Summary: Some people just don't get it
Review: Granted this is not the best James Patterson work and what does it say that he can recycle a book and have it hit the top 10 lists like Cradle and All.

However this is a great premise with decent writing and yes you are trying to figure out who is who until the end. There are typical double crosses and unthinkable acts that our the trademark of J. Patterson.

Jews acting as Nazi's--even this might be a little overboard-but hey not every book will be a home run for any writer. It's not like you read JP for the great literature--if you want a story that will keep you captivated and guessing this is a solid pick.

Summary: bad book, avoid if possible
Review: I bought this book because of James Patterson's previous works: Along Came A Spider and Kiss the Girl. Those are excellent books, but this one, See How They Run, is simply bad.

The book has a misleading backcover, it says Alix Rothschild is running for her life, in fact, she never really did. The book is hard to follow, complicated by all the foreign language inserted. At least he should insert an English translation right after a phrase. In quite a few places the story is not logical or consistant, which really upsets me.

Maybe this is a much earlier work of James Patterson? or he start to outsouce his work? The writing style are totally different then those center on Alex Cross.

Summary: I am so disappointed James...
Review: I cannot believe that this is the James Patterson that writes all of my favourite books - Along Came A Spider, Kiss The Girls, Cat and Mouse etc.. This has got to be the 2nd JP book that I have hated so much that I had to put it down halfway through, I never ever ever do that to JP!

Although I was looking forward to reading about the Jews, Nazis, Hilter, this book was so unbelievably boring that I did not care about what was going to happen to Alix or any of the silly characters.

I did not know that this was written in the 70's, before his success with Alex Cross, if I had known that, I would never have bothered to pick it up.

Please, if you are looking for the suspense-filled, action packed, twists and turns at every moment, usual JP books, this do yourself a favour and DO NOT READ THIS ONE!

Thank goodness for Alex Cross!

Summary: This book is a big disappointment!
Review: I cannot suggest to anyone that this would be a good read. It was rather boring, not nearly as exciting as his other works.Avoid this one!

Summary: Controversial but a very good read!!!
Review: I feel this book is very controversial. I know this story is written back in 1979, it is a bit shakey and needed a little bit of fine tuning but other that that this book is great!! James Patterson is a great story teller and shocks the heck out of you in the end as always. This is the first book I read by Patterson were the main character isn't a detective. Patterson made you feel what David (the main character) felt and David wanted ultimate revenge on Nazis but in the end David realize revenge is not the best solution because it can lead you in the wrong direction like the Nazi Hunter did. The Nazi Hunter (who's name I forgotten) did the unbelieveable as he held up the olympics. I feel that James Patterson had the guts to write this story because what if this did happen in real life. I feel that Patterson breaks all the rules and boundaries in my eyes!!!

Summary: Not at all what I expected from James Patterson.
Review: I give this book 2 stars because I can't say it's the worst book I have ever read. It doesn't, however, come close to Along Came A Spider or Kiss the Girls; the latter of which I read at every waking moment. That one is impossible to put down. This book however was not what you expect after reading the back cover. First, I found the summary given on the back very misleading. Second, it is so hard to follow. Trying to keep track of who each person is from their code names is no easy task. Not to mention all the foreign words in the book that after a while are just plain aggravating. I read the whole thing hoping it would get better; and also because even if it doesn't keep me at the edge of my chair, curiosity makes me want to know how it ends. Unfortunately, that too was a let down. I don't recommend this book at all! I still love James Patterson and will continue to read his books. I've already bought 4 more. I just think that he seriously dropped the ball on this one. If you've never read James Patterson please don't choose this book. Try one of the others I mentioned in my review. This one would sour you to the good writer that he really is. Sorry Mr. Patterson but this one shouldn't bear your name!

Summary: James Patterson BEFORE he signed the long term deal
Review: I guess many of you out there just don't get it. This book has a rich and intricate plot, great character development, and a whole lotta research to make it believable and powerful.

This was a writer! What happened to him? Now he puts out made-for-T.V. thrillers that obviously tax his ability to meet a deadline from the publisher.

Please James, get back to the time and care and thoughtfullness of your early novels. You remember, the time before you sold out!

Unfortunately, I know that won't happen, because there are too many people who don't want to think when they read. So they read novels that are the equivalent of a made for tv movie. That's where the money is!

I have a theory that I'm researching:

The second novel an author puts out, will invariably be the best.

Summary: A Great Mouse Chase
Review: I had only read one James Patterson book before this one, When the Wind Blows, and I loved it. It had a great and unusual plot line. See How They Run has a very unusual plot line also. The book is about two WWII concentration camp surviors that are trying to prevent the Nazis from terrorizing the world again. David Strauss and Alix Rothchild fly to Germany to retrace David's brother's steps in making his film, The Forth Commandment, and to search for a man named Michael Ben-Iban. For David this might be his chance to find out why his brother was murdered and for Alix the trip was a terror filled and business trip. There are many plot twists that will make you think, "Why didn't I think of that earlier?" James Patterson has masterfully placed history in an exciting mouse chase that will leave you satisfied. I recommend you read this book
