Summary: It's all about LOVE, the only reason why we exist!
Review: From the very first day I started reading IF LIFE IS A GAME THESE ARE THE RULES, By Cherie Carter-Scott, I noticed that I was acting different towards other people. My expressions and feelings are more understanding and that has made me realized that I'm much more capable to really LOVE my life, Family, Friends, Job, etc... with a higher capacity just by following the rules of being human...

Summary: learning lessons about courage
Review: The author provides a clever and cohesive organization of fundamental ideas, based on the premise that life is for learning. The theme is ultimately unsatisfying, however, because she fails to come to grips with why we should care about learning. Learning for the sake of learning is quite pointless. But the author cannot summon the courage to follow her thesis to its natural conclusion: that there is a loving Creator who intends for us to learn and sustains us in the process. Euphemisms like "spiritual DNA" illustrate the lesson that this author has apparently yet to learn: that when we are afraid to speak out of fear that we will offend the sensibilities of others, we are left with nothing important to say. Scott Peck begins with much the same view about life as a laboratory for learning, but he has the courage to credit God with the design. In contrast to his work, this is The Road More Travelled. Too bad.

Summary: Very concise...this is good
Review: I've read a million self-help books, and I have got say, this one was really good. Carter-Scott doesn't pull any punches, she gets to the point and offers good, precise examples of the points she's trying to make. Her straightforward offering really does make this life-thing a lot easier to understand and accept.

Summary: The principles in this book are absolutely life-changing
Review: How wonderful it would be if we were all born with Cherie Carter-Scott's Rules for Being Human. Her eternal inspiring message provides the key to fully realizing our dreams and potential. In a world that often seems devoid of civility, manners and humanity, IF LIFE IS A GAME, THESE ARE THE RULES really gives all of us the ultimate human template to live by. This book is absolutely transforming.

Summary: Pop Psychology
Review: Pop (pap) psychology: possibly helpful for someone who has never read a self-help book

Summary: It's about time!
Review: It's about time someone finally put down the rules for life as a human being in writing. This book will definitely get you started on the way to excavating your spirituality or just give you a guide to refer back to when you stray from the spiritual path a little. Full of common sense, compassion, and inspiration.

Summary: A handbook for living a conscious, healthy and happy life
Review: I have written this book for people to view their lives from an altered perspective that provides them with insight, clarity and illumination about the circumstances that happen to them. These universal truths cut across all boundaries of race, culture, nationality, religion and language. These "rules" are not punitive or judgmental, but rather a dose of gentle gravity that tells "it" like it is. This book helps open up conversations to discuss our lessons, our challenges and our humanity. This book is for you. Be gentle with yourself, learn the lessons you are presented, and live a full, joyful and abundant life!

Summary: THE OPERATOR'S MANUAL FOR LIFE
Review: I watched Cherie Carter-Scott do a show with Oprah a few weeks ago and found it to be very enlightening. This is like the operator's manual that we should have all be handed at birth to be memorized by the age of 5 or 6. There is a lot of just plain common sense that made me wonder - "why didn't I think of that" or say "I knew that but I've never really thought about it that way before". However, I hadn't thought or said these rules before and thank God someone has finally put it all together in one place. Everyone should get a copy of this book, especially children - it's just really cool!

Summary: A blessing in disguise
Review: It is so nice to see a book that helps rather than accuses. So often we see 200 pages of complaining but no solutions. All I can say is 'refreshing'.

Summary: True story about the book
Review: A friend in the middle of an excruciating divorce read the book. She was so moved she loaned the book to their marriage counselor, who was so moved that she insisted that the battling husband read the book. He was so moved that he wrote his wife a letter!. And now they are back together again and very happy! IF LIFE IS A GAME, THESE ARE THE RULES saved this marriage. It can save your life.
