandmother. I understand each of her feelings because I have been there myself. I did not want this book to end and I wish I could read about Dolores forever. After this book, I will always be a devoted fan of Mr. Lamb!

Summary: The most depressing book of all time!
Review: I truly disliked this book. It was not funny but pathetic. This girl needed help in a BIG WAY! I find most of the books that "Oprah" likes to be this way. Pass on this one. But if you give Mr. Lamb a second chance you will find "I Know This Much is True" to be a book of a different sort

Summary: Whatever. Who cares? I didn't. Oprah strikes out...again!
Review: Trivial, boring work from a writer who obviously writes well. I hated this book. I didn't care about the heroine, didn't like her but didn't care enough to hate her. Weak characters. Dull plot. Blah, blah, blah... Does anyone at Oprah's book club really know how to read? What can they be thinking? How about promoting some really fine writers from the back shelves who are seldom noticed, Oprah? This isn't one of them.
