Summary: A book to read again and again!
Review: My grandmother gave me this book to read when I was a teenager, and in the 25 years since, I have read it over again many times. Gram told me how, as a girl, she and her friends read this book wrapped in brown paper so no one would know they were reading such a racy book! She thought it had been banned in Boston! Of course, that made it much more desirable. Each time I re-read "Amber," I feel differently about the character.

Summary: From a Marine's perspective
Review: My all-time favorite since high school (my knuckles only drag the ground some of the time). It's as suspenseful and gruesome at times as "The Forgotten Soldier". It's a book even a Marine would love to read.

Summary: The Gone With the Wind of Restoration England
Review: This book was given to me by my grandmother, and when I read it I was enchanted with the story, the characters are very human, not your typical heroine and villian, and it has very interesting and well researched historical facts. It is a beautiful book that gives you a view of human nature.

Summary: Forever Amber is still my all-time favorite novel.
Review: I first read Forever Amber as a teenager and adored it. The novel is so well written, that I could actually "feel" all the pain, sadness, or joy that Amber felt throughout the book, and even though the story is considerably long, I was so completely enchanted with the story that I didn't even notice. I have read this book a couple more times as an adult and have recommended it to many friends to read. To my extreme disappointment, the last time I lent my old, worn copy to someone, I never got it back! I don't care if people think the novel is "tame" according to today's romance novel standards. I still consider Forever Amber to be the best romance novel I have ever read.

Summary: a deffinite keeper from one generation to the next
Review: I've read this book at least three times in two different languages. Entertaining, almost poisoning and addicting book. One you will not put down until you're done with it. Now when I found it, I think I'll read it again.

Summary: A Book to Be Passed down from Generation to Generation
Review: At the age of 15 after the tragic death of my grandmother, my mother gave me "Forever Amber" to read she told me that this was a book that my grandmother gave to her when she was a teenager and that it was her time to pass it along to me. She said that if I was lucky enough to be blessed with a daughter that it was my obligation to pass it along to her. Once I stared reading it I could not put it down. Not knowing the background of the story it surprised me now, years later, when I'm looking to purchase a new copy to pass along to my daughter, that the book is so popular, that there are others who have experienced the happiness and the sorrows that my beloved Amber lived through. This book is the best romance that I have ever read, it touches readers in a way that no one can understand unless they read it. I will keep the story with me inside forever.

Summary: An unforgettable book that you'll cherish forever
Review: When I was sixteen and enamored with Gone With the Wind, my aunt told me about this book and loaned me hers to read. I have never forgotten this book and its power created a lasting link to my aunt who died of cancer quite young.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A must-have for historical romance readers.
Review: I found this book by chance years ago, and have not forgotten it. I passed it around to many friends, and never got it back! It's a great read for people who love historical romance, especially set in England. It remains one of my very favorites to this day.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Never a dull moment!
Review: "Gone With the Wind" set in 16th century England. Amber makes Scarlett O'Hara look tame. The characters are unloveable and self serving, but the reading is fascinating and the book is very well written. Even though the book is touted as a romance novel, I'm a guy who found it great reading.
