Summary: An excellent Myron Bolitar adventure
Review: This is the first Myron Bolitar I have read. It was an excellent read. Mystery lovers will be thrilled. The story was tight and well written. The character development was fantastic. I loved the humor and the relationships the characters all have with each other. I've since read all of the Myron Bolitar books and loved all of them.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A GREAT BOOK
Review: This novel is one of the best mystery novels that I have ever read. The charecters are very enjoyable and fun to read about. There is no one even close to Coben besides Lehane and Crais, but I enjoy his books more. I sit down and read this book front to back and did not put it down till I was done. The only thing that I would like to see in upcoming novels is a bigger part by Win. But this book is still a very enjoyable read.

Summary: A pleasant read
Review: This was my first exposure to Mr. Coben's Myron Bolitar. I found that I liked the character, and the story stood up well on it's own, despite being another in a series. The writer has a smooth, easy to read, style that retains your attention. The characters contained some stereotypes, but all in all, they were believable. Not having read any previous Bolitar adventures, I was anxious for him to break with the old girlfriend and explore the possibilities of the new. Brenda was a refreshing breath of air, going against the typical racial & sexual stereotypes. I was saddened with the ending. I recommend this book, and I believe I will be reading other Bolitar adventures in the future.

Summary: No false moves here
Review: This was my first helping of Harlan Coben, but it definitely won't be my last. If you like Crais and Lehane, you should definitely give Coben a try. Myron Bolitair is a great character, a tough, wisecraking guy on the outside, but vulnerable and sensitive at heart. The rest of the characters are interesting as well. The plot is fast paced, with lots of twists, and a susprising ending. Good descriptions of the setting, and many interesting observations as well. I definitely look forward to reading the rest of the series. This really is a book that will grab you, so make sure you have a few hours free before you start it.

Summary: Basketball Stars In This Latest Whodunit
Review: What if you were a former professional basketball star, and your knees were your worst enemies and your former coach turned up missing?

Myron Bolitar turns to running a professional sports agency, and at the urging of friends, seeks to protect the premier basketball princess, whose Dad just happens to be the missing coach. Myron is interested in three things: protecting/defending the young star against possible charges of murder, signing her as a lucrative addition to his successful agency and possibly forming a love interest with the beautiful and intelligent lady, now that his own on again-off again relationship is on the skids.

Interwined with this hydra-headed purpose, is the fact that some very unpleasant mobsters are out to sign the same basketball star, and will stop at nothing to get what they want. Plus, the young woman's mother has been missing for a number of years, and was the only witness, or first to find the body of a prominent man's wife, something the Police have termed an accidental death. The fact the man is now running for governor, makes it extra hard for Bolitar to get any sort of a handle on what happened so many years ago, and exposes him to the ire of the political handlers as well.

Assisting the dashing Bolitar, is the nearly sociopathic Yuppie, Win, who delights in the sort of visceral violence that belies his Ivy League appearance. Win always seems to be in the right place at just the time Myron is hurting the most, and proves to be useful in solving this nasty nest of murder, cover-ups, kidnappings and other actions most foul.

Crisp writing style, with dashes of humor, and character insight make this a most enjoyable read, and a highly recommended addition to the Myron Bolitar series.

Summary: Stunning Ending
Review: Wow. As a long time Spenser and Matthew Scudder fan, I finally decided to try out some new series based on their flashy covers in Wal Mart (Sorry, that's the way I wind up picking 'em). This was my first Coben book. At first, I was put off by the third person narrative, but then I got into Coben's quirky commentary on the action and drawn into a story where I thought all along, "this is so obvious......" As it turns out, what I thought was so obvious was indeed true, but sometimes the truth isn't always what it appears to be, as revealed in the wonderful final chapters. Coben managed to do something Robert Parker hasn't done in years, make me put down a book and say simply...... D*mn! A master puts his book together in a way that you never figure it out, but the ending makes perfect, simple sense. And One False Move does just that. Highly Recommended.
