Review: We gave this book 4 Stars because there was always something happening that was so adventurous. You could never imagine what was going to happen next. There would be times that it would drag on, but something great would happen and it would always keep you interested. This book takes you places you never thought you would never be able to go. We recomend you read this book, coming from people who hate to read!

Review: The Beach was fascinating and full of suspense. The story was full of random happenings which was not expected. At times the story would drag on, but then something surprising would occur and it would keep me reading. The main character's thoughts and actions were sometimes extreme and irrational which made the book a good read.

Review: a novel that involves suspense and action. I enjoyed this book because it never had a dull moment, i felt it always kept me interested and ready to start a new chapter. If you like travel and new ways of life, then you will enjoy this book. I reccomend it and it was well written.

Review: The Beach was a good first novel for Alex Garland. The plot was unique and proved he has a style all his own. A bit drawn out and lacked important details in parts. Although a novel with mixed reviews, this book is reccommended to people who like to read and have the time to do so.

Summary: Just a great book.
Review: I found myself, when I was at work, unable to wait to get home to continue reading. I purposely did not take it to work with me because I was afraid I would be interrupted! Just an incredible read. I have a very good friend who went to Indonesia as a backpacker, and stayed. He is now, after traveling around, teaching english in Jakarta. I love this book.
