Summary: The secrets of acquiring true wealth.
Review: A friend lent me THE INSTANT MILLIONAIRE, a short allegory
by self-made millionaire Mark Fisher . . . she said it had made
a profound impression on both her and the person who gave it to
her, so naturally I wanted to see what it had to offer me.

The story involves a dissatisfied young man who meets an old
millionaire who reveals to him the secrets of acquiring not just
material abundance, but also true wealth . . . it only took me
about two hours to read the 131 pages.

And in doing so, I kept thinking that the material was not
particularly new (for example, it reminded me of the Napoleon
Hill classic, THINK AND GROW RICH--among others) . . . but
that said, I still got value out of this book and would recommend
it to anybody seeking help in goal-setting.

It will help you determine what is or at least should be important in your life, then show you the way to obtain it . . . money, of course, can be one such objective . . . however, I also kept thinking that it can be applicable toward making career
choices, improving relationships, etc.

Furthermore, in reviewing my notes, I realize that there were
several memorable passages . . . among them:

But I'll give you the key to happiness. With this key you will be able to know beyond a shadow of a doubt at any time of your life if you are happy, if you are doing what it takes to make you happy. Ask yourself this: If I were to die tonight, could I tell myself at the instant of my death that I had accomplished everything I had set out to do that day?

The secret of happiness, therefore, is to live as if each day
was your last. And to live each day to the fullest by doing what you want to do. What you would do if your hours were numbered. Because, realistically, they are. We always seem to realize this when there's little time left. Then it's too late. So you must be courageous enough to act immediately. Live with this thought in mind: I refuse to die without having had the courage to do what I wanted to do. I don't want to die with the appalling thought that society tricked me, that it got the better of me and annihilated my dreams. You must not die with the dreadful felling that your fears were greater than your dreams and that you never discovered what you really enjoy. You must know how to dare.

But to find out whether your job really pleases you,
ask yourself this question: If I had a million dollars in the bank, right at this moment, would I continue doing the same job? Obviously, if your answer is no, you don't like it enough. Tell me, how many people would continue in the same occupation if they suddenly became millionaires? They are few and far between. And those who would answer yes to this question are generally already millionaires. Most of the millionaires I know refuse to retire. They go on working very late in life. I'd even go so far as to say that all millionaires, at least all self-made millionaires, made their fortunes precisely because they loved their work.

Summary: A gem of a book!
Review: An easy to read guide to improving your life. Your philosophy in life needs to be practical and that's where this book helps.

Forget philosophy books that you can barely understand let alone implement into your life!

"Every day in every way..." will do more for your state of mind than a year on anti-depressants. "Be still then and know that I am God" is not clearly explained in the book (ie, its purpose) but presumably it leads to calmness, reassurance and 'detachment'.

I'm still waiting to see long-term life-changing benefits from this book. However, I've had some brushes with intuition, some improved moods and so on. An interesting experiment to do on oneself.

Self-suggestion exercises are well worth doing. This book's comments regarding words being "omnipotent" is a truism most people are unaware of. A real nugget of truth.

Reading this book is a good idea. You'll probably read it repeatedly, in fact, like most of us have done after buying it. Then there are Mark Fisher's other books, no doubt all just as easy and enjoyable to read.

I could add more comments but I'm out of time. Overall, this book is helpful but I think we'll all need long-term perseverance to see our Think Big goals to come to fruition. Hang in there!

Summary: Excellent
Review: Brilliant book. It gave me the get up and go I needed to take control of my own financial destiny.

Summary: Good book with good advice but..
Review: Good book with good advice found in other get rich books but I must caution the reader that the language that it is written in is simple and uninspiring. The ideas are very good and simple to follow.

I would have liked it better if the author would have done a better job of writing it. This book lacks the inspirational qualities of books by authors like Og Mandino and Peale, though the message is similar.

Summary: It's eerie how well this works
Review: I first read this book five years ago. I was so impressed and excited by the book's principles that I urged several like-minded friends to buy the book, and I sat down and listed my goals and my plan to become a millionaire, more as a fun, silly exercise than anything else. (For fun, I bought myself and a good friend those fake but nice-looking million dollar bills, and we wrote ourselves checks for twenty-five million dollars!)

Five years later, it is positively CREEPY how those original goals are mysteriously coming true. I'm exactly where I'd told myself I would be -- I have a net worth of just over a quarter of a million dollars, and I'm on track to become a millionaire by age 30 -- which is just mind-blowing to me!

I recommend that you buy this book for the underlying principles, but also buy Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad, Poor Dad series. The Rich Dad books take the principles in the Instant Millionaire a step further and bridge the gap between what I call "the principles," which can seem kind of hocus-pocus if you don't understand why they work, and putting them into action.

A footnote...I had lost touch for a few years with one of the friends I'd urged to read this book (the one I gave the million-dollar bill to). We caught up with each other a few months ago (and have become close friends again), but I found out that she had never implemented the suggestions in the Instant Millionaire (I suppose they seemed too simplistic and too good to be true).

Sadly, she is still renting, still living paycheck-to-paycheck, and still in ever-mounting debt. She seemed impressed with my success (which I'm careful not to flaunt!) but seems to think it was all good luck, or specific career skills, or something. I hope I can convince her this time that she needs to READ AND APPLY THIS BOOK and she can experience the same mind-blowing success!!!

Summary: My life has changed completely believe me It really works!
Review: I had heard about goals. Read several books about it. Mark Fisher has given us a golden tool in a very simple way. You can glide throughout the book and you have to read it again and again. Each time you will discover a new thing, a new strategy, a new hint or rediscover something you knew about previously.

This book is a must at your bedside table.

"The Instant Millionnaire" is a written proof that the pen is mightier than the SWORD. WORDS are really powerful.

I've tried and I have succeeded.

Summary: Simple, yet powerful
Review: I have read other reviews with this book. Personally, I found the messaged contained herein to be very powerful, yet very simple. The problem I think most people have is that they want answers and methods to achieve something. This book, along with others I have read, enforces the belief that we all have the tools we need to be happy, wealthy and successful. If we would just recognize it. This books affirms the idea that it is your belief in you that causes your successes. Disbelief in yourself causes failures. Sure, it's a simple lesson, but how often do we forget it? This is one of those books to buy, read, put on the shelf, and read again when you stray from these messages. It can be a powerful gift for someone ready to accept the ideas and messages contained in it. Put it into practice. Put forth effort to actually set a goal and focus seeing yourself achieve it instead of spending the same amount of time convincing yourself how you won't achieve it.

Summary: A combination FABLE and HOW-TO guide that really works
Review: I have read some of the other reviews of this book and must chime in--with sincerity and without hype. I have recommended this book for the past three years.

The story is enjoyable, of course, but that is not all. Through this book I have learned and applied methods to achieve total wealth (not just financially) in my life.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Very good but often too simplistic.
Review: I have zoomed through this book in few hours and learned a great deal about becoming a millionare. However, this book is too simple. It need more strategies and details. Nothing compare to Napoleon Hill's teachings. This teaches only the fundamental aspects of earning money and not the depth of achieving happiness. Save yourself some money and go to library to read this book. You can finish it in 1 hour. Large fonts with only 131 pages.
