LOOSE ENDS - is the sequel, Ms. Electa Rome Parks leaves no Ties Bind in this novel! Brice, Christian, and Mia are back with surprises, success, excitement, love, betrayal, misfortunes and pain. Five years has past and a lot has changed. There lives are different and filled with brand new meanings. However some things never change, they just lie dormant waiting for the right opportunity to release it all! The Ties That Bind is about to unravel, challenging all those Loose Ends!
Loose Ends - Brice has a business that he is determined to build. Christian works long hours managing a hectic business and Mia is an elementary school teacher. Now there is Kree a splitting image of Mia? Who is she? She is vibrant, talented, dedicated, madly in love, and has no idea how strong the knot that Ties the Bind really is! Coincidentally, neither does, (Brice, Christian, and Mia)! They all soon find out after having to face their past, present, fears and secrets.
The Ties That Bind and Loose Ends, begins with friendship, fun, love, secrets, then they are tied-up with an ending that will leave you in shock, breathless, applauding, and smiling all in one.
You must read both books! Well Written I truly enjoyed both titles
Rating: Summary: Another Fast Read Review: A key indication that I have been pulled into a book by the outuput of emotion I feel. Loose Ends had me angry, sad, happy. As I read along, I questioned how Mia could be so stupid. But, we all know women who can be distracted and pulled into a man's web of destruction. I believe the connection to each of the characters is what made this such a fast read. The fact that Mia would take the chance on ruining something with someone who risked so much himself was so crazy. I even found myself sad at the end of the book when just chapters prior I had been cursing him (smile). What a great, fast read! I recommend this book to those who like to curl up with a good book on a cold, wintery night. Althought I know there will be a new cast of characters and plot, I'm waiting for book #3.
Rating: Summary: Loose Ends unravel from time to time... Review: After an approximate year and a half wait, the much-anticipated second book Loose Ends has hit shelves, and it is every bit as dramatic, hot and steamy as its predecessor, The Ties that Bind. Author, Electa Rome Parks has the gift and she's certainly using it with her second novel. The characters Brice, Mia, and Christian are back along with Brice's second wife Kree. Loose Ends is so well written that I was immediately drawn back into the characters and my love/hate relationship with them flourished. I was most impressed that this book kept this reader engaged until the very last page. No figuring out what was going to happen, until you read it... believe that!Continuing on in the vein of a "modern day love story with a twist", Loose ends really winds up. Brice and Mia are divorced and Mia has married his best friend Christian. Brice has also remarried, a lovely lady who could be Mia's younger sister, Kree. All have relocated and settled down in Atlanta. The focus, after the turmoil that the three friends have faced, is the realization that it is time to reunite the lifelong friendship between Brice and Christian. Can it be done? How will Mia and Kree react to each other? How will Christian take to his friend who treated his wife so horribly? Told from the individual voices of four of the characters, Ms. Parks has added just enough sizzle to keep you hot, enough intrigue to keep you guessing, enough selfishness to make you mad, all backed by excellent story telling. Mia and Christian have an adorable daughter named Lyric and a fulfilling life together. Brice will always be Brice and Kree is the seemingly submissive wife, totally accepting of his behavior but I wouldn't call their relationship happy. Things aren't always as they seem however and Brice has major control issues. Stemming from a hard childhood, these issues have never been explored professionally and the ramifications of his actions moves this story down an unexpected path that had me up all types of day and night to finish.
Rating: Summary: An Unforgettable Reunion Review: After the near fatal incident five years ago, Mia, Brice, and Christian are back and the connection is even more complicated! Loose Ends, by Electa Rome Parks continues the memorable saga from her debut novel, The Ties That Bind, but this time with the determination of closure. While still suffering internally from the mental, emotional, and physical damage Brice forced upon her, Mia is now trying to lead a fulfilled life with her new husband, Christian and daughter, Lyric. Her heart is completely devoted to Christian, but temptation takes a toll, placing her close to a position of total destruction. Christian yearns for the friendship and brotherly love that has subsided between him and Brice years ago. He knows how Mia feels about Brice and is willing to continue life with this void until receiving a letter requesting a meeting with his long lost friend. Christian decides to persuade Mia to meet with Brice and finally put an end to their past. There is only one thing, are Brice's intentions truly admirable like he says? Controlling demands are only a few things Kree has to deal with until she comes face-to-face with a woman who could be her twin. Left in the dark for years about her husband Brice's past, Kree is determined to keep her family together, even if she has to befriend his ex-wife. Taking readers through a realistic tale filled with marital compromises, betrayal, and controversy, Loose Ends opens up a multitude of choices, leaving the readers to second guess their own decisions if placed in similar situations. Rating: Summary: WTH, ONCE AGAIN? Review: I can not believe that Mia would even think about messing with Brice again. I was so upset with her. Christian was a good man and I think everyone is going to like him. Kree is the one I felt bad for. She had no idea of the type of man Brice really was and when she found out she still stuck by him. Hmmm. The end of this was very interesting.
Rating: Summary: Caught up in Loose Ends Review: I felt like I was gossipping with my best friends about the lives of Mia, Christian, Brice, and Kree. I may not have agreed with how the plot twisted and turned, but I was riveted and enraptured! Electa did a great job!
Rating: Summary: Good but rushed Review: I read this book in a day. I loved 'The Tie That Binds' and thought Ms. Parks did a good job in describing everything. The sequel however felt very rushed at the end. Kinda fairy-taleish but a good read. I found myself rushing through the pages anxious to find out what happened next. I don't like the fact that Mia gave Brice so much control over her regardless f her past. It seemed like everyone in the book was scared of Brice for some reason. I would've rather read about the relationship with Mia and her young daughter and Mia and her mother. I wasn't sure about Kree in all this but then again it's difficult for me to relate to abusive relationships. All and all I enjoyed the book but would've rather Ms. Parks go into a little more detail. One chapter Brice and Mia are making love and the next he's dead? Could be suicide but who knows (she never gets into that). I just wanted more to the story. Save your money. Buy 'And On The Eigth Day She Rested' by JD Mason instead. Get this from the library.
Rating: Summary: Finishing What Ties Started Review: LOOSE ENDS by Electa Rome Parks takes off where THE TIES THAT BIND left off. Readers are re-united with Mia, Christian, and Brice. Mia is married to Christian and they have a life filled with love. Mia couldn't be more ecstatic until she starts having nightmares. Nightmares that remind her of the terror that Brice put her through when she was married to him. Christian misses the close brotherly bond he had with Brice, so when Brice reaches out to him after years of not speaking to one another, he is thrilled. Mia doesn't feel like it's a good idea, but she will do anything to make Christian happy. Reluctantly she agrees to meet with Brice and his new bride, Kree. Brice appears to have changed, but as we read more about him and Kree's relationship, we see Brice is still controlling and abusive. Whenever Kree decides to think for herself or speak up for herself, Brice quickly reminds her who is in control. Kree begins to harbor feelings of anger and jealousy against Mia because she's Brice's first wife. After the couples initial meeting, things become easier. Mia has to fight the attraction and bond that exists between herself and Brice. What happens as these two couples lives entwine? Ms. Parks throws in a few twists and turns that will make your mouth drop. If you read The Ties That Bind, you don't want to miss this page-turning continuation -- LOOSE ENDS puts closure to the Mia, Brice, and Christian love triangle. Readincolor Reviewers Shelia Goss
Rating: Summary: Tying up some Loose Ends Review: Mia thought her dealings with her abusive ex-husband was finally over. Happily married to his former best friend, Christian, and proud mother of a beautiful daughter, Mia thought she had it made. But when Christian receives a letter from Brice, asking for a reunion, Mia's world comes tumbling down.
Brice now re-married to the beautiful, Kree has relocated to Atlanta and is determine to start a new life. Meeting Christian and Mia again is on the top of his To Do list and is thrill when they agree to a get together. But seeing Mia brings back fond memories of the life they once share and Brice hopes Mia feels the same way. A testament to her writing skills, Parks had me wrap up in the characters' lives without realizing it. After reading "Loose Ends" I plan to pick up the first title by this author soon.

Rating: Summary: IF YOU CAN'T BE WITH THE ONE YOU LOVE! Review: Ms. Parks has DONE IT AGAIN!!! Talk about an awesome sequel, Loose Ends is just that AWESOME! You know a book is a winner when you read it in one sitting. I tried to put the book down, but couldn't. Loose Ends brings back "3 The Hard Way" (Brice, Mia and Christian) added to the fold is Kree. Kree is young, beautiful and heading down the road Mia ventured in The Ties That Bind. Loose Ends opens several years later with Mia and Christian living a wonderful life in the ATL. Brice returns to the states after living abroad with a new wife in tow, Kree. Get ready... Loose Ends will have you screaming (and often times saying bad words) at the characters. Right when you think you have the plot mapped out, Ms. Parks throws a curve at you and causes you to say "just one more chapter, then I'll put the book down". In actuality you won't want to put the book down until the very bitter end. And what an ending it is!! You'll find yourself asking "Do bad things happen to good people" OR "Do bad intentions destroy good people" Ms. Parks has found her niche in the writing department and I "personally" have become an FOL (Fan for Life). I am eagerly awaiting her next MASTERPIECE!
