Rating: Summary: It was very eventful and intriging plus highly suspenseful Review: For a first time author with a book of this caliber, it's kind of exciting to see what he comes up with next. In the book he would build u up with all these great details and make the book interesting and exciting and then throws in a complete twist and you still stay interested in the book even though the book isn't the same.
Rating: Summary: Phat book for the millenium. Review: Generation X takes Eden by storm. Forming a community with what little the island gave them. Beautiful sunsets, massive amount of marijuana, freindships - relationships and tragedy all in one. It is also compulsive and clever for the young adults of the world.
Rating: Summary: The Beach is a sure trhill for all ages Review: This is a powerful, rich novel that assembles the nature of human animals in such a force that the reader feels pull in every aspect of the story. It analyzes the egotistical view of males's perspective, in a way you can't but help admiring it.
Rating: Summary: Interesting and easy to read. Review: Wickedly interesting, very hard to put down. Not very insightful, but it didn't need to be. The diverse characters and exciting plot kept the pages turning. The author caught the emotions and thoughts of a 20 something traveler very well. Definately worth reading.
Rating: Summary: The beach is an intense, action pact novel. Review: Garland explores many places in the Thailand vicinity with flashbacks comparing to the vietnam war. Garland and his companions find a genuine experience including other members of Generation X. We thought the beginning started off slow but when they begin their journey the plot takes off. It is a suprising reflection of Generation X unlike all other novels about people in their 20's.
