Summary: A Boring book By a GREAT WRITER
Review: This book starts off good, but gets worse and worse! The title lead me to believe it was about the Titanic and I mean hardly! But Cussler is a good writer and many of his books are great. This book just wasn't interesting.

Summary: this book is pathetically stupid.
Review: I just read all the reviews of this book... it has great writing, i agree, it's pretty interesting, okay, but five stars??? give me a break. This book is about the lamest excuse for a historical fiction novel i've ever seen. Right off the bat it's improbable. And "WetSteel"? What the hell is that all about? Anyway, this book drove me completely bonkers because i've studied the "titanic" explicitly and any moron with half a brain knows that there is no 300 foot gash in the side of the sunken ocean liner. And, more obviously, that it would be completely impossible to "raise the titanic" because it's lying in two seperate pieces! Maybe other people can stand reading historical inaccuracies, but if you're like me, and seeing something incorrect bothers you, do NOT read this book...it'll make you want to scream with frustration from the very beginning.

Summary: I couldn't put it down, but at the end I was disappointed.
Review: It was a riveting book with the many plot twists and sub-plots. But the transformation of Mrs. Seagram was very disappointing and the depression for Mr. Seagram was the last straw. Don't think I'll be trying another Cussler.

Summary: The book that hooked me on Cussler!
Review: I read this book over 15 yrs ago in school, (liked it so much I kept the book!) Have reread several times, and still never looses any of its spark. With all the recent Titanic mania, this book is a must read for anyone interested in a similar genre'.

Summary: WOW, WHAT A BOOK!
Review: My third adventure with Dirk Pitt. Cussler does a great job of putting the "Titanic" in your imagination. The action is non-stop and edge-of-your-seat reading. Keep the books coming!

Summary: Hooked on Cussler's Books
Review: The book was wonderful! I especially enjoyed the description of the Titanic coming out of the water. When I saw this scene on big screen, the hair on the back of my neck stood on end! I would love to see Pitt and the rest of NUMA crew on big screen! Any chance Mr. Cussler?

Summary: One of Cussler's best
Review: As with many other reader's, this was my first taste of Clive Cussler. Having had an interest in the whole Titanic episode, it was like living a dream come true-almost seeing the great liner once again plow across the ocean. While it will never happen, the book does such a good job at giving the feel of the event happening. It is here that Cussler excels. He can intertwine fictional characters with historic events, weaving a tale which can't be set down. This was the book that hooked me, and made me such a fan of Cussler's.

Summary: Don`t miss out on this classic Dirk Pitt adventure!
Review: Absolutely brilliant. This, like many readers, was the first Clive Cussler adventure I read, at the age of 12, and I`ve read it again recently. A story which is still enthralling and still impossible to put down. Another ideal intorduction for those new to Clive Cussler. The prose is fast and simple, the technicalities are explained so as those new to reading about oceanographic research, be it fact or fiction, can understand and the pacing is damn hard to beat! Altogether, a plot packed with intrigue and suspense, superb set-pieces and `special effects` , and Dirk Pitt`s dry cool with and resolve to save the day yet again! For anyone who has seen the movie adaptation and not read the book - the book is a billion times better! Buy this now!

Summary: Best known sea tragedy gets the Dirk Pitt treatment.
Review: The problem with combining the Titanic and Dirk Pitt, is that the event is to well known. Cussler's most successful books have dealt with those legendary or mythical events which can be elaborated with out every historian crying "foul"

The fact that a movie was made of this novel gives creedance to the subject matters mass appeal. It remains however, the most unfulfilling of the Dirk Pitt adventures in reference to pure escapism.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Action at its best
Review: Raise the Titanic has the reader glued to his/her seat. With each page teasing you with the next, Clive Cussler fasinates you with action and suspense. His superhero Dirk Pitt could be you or someone you know. He uses his logic as his most potent weapon. Once you read this book, you can't wait to read another in the Dirk Pitt series.
