Rating: Summary: Thriller, gripping stuff Review: Absolutely spellbound! Especially the tense actions at sea between Red October and USS Dallas! Wonderful, well written book. MORE Jack Ryan series, please. Why not consider a TV series based loosely on CIA Analyst Jack Ryan and the espionage world????? All in all, a great book to read. Hard to put down! Believe me!
Rating: Summary: One Good Book Review: This was a great book. One of the best books that I have ever read (or "red") the only thing that surpasses it is "The Cardinal of the Kremlin"
Rating: Summary: One Great Suspenseful Read! Review: The idea of having a Nuclear submarine on the loose is simpily brilliant! The detailed descriptions of every aspect provides real adventure. I picked it up and didn't let go. The plot was well laid by Clancy, definitely one of his best books. The movie, based on the book, was not nearly as good as the book itself. The suspenseful climax was neatly placed in a unsuspecting location of the book, a real surprise to the reader.
Rating: Summary: The Cold War brought to life!! Review: Somewhere along the drifts of the Atlantic, the Red October has defected from the Soviets. Captain Ramius hates the Soviet Union and vows never to return. The Soviets and Americans are chasing and competing to bring her home!!
Rating: Summary: Explosive! Review: Tom Clancy has put together an explosive story that grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go! From the first page, and first sentence, you can really tell that this will the most exciting book that you will ever read. I plan on reading the whole Jack Ryan Series, and am anxious to find out what happens in Cardinal of the Kremlin. Once you pick it up, you won't be able to put it down! I spent a full twleve hours reading it and loved it! This is a must read!!!
Rating: Summary: Mind captivating book, will become one of the great oldies!! Review: This title is a "can't put it down" type book. I have now read it 3 times. I highly recommend this book be read by young adults. If you happen to be raising a 16 year old who doesn't like to read, this book might be the one to captivate his/her mind.
Rating: Summary: Definitely one of the best books i've ever read... Review: Absolutely superb... After having seen the film for about 5 times (still got it on cassette) i read this book and it was amazing... till now i've only found one book i liked more and that was Red Storm Rising p.s.: reading both in english was much more interesting than it would have been in german...
Rating: Summary: fantastic!! Review: Not Clancy's best, but pretty close. Cardinal of the Kremlin was his best! If you haven't already seen it, read this before the movie
Rating: Summary: Enthralling story of the Cold War. Review: Tom Clancy has brought another dimension to the techno-thriller: believabilty. If you have seen the movie, then you have absorbed 90% of this book. The story of a submarine captain who realizes that his new sub is to powerful for just one country to have.
If you enjoy Clancy's other novels/movies, then get this book to more fully understand the whole Red October story. If you only have a passing interest in techno-thrillers, stay with the movie.
Rating: Summary: If the lowest review is an 8. And only one 8. Review: Ask yourself should I read it?
If the lowest rateing review is an 8, their is two explinations why: 1: It is a really good book. 2: Only ten people have read the book. Well I would pick the first reason, because more than 1million copies have been sold. I had some really great reveiw but everyone has allready said what I had planed to say. It's onr of the two most liked books that I have ever read. The other, Airframe by Michael Crichton
