Rating: Summary: Better than White Shark Review: Some of the reviewers have said that this is too much like White Shark. In a way it is, but not much. Part of what makes this such a great story is that you don't even know what the creature looks like until you reach the last chapter. Why this isn't selling more copies is beyond me. I'm not much for reading in general, but this book will get me started.
Rating: Summary: A good thriller. My thoughts... Review: This book begins during World War II. There is a doctor trying to escape from Germany. He gets on a submarine and brings a large coffin. On their way out of the country, they get attacked and sin k. In 1996, a photographer goes on a deep-sea dive to take pictures. Before the surface, they see the sunken U-boat. They go over and lift the coffin on to the boat. The man opens the coffin, which lets the creature escape. Simon Chase owns the Osprey Island Marine Institute. On the small island people start getting killed mysteriously. The people on the island realize the importance of killing this creature and intend to do it. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good sci-fi horror novel. It is somewhat gory and scary. It will keep you on your toes. If you liked Peter Benchley's "Jaws" then you will like this. It is a good, thrilling story that you wont want to put down.
Rating: Summary: Unique plot with an interesting twist on "Jaws" genre! Review: This book is quick and easy-to-read. The premise of the story is based on the cruel human experimentation conducted by the Nazi Regime. A human killing machine was created and accidentally lost in the depths of the sea where it rested for years until accidentally discovered. After its escape, the creature goes on a killing spree...and the story begins! In all, the book is easy to read and enjoyable, but doesn't require much concentration to follow and is easy to put down/pick back up.
Rating: Summary: Munch on this Review: This is an awesome book for those who like sea creatures and suspense. Some of his other books are better but this is a must read for shark lovers. It has a uniques twist to it and a great story line.
Rating: Summary: Pretty well written(SPOILERS AHEAD) Review: This is book, which I thought was going to be perfect, since I saw the miniseries a while back, but is was not perfect. Allow me to explain. 1945:oceanic area: a german U-boat crashes. 1994:same oceanic area: a camara man discovers a mysterious U-boat and a crate. The crate is taken to the boat. He opens it, hoping to get better shots than the press. He then, "gets the strange sensation he is getting eaten". 1994:same area: Chase is tracking a great white. Soon, after the deaths of 2 men, a deer, and lotsa dolphins and gulls with claw marks, he thinks there is something else ahead. He's right. A half-shark, half-man is killing things, on land and in water. It is up to him to stop it. Overall, the story is pretty orignal, but features few plot twists. It is extremely predictable in many parts. But, in a few other spots, the most unlikely happens. Other than the predictable parts, it is pretty good. Benchley does an excellant job at devolping the chracters. He provides lots of background information, though it is tedious to read how his ex-wife looked in a bikini in high school. He provides lots more useless information like that throughout the book. He also give lots of excess information. He gives you the feeling "I did not want to know that". Besides that, the chracters. The book has lots of action, but it can get very boring. he almost has TOO much action. Well, not action, but killing. He goes VERY in-depth on the gore. So if you are squimish, avoid this book. Overall, this novel is OK. Aside from the predictibality, useless information, and killings, this book is good. Read it at the beach(if you dare). It is VERY scary. Read it.

Rating: Summary: B+ A fun read. Review: This was a fun, quick read. Not too in depth. Not shallow either. Jaws with a twist of lemon. Had a fine ending. Easy to get into. I am not a fast reader and I read it in six leisurely days. I recommend it if you liked Jaws. Very Jawsesque.
Rating: Summary: Deserves every star it gets, and then some. Review: When I had first gotten this book, I'd put it off to the side for a while. But when I finally picked it up, I couldn't put it down. The reason I wanted the book in the first place was because I missed half the miniseries because of a storm. But the way the book read, there's no way the movie was better. The book was interesting in that it helped understand the ocean and the creatures that live there, plus and interesting plot, and characters that you feel like you've known them your whole life. If you want to read one book at the beach this summer, this is it, but don't plan on going into the water.
