Summary: WON'T BE MY LAST JAMES PATTERSON NOVEL
Review: I saw the movie version of this novel when it was first released, and although I enjoyed both Morgan Freeman & Ashley Judd's performances, I personally gave it **1/2 stars. A friend of mine just suggested that I read the novel...& I completed it in 2 days! It has been a while since I've read anything that was that much of a page turner, and although I was well aware of most of the storyline -- thanks to the movie -- I was still thrilled by it. And since I work in forensics and evidence in law enforcement, I was especially intrigued by it. (I'm always curious to see how much the author really knows about police work). This was my introduction to the Alex Cross character -- who was a refreshing change, although admittedly I saw & heard Morgan Freeman in every scene -- and I'm looking forward to reading his other adventures.

Summary: NOT SO IMPRESSIVE
Review: This is the first JP book I have read. I found the start to middle portion quite slow & dragging. A string of kidnappings/murders took place. A litle "ho-hum". I also found the villains really SICK. Are they believable? I vividly remember one scene of "Cassanova" with Ann Miller so DISGUSTING! For those of you who haven't read it, let me describe it briefly...Cassanova tied his victim's legs on the ceiling posts with leather straps with nothing on but a necklace. He then poured milk in her a-hole & let a snake slither in. Isn't that the most disgusting thing you've ever heard? Well, I don't know if he intended to make his villain really scary or he sure has a very imaginative (???) mind. Dr. Kate sure is a strong-willed person but it's just quite unbelievable to see her escape death several times. I also noticed some editing errors. For instance, in the earlier portion of the book, the author described Dr. Kate to have blue eyes. Then somewhere in the middle when she & Alex Cross were having one of their mushy stuff, he described her to have blue eyes. I almost did not notice it except that my book's coverpage had Judd Nelson with brown eyes. So how's that? The latter portion of the story was quite fast & exciting but I found the end not so climactic.

I can't believe I stayed up two late nights & suffered from stiff neck & shoulder to finish the book & just feel this way. It's quite disappointing.

Summary: Lets see the movie.
Review: I found this book to be very suspenseful. It kept me on the edge of my seat. The author used lots of detail to describe what importace and how the character felt about things that were happening throughout the story. This book was very well written and I would like to read more books from the same author. I can't wait to see the movie.

Summary: Kind of disappointed
Review: Well, I saw the movie first, and usually, I like the books better than the movies. However, the book started out okay, but the ending was too weird. I wish that the ending in the book was like the ending in the movie. The movie's ending was obviously a lot more scarier and more difficult to figure out. The book was too predictable. What I don't like in this book is that it took the detectives so long to go out and find the disappearing house. You know that Kate came out of the house, jumped into a river, obviously nearby, but instead of using that information and staking out the entire woods, which could have been done by police and what-not, they spent precious time flying to LA. Finding out the information that they found by breaking into homes and staking out the guys obviously didn't help them find the house. One day, they just decide to look for it after women were already killed and one had to go through having a snake shoved up her butt! Now that was pretty sick

Summary: An UNCONTROLABLE Read!!!!!!!!
Review: I never really read until a friend said here read this and tell me what you think. Well needless to say I was awstruck by the way this man wrote, he has this way of captivating your mind so that you don't want to put the book down, for any reason!!! The way that he jumps from one characters mind to another is just unbelievable. He writes so that in three chapters you know how each character's mind works, and in doing this you want to find out what there thinking next, so you end up doing this by reading more and more until finally your at the end, but the whole time it just holds on to you. I have now read JACK & JILL and I am currently working on finishing CAT & MOUSE. In short this is one EXCELLENT book!

Summary: Brilliant concept, at a fast pace
Review: Once again Patterson comes up with an un-put-downable book. Alex Cross returns, this time it is entirely personal. Two serial killers appear to be "twinning", sharing information. Once you start... you can't stop.

Summary: A fantastic thriller from James Patterson
Review: This is the first James Patterson book I have read, and now intend to read ALONG CAME A SPIDER. Why? The thrill in this book is unbeliaveable. Not one but TWO serial killers hunting in the U.S. This book gave me nightmares. With KISS THE GIRLS, James Patterson has gone into the league of such great horror/mystery writers Caleb Carr and Thomas Harris. A great book.

Summary: Unstoppably Suspenseful!!
Review: James Patterson has overtaken the suspense and excitement that was once John Grisham. Having purchased this book as a chance read, i couldn't put it down. It isn't just another cop vs serial killer chase either. The detective work, and minor romantic element play second to the actual action of killer no.1 and killer no.2. Short chapters in the book make it for an exciting and heart pounding read. All leading up to the climax, that seemed to sustain itself for the remainder of the book. **Excellent**

Summary: Patterson goes from strength to strength
Review: With Along Came A Spider the public had a new talent to talk about with wonder and amazement. Patterson does not fail to exicte and frighten in his follow up. One of the most chilling and cleverly executed novels I have had the pleasure of reading. Good enough to attract the attention of Hollywood film makers. Here's to more of the same fine stuff.
