Summary: 5 stars? Give me a break!
Review: I purchased this book because of the good ratings it received here at Amazon from editorial and fan reviews. I also thought the premise of the book would make it a fun and interesting read. But I was duped! I found the writing to be amateurish and boring. I did manage to finish it, it was a quick read but I would only recommend this book if you can get it at the library or wait until it comes out in paperback. Buyer beware and take those 5 star reviews with a grain of salt.

Summary: Jane is TOPS!
Review: I enjoyed Name Dropping so much that I hated for it to end (in less than 24 hours). Ms. Heller's books generally affect me that way. She's a wonderful writer and keeps me waiting for more. I've been hooked on Ms. Heller since I read her book The Club a few years ago. After reading The Club I went out and purchased every book of hers that I could find. For me she became one of those authors who I would purchase on faith alone. I think you will enjoy this book so go out and get it.

Review: Laughed out loud. Easy read. Ending seemed rushed

Summary: AN EXCELLENT, ENTERTAINING QUICK READ
Review: I've read all of Jane Heller's books and this one, once again, does not disappoint. It kept me up for a few nights with its clever dialogue, witty twists and turns, and down to earth heroine. I believe we can all identify with Nancy Stern in some way. Who hasn't envied someone else's life only to discover that it's not quite as great as you thought. If you want to be very entertained in a lighthearted way, read a Jane Heller novel. You will get your money's worth.

Summary: Good fast read, kept me laughing out loud...
Review: This is the first Jane Heller book that I have read. It was a very light read. I read it in about 2 1/2 days. I really didn't want to put it down, but you have to go to bed sometime.

The book is told in the first person. Nancy Stern, she is just a crack up and her life as a preschool teacher is filled with chaos, fun, laughter, love and A WHOLE LOT OF CRAZINESS!

You really have to read it! The end will leave you sitting there with your mouth hanging open saying, "WHAT THE....OH NO"!

Summary: Thoroughly enjoyable
Review: I've read several of Jane Heller's novels, including Crystal Clear, Sis Boom Bah & Infernal Affairs. Name Dropping tops them all. Bill & Nancy were characters I cared about. Ms. Heller did a wonderful job of creating two completely different Nancys and putting them into a plot that, for me anyway, was believable. I'm sure that many of us have, at one time or another, wondered what it would be like to step into a more glamorous life and once we'd tasted it, I'm also sure that some of us would be, like Nancy Z, reluctant to let it go. Bill Harris was a man with a few secrets himself. How they are revealed and the ramifications to his relationship with Nancy was one surprise after another, held my interest, and kept me glued to the story.

Ms.Heller created an inriguing blend of mystery and romance and wove them together against the backdrop of two disparate environments: a pre-school and an upscale jewelry store. The cast of secondary characters was not so long as to bog down the story and contained enough variety to spice it up.

I liked this book much more than Sis Boom Bah, and hope Ms. Heller's next novel is as good as Name Dropping.

Summary: I beg to differ
Review: No, I'm sorry--I like a romantic, funny read as much as the next person, but Name Dropping had me wanting to throw the book across the room in frustration. Teacher Nancy was so totally inept in her celebrity-interviewer pose that no sane guy would have asked her out a second time. Lots of unanswered questions about celebrity Nancy, and some ridiculous scenes including one where teacher Nancy tracks dog-doo across an apartment (she didn't notice the smell coming up on the elevator?) on a mission of subterfuge. A plot line fueled by ridiculous misunderstandings and dishonesty.

Summary: Light? Try Flimsy.
Review: I found this book a little too "light" and "breezy." While it was somewhat enjoyable due to a likeable heroine and an interesting plot device, when I was done, I felt the same way I do when I eat a Milky Way bar: fun while doing it, regretful when finished. I sort of felt that at the end of my life, I'd like to have back the time I spent reading this one.

The heroine was just too perky, and the boyfriend just too perfect and good for my taste.

With so many great books out there and so little time, I cannot recommend this one.

Summary: Good, light read
Review: This is the first book by Jane Heller that I have read. I found it to be a light, entertaining read, definitely worth my time. I found the characters enjoyable and the plot not too terribly predictable.

Summary: Jane Heller has done it again.
Review: As she did in her previous books, Jane Heller in her latest book, Name Dropping, provides her readers with a light and witty reading experience.

Nancy Stern, a divorcee living in New York, spends her days as a nursery school teacher at the prestigious Small Blessing school. She spends her nights with friends listening to them chart their romances or lack of romances and wonders if she'll ever meet Mr. Right among the play-doh.

Then out of the blue she begins receiving invitations to society eveneings, phone calls from strange men and even beautiful bouquets of flowers. As she wonders what's going on, the mystery is solved when she learns that the celebrity interviewer and writer, another Nancy Stern, has moved into her building. And then when a man calls asking for a blind date with the other Nancy Stern, nursery school teacher Nancy decides its time to seize the man and spice up her life. What ensues is a comedy of errors and intellignece which only a witty writer like Jane Heller can deliver to her readers.

This is a fun book, most likely meant to be read this summer on the beach. But remember when you laugh out loud, others around you may be wondering why.

Have fun with this book.
