Summary: Patterson's low point
Review: I realize that this is an early novel by James Patterson, and he still hasn't developed his style yet, but ths is probably the worst book by him I have read. "See How They Run" is about a radical group of Jews that adopt Nazi like tactics to exact revenge aginst Eastern European nations that harbor Nazi war criminals and that are still persecuting Jews. The hero of the book is Dr. David Strauss, who's whole family was the first victoms of the terrorists. He seemed very flat with just no real personality at all. Alix Rothschild is woman who was so overcome by memories of the Holocaust that she can not function well; and so one wonders how she became a famous actress and model. The book was written in the late '70s, with a whole slew of other, better written books like Thomas Harris's "Black Sunday" and John La' Carre's "Little Drummer Girl". But this is an idea that I can imagin that a lot of Jews probably hated this book because I feel it exploited the fate of all those Jews who were murdered, and used it as a plot device in a cruel revenge fantasy book.

Summary: Painful to read
Review: I think I must have had a very pained expression on my face as I read this book. There were so many awkward wordings that I was forced to read sentences over and over to figure out what they meant. What is with these agents Callaghan and Hallahan? Dumb. Since this book was written at the beginning of his career in 1979 I will forgive Mr Patterson and chalk it up to inexperience. This book had none of the polish that "Jack and Jill" did.

Summary: Lots of words and not much story
Review: I was very excited when I saw the book and when I read it I was very disappointed. It was very confusing, a great example of this was Hitler having lunch in Washington D.C. several decades after the war. More Alex Cross, please!

Summary: Wow, what a bad book
Review: I wish I had known that this book was previously published in 1979 under a different title. Maybe that explains why it is so bad - James Patterson has obviously honed his skills as a writer in the last 20 years! I really think his books are great otherwise (although I haven't read Pop Goes the Weasel yet).

This book has a good premise, I think, a subject a lot of people would enjoy reading. But it is so confusing and slow and scattered and BORING! I always finish a book I start (even the slow ones), but 128 pages into it and I could not force my self to finish it! Very disappointing work from an excellent writer of thrillers.

Summary: Liked His other Books Better
Review: I've read Along Came a Spider and Kiss the Girls, so I was expecting more and I got less. I saw on the inside cover the original copyright was 1979. The rhytmn is that of an earlier writer before he developed his style. The text is very flat and the characters are not well developed. It reads too much like a TV plot. The topic however is interesting about terriost and Patterson does mange to through in a twist here and there to keep the story interesting. In the end, his later books are better

Summary: Don't confuse 1 James Patterson with another James Patterson
Review: It is important not to confuse this James Patterson with the one who wrote Along Came a Spider and Kiss the Girls. The other one writes as Alex Cross and homocide detective and psychologist. I don't believe he wrote this book. Although it was exceptional with great character development.

Summary: Sorry, Jim......HATED IT.
Review: James Patterson has a problem: his books are either really good, or really, really bad. See How They Run is the second one. (Some books that are really good by him are Kiss The Girls, Along Came A Spider, Hide and Seek, Jack and Jill....I think thats it.) I'm not exactly sure why I didn't like this book, I guess it was because it was really STUPID. It didn't entertain me at all. James Patterson is a really good author (sometimes) and if you would like to read some of his books, I recommend the ones I said earlier.

Summary: James Patterson has done it again with "See How They Run"
Review: James Patterson's "See How They Run" kept me involved with the book from start to end! The book chills and almost scares you in the beginning and takes you by surprise in the middle all the way to the end.

Anyone you is a fan of drama, excitmenet and suspense will love this book. It is a must for everyone!

Summary: RUNNING DOWNHILL
Review: James, you should be ashamed. Granted, the Holocaust is a horrible, horrible part of this world's history, and my heart goes out to anyone who was subjected to this heinous persecution. But in this book, Patterson expects the reader to sympathize with a group of Jews who want revenge, and don't stop at anything to get it. This is not a case of "an eye for an eye"; it is really a literary ploy to churn out this pedestrian novel. There are so many plot inconsistencies and shallow characterizations. How can the hero David Strauss fall in love again with Alix so quickly after his wife's murder? And how in the world can we expect this doctor (a gynecologist) to become such a super hero by the end of the book. I love James Patterson's works, but this is sadly rock bottom.

NOT RECOMMENDED.
