Summary: Annoying
Review: The mere indication that overweight women dont have a social life and need to starve themselves to have a great love affair makes me sick to my stomach as did this book. And what was with speaking in second and third person? If you pick this one up .PUT IT BACK.

Summary: Wonderful Modern Day Fairy Tale
Review: I enjoyed this book. It's a fairy tale about a woman who learns to dare a little and gets the guy. It was great!

Summary: Hits Amazingly Close to Home
Review: When you first pick up the book, and start reading the pages you'll find yourself a tad bit lost. Maybe it's just me, but I did. She changes the tenses and sometimes speaks directly to you.

However in the end this is a great book which has simply put a smile on my face, tears in my eyes, and a warm fuzzy feeling in my heart.

For anybody who has ever been overweight, been told they would look wonderful if they "lost a few pounds," or thought they'd get somewhere if they were skinney needs to read this book.

It's renewed my faith in men, let alone myself.

Brilliantly amazing!

Summary: Not for everyone.
Review: I didn't really enjoy this book. It wasn't particulary well
written and I found the constant switching from first to third
and even second persons to be rather annoying. I would not
recommend this book to those who have little patience for authors
who have not honed their writing skills.

Summary: Jemima J a winner in my book!
Review: Jane Green may not be Shakespeare, but let's face it, do you want to spend your free time reading that?

Jemima J is a heart warming character from the outset, a typical, overweight woman in a boring job, convinced everything would be better if only she could lose the weight. Sound common enough?

Well prepare yourself for a rollercoaster of a ride in the life of Jemima J. From the moment she meets her "Prince Charming" on the internet it is obvious that she is in for a rough ride of self discovery, and I promise you, you won't be disappointed.

This is an excellent book, well written, witty throughout, hysterically funny in places, and granted to make a journey go faster or a sleepless night seem shorter.

Summary: Very entertaining!
Review: What single person, at the beginning of the internet age, didn't find themselves meeting other people in chat rooms or message boards and possibly starting an online relationship?? I loved reading this book. The characters were fun. The story was fabulous! I have referred this book to all of my girlfriends!!

Summary: This ain't no Aunt Jemima!
Review: I'm giving it 4 stars not for being prize winning writing, it is not a classic and will not be taught in schools in the years to come. It is however, a book that might lead you to wonder and to care about the main character if you commonly love the underdog. I found it a cousin to the likes of Bridget Jone's Diary with the dry English humor. A very likeable read!

Summary: Loved IT!!!
Review: I absolutely loved the book. Randomly picked it up for my airplane ride and couldn't put it down. Easy reading and intriguing story. Very humorous as well...

Summary: Great Story!
Review: I did not want to put this book down. I loved it from beggining to end. I couldn't wait to see what happened to Jemima next. This was just a funny, witty, and yet a touching story as well. It was about finding out things about yourself that you have probably always known deep down inside but just kept denying. Then realizing that if you don't take control of your own life no one ever will.
I think that we can all relate to this story in one way or another. Because if you think about it are we all perfect? Are we all really happy with ourselves, what we are doing and who we are? I'm not.

Summary: Predictible
Review: This is the story of a woman who was unhappy with herself and found a way to change it. She encounters love and lust among the way. The book is a real page turner, but it is, at best, predictible. There was a whole build up about Brad - who is he and what's his motive? The author leaves you hanging at the end of a chapter right at the climax. After she picked back up on the "Brad" issue, I was thinking, "That's it? That is the whole big thing?". Sort of a let down and an easy way out. And I wasn't quite sure if Jemima really grew that much as a person due to the issue. A little bit, but given the irony of the events surrounding Brad, I would have thought she would have changed her entire outlook. I hae a feeling that we would have ended up with the same results if he had just dumped her after a huge fight about the weather. I also had problems with the continuity of certain characters (Ben), and also the uneasy transition from first person to third person, where the third person narrative took a very conversationalist tone, which reminded me of the narrator from "Rocky and Bullwinkle" breaking in to inform the audience that Bullwinkle was just about to do something silly.

I judge books harshly, and despite these complaints, I did enjoy the book. I even found time to read it again.
