Rating: Summary: Good book, but lacks in military accuracy Review: I enjoyed reading this book, and I didn't figure out "whodunit" until near the end of the book. All-in-all, it was a good read and is proboably quite enjoyable for non-military readers. However, being a 13 year enlisted AF member, I was constantly bothered by the inaccurate military language, etc. I was especially annoyed every time the Chief Master Sergeant Jones character was addressed as "Sergeant". Anyone who has been in the Air Force for any amount of time at all knows that the proper address for a Chief Master Sergeant is "Chief".
Rating: Summary: Possibly the worst piece of fiction written in a long time Review: I had hoped to find Mr. Davis' book interesting and suspenseful. Instead I had "the mystery" figured out before the first 50 pages. The absence of knowledge about the Air Force, computer systems, AFOSI and other military practices, procedures and techniques leads me to believe Mr. Davis gets what he knows from television and the movies. Please do yourself a favor and stick to Dale Brown or W.E.B. Griffin and let us hope Mr. Davis finds a new genre upon which to demonstrate his lack of talent.
Rating: Summary: It Passes the "Late-Night Start" Test! Review: I started this book in bed, late at night, and had to force myself to stop reading, hours later. It's fast-paced, and I enjoyed all the inside-Washington, D.C., touches. The book jacket says that Davis was an Air Force major, and planned U-2 surveillance missions, so it makes me wonder how much of this "fiction" might be based on things he's seen?
Rating: Summary: It grabs you by the throat! Review: I started this book on a flight to Chicago. The first few pages had me hooked and I never stopped reading on the 2 hour flight. It's a book you do not want to put down. After landing, I made a sales call and then went to the hotel and finished the book at 2 AM. It's a great read!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Book...It is a MUST in buying books. Review: I think this book is one of the best ones that I have read lately. The whole story line and the outcome is something that I would not have even thought of.For the book lovers out there, this is one of the best books.
Rating: Summary: Great first thriller Review: I was reading John Grisham when I picked up Patrick Davis' THE GENERAL. I think the fact that I never got back to the Grisham until I'd finished Davis' book says it all. (And I'm a Grisham fan.)
Rating: Summary: The General Review: I've read all three of his books and this one is his best one. All of the suspects that Patrick Davis brings up die one by one until there are none left. It was hard for me to put down as I wanted to find out what was on the next page as there he was taking you on a suspenseful ride with twists thrown in. The ending has a surprise twist to it.

Rating: Summary: Fast and Excellent Review: Pat does a fantastic job in his first book. Excellent plot and fast paced throughout. I can't wait for his next book "The Passenger" to come out.
Rating: Summary: Superb!!! Review: Patrick Davis' first novel is a terrific, fast read. From the first page to the last, you get caught up in the story and the characters. Finally, a writer with a military background who doesn't waste alot of time on tedious details; he gets the action going and doesn't let it stop til the very end. Hollywood get ready-this book should definitely be made into a top-notch movie!
