Summary: Totally Disappounted
Review: After reading the online reviews I was so excited to read this book. I was certain that this was going to be a page turner that I would be sure to recommended to my book club. Boy, was I ever wrong. I hate to be critical of an author's work but this book was just terrible. It was just a horrible story line with totally unbelievable turns and twists. Not to mention, the only interesting twist "the secret under the bed" was left unanswered. The only reason I kept reading the book was because I knew it had to get better at some point. Was I ever wrong. One of, if not the worst Christian fiction I have ever read.

Summary: Kudos!
Review: I just finished reading this novel. I am writing this under a hidden name because of my celebrity status. I, too, had an affair with a married man for several years which I just recently got out of. I had a feeling that this book was going to deal with this subject matter as well as other fleshly lustful things and I didn't want to hear it at that time. She was not preachy or condemning about it and for that I am grateful. As a matter of fact, she "kept it real." Actually, I condemned myself. A job well done. I know a lot of these characters, especially Reverend William Braxton.

I would like to tell you ladies, just like she's told me...if you meet a man, ask him if he's married. If he is, then please walk away before your heart and emotions become involved. If you don't, then it will be too hard and/or too late to walk away. Take my advise because I have lived it and it is very painful in the end and it destroys innnocent lives and many marriages.

I know that you will thoroughly enjoy this wonderfully interesting, pleasurable and amusing read. Her courageous work is to be commended and I, along with other authors, welcome her.

Summary: Can I Give 10 Stars?
Review: I never heard of this author, but I saw the book and the cover told an interesting story. I thought the author was a white female, but when I flipped through the book, I saw her picture on the back and was surprised that she was a black woman. I took a seat in the coffee shoppe area of the bookstore and read the entire prologue. It drew me completely. I decided to take my chance on this book and had crossed my fingers that the author could keep and hold my attention throughout the book.

The story read more like a real life situation drama more than a story-told novel, which is really a plus. It takes a certain writing talent to accomplish this. I was amazed how she wrote each chapter leading up to the successful climax. There have been many books that I have purchased because the cover was alluring. Unfortunately, when I've read them, I was disappointed. But Lust Of Flesh is a book where I can truly say you can judge this book by its cover. It is worth every penny of its price. I am on pins and needles to find out what happens next.

Summary: Shazam!
Review: I posted a review earlier and it didn't post for some reason. But remember the comedy Gomer Pyle? Remember how he'd become surprised or delighted and would always say "SHAZAMM!?" Well, that's how I felt when I read this book. I read some of the earlier reviews and let me assure you that by no means is this a Christian Fiction Novel. It has a Christian overtone and is in the same category as Danielle Steel and Jackie Collins novels. It's a story about a family torn apart due to the husband's infidelities. Several years later and through many unfortunate life circumstances, one of the estranged children incidentially meets his family through a social church setting when he becomes the corrupted Pastor of the church. Each chapter is climatic of the other. A winning novel that leaves you wanting more.

Summary: A GREEK god
Review: I read her guide book WOMAN TAKE YOUR POSITION first and found this book to be a compliment to it. Lust of the Flesh demonstrates how the lustful spirit takes hold of ones mind, body and soul. Although I found myself laughing at some of the incidents, I found myself crying at others. Big Blue knew there was something special about his daughter Paula and he looked up to her and trusted the relationship she had with God which in his heart he made a secret silent prayer when he stated "I sho hope she be right." Well a lot went wrong and Nick was the vulture that manuvered and conned his desires of wanting to be a god in everybody's life but, there seems to be something about his heart, I havent figured it out perhaps the sequence will tell. Ms Rolyat wrapped this novel with some deep soul, medical, culture, prison, religion and mental studies to bring the characters alive.
Poor Ely, what is ahead for her? Ben, what is he? Rico...calm down! BaBruh ooooooooh BaBruh! Nick, needs help??? I really did enjoy the novel and was sad when I reached the end, cant wait for the sequence because this girl have an inquiring mind. Kudos to the author for bringing in entertainment along with educational and enlightening experiences.

Summary: Ahhhhh ---- Why'd U Do This To Me????????
Review: I'm a first time Amazon reviewer. I place reviews on Barnes & Noble. Rolyat has put together a great story. All of the characters intertwined so beautifully and so unpredictably. Page after page after page is full of anxiousness to find out what's ahead. The writing is flawless, the characters are three dimensional, the excitement level is overflowing. What I want to know is WHAT WAS UNDER THE DARN BED??????? I have my suspicions, but I want to know for sure. The questions asked in the readers discussion guide were ON TARGET! I can't wait to find out the answers to them ALL in the sequel. Hope this author comes to the New England area soon. I want to get my book signed. I wish I had it in hardback because I loaned my paperback book out to so many people and you can imagine the condition it came back in (coffee and softdrink stains, food stains, cover corners frizzled). We all agree that this is unquestionably a show-stopping, blockbuster novel. Like Mr. T would say, "I pitty the fool who doesn't read it." Oh, one more thing ... I would have liked to read more about Big Blue and Miss Lilly because without them, there would be no story. Three Cheers for Big Blue and Miss Lilly and congrats to the author for telling their family story and teaching us a valuable life lesson.

Summary: From Lust to Dust
Review: Lust of the Flesh, by Beverly Rolyat, is the story of two men and the way their lives become intertwined and ultimately destroyed because of their desires. Big Blue's wife, Lily, is a good church going woman but despite Lily's devotion to her family and God, Big Blue cannot control his desires to seek pleasure outside of his marriage.

Nick Allapapalaus, Assistant District Attorney, and playboy extraordinaire has been married five times. Despite his many wives, Nick cannot satisfy his insatiable desire for women and stops at nothing to get them; even though he is a prominent member of his church.

In Big Blue's case the sins of the father have devastating effects on his off spring, and in Nick's case everything he touches eventually turns to dust - including the lives of Big Blue's adult children who attend the same church as he.

Although I understood the message of this book very well, I often became confused as to who the author intended her audience to be. Even though the book was supposed to be Christian in nature, this book read like any other erotic book on the shelves. Not only did the book contain a lot of erotic material, it contained an over abundance of cuss words as well.
Occasionally, there was reference to how the story was biblically related, but it was not until the end that Rolyat made her point by preaching to the reader and listing STDs. This book could have been an exceptional witnessing tool had it been presented in a less explicit (even though the theme was how unholy sex destroys lives) and a more concise manner.

There are two types of audiences this book may be of interest to: (1) People who enjoy inspirational fiction and do not mind excessive cuss words and erotica; or (2) People who enjoy erotic urban/street lit and do not mind being preached to.

If you fall into either of the above categories, this book may be of interest to you.

Summary: Powerful Novel
Review: Okay Ms. Author. I'm just a country girl who loves to read and I had to take some time to write about this novel which is something that I don't do because most of the books I've read are about the same things such as romance, baby momma drama, sister-girlfriend, stories from da hood, gangbanging, etc.

What a great way to deliver a powerful message through an engaging and compelling page-turning novel. You've gained my attention. The characters are some folks in and out of my church! You described them to a "T". Busted and uncovered! Willie is really and truly a man that I know. I know that I don't know you or haven't met you, but is this novel based on members of my church and my personal family? If not, you could've fooled me. When I saw a reflection of my OLD self (the old man in me) in the character Susan, all I could say was "thank you Jesus for bringing me out!" Those of you who have already read this book and those who will read it, you'll know what I'm talking about if you find yourself somewhere in her. Umph, umph, umph! This book is so good. I was mad because it had to come to an end. I'm screaming for the sequel.

When I finished, I let my friendgirl read it and she said she enjoyed it until she got to the end of the story and read the Reflections page. She felt that it could have been left off but I let her know that it was necessary to read that part of the book as well so that she can see herself and review her lifestyle. She agreed with me when I told her about Romans 8:1 - "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." God was truly with the author when she wrote this clever, non-judgmental, non-preachy novel. She was just keeping it real and not coating it with sugar and spice. She just wrote about the way people really are--lifestyle, language and all. I truly appreciate that.

Even though this novel has profanity and sex scenes, I think every teenager and young adult should read this. It is a great learning tool. If parents let their children read books like Coldest Winter Ever, they should let them read this book too because the message is just as strong and necessary. It is a life changing message. I've already recommended it to the women and girls in my church and on my job and in my family. As a matter of fact, I had ordered another copy from Amazon to put in my hair shop and when my customers starts reading it, they want to take it home to finish, but I can't let them because the other customers when they return for their next appointment, wants to pick up where they left off. I always tell them to get their own copy because its worth it with all the special information it offers.

I'm glad I passed by her booth at the hair show and bought this book. I only regret that it took me this long to pick it up to read. Had I known it was going to be this good, I would not have hesitated to read it. I'm going to check out her other books and read everything she has in print and anxious to read her future books.

If you're looking for a different read, away from the same old, same old books, read this book. It's drastically different and has a lot to offer and you'll find yourself caught up in the pages until the last page is read. Beyond outstanding. Bravo to you Ms. Royal.
