Rating: Summary: Unforgettable family drama Review: Talented new author. Crisp, strong, raw writing. In some ways similar to Alice Walker (Color Purple).

Rating: Summary: Where Has This Author Been? Review: This author has outdone herself. Best book, best book, best book I've read. It came recommended to me and I purchased it but put it on the shelf to read others. I wish I had read this one earlier because those others could not compare to this novel. People, ya'll need to read this novel. It's simply delicious. It has a little bit for every reader in every genre. And everybody will walk away with the same educational message. Never have I read a novel like this before. I can't wait for the sequel which I heard will be released this year. And by the way, another good family-church drama is The Preacher's Son by Carl Weber.
Rating: Summary: An Explosive Novel Review: This book was DY-NO-MITE! I really admire and enjoyed how the author broke down each Chapter. The characters were well written -- as though you knew them. I LOVED the way Ms. Rolyat outlined Bra'Bruh and left us wondering . . . until one day . . . . The novel flowed beautifully and leaves you wanting more. I was really sad when I got to the end because I wanted to continue to visit the characters. I can't wait for the sequel. This novel was so informative until it made me think about my way of life. It has really changed my way of thinking and when a novel can do this, then the author has done his or her job. Well done Ms. Beverly. I definitely recommend your novel. One of the best novels I've read in 2004 (even for the past 10 years for that matter).
Rating: Summary: Great Title And A Great American Novel Review: This novel should be read by every college student, church goers, office workers, inmates, and others. In other words, everybody needs to read this novel. The most informative, entertaining and undoubtedly the best novel I have ever read where when I closed the book, it made me say, "oh my goodness --I need to check myself." I loved the insightful chapter on September 11. It really makes you think why 9-11 took place and why all of those lives were lost. I loved the way the author created a character in the beginning by the name of Ba'Bruh and gave suspense to his character. I love how she showed us ourselves in a mirror glass without condemning, preaching or pointing the fingers at us. Ms. Royalt is a very clever writer. I loved everything about this book -- from the moment I read the first word all the way to the last word. Thank you to the reviewers who recommended this book to us readers.
