Summary: Two women travel to Houston -- will either survive?
Review: > Irina, a Russian assassin, and Cate, an undercover FBIagent, have both been invited to a meeting in Houston where3 of the world's highest-level thugs are meeting to divvy up the U.S. between them. To survive, each must play the mouse but be the cat. Irina is described as "simply a woman without recourse, which means she is unpredictable, resourceful, and dangerous." As the novel progresses, this could describe Cate as well.
> Requiem is full of suspense with lots of twists. Be aware that it's also filled with sex and violence.

Summary: Happiness is a good David Lindsey book.
Review: Breathtaking doesn't begin to describe this book. Never has an author been able to make us care about what happens to BOTH the antagonist and protagonist with such passion. The fact that they are both women simply adds to the mix. Irina is supposedly the bad girl here, but you can't help but feel compassion for her. I applauded her ingenuity and expertise at her chosen craft and was surprised to find myself pulling for the criminial. Then along comes Cate and you're pulling for her to succeed. My heart went back and forth between the two, as Cate gained Irina's strength and Irina gained some of Cate's sensitivity. You want both of these women to find a way out and to be happy, but of course something has to give. Someone has to lose the battle of good vs. evil. The ending had me nearly in tears, and yet somehow it all seemed fitting. Never will I be able to eat a grape again without thinking of this book. Bravo Mr. Lindsey. Bring on your next herione.

Summary: An awesome book
Review: David Lindsay created an extremely complex book that jumps from here to there in a way the reader can follow even at 2 in the morning. Wonderful character development, a little too much effort on the plot, and even thought-provoking.

Summary: The Best David Lindsey Since Mercy
Review: I always thought that Mercy was one of the better thrillers I had ever read. I waited with baited breath for another Lindsey book up to this standard.Well, it is here in Requiem for a Glass Heart. David Lindsey has developed two leading characters, Irina and Cate, who are vibrant, intellegent, sexy and very complex. I don't usually go out of my way to read thrillers with women lead figures (sorry about this bit of sexism)but I was enthralled by international assasin Irina and FBI agent Cate and how their lives came together. The worlwide settings added to intrigue of the story as well. The worst thing that happed to me while reading Requiem for a Glass Heart was my airplane landing home on Friday night with just over thirty pages to go. I had to sit in the terminal and finish the story of Irina and Cate before driving home after a long week on the road. That is true testiment to the writing skills of Mr. Lindsey.

Summary: Better Than Ever
Review: I have just finished reading this book in one sitting. Such was its interest that I just could not put it down. Like a good Humphrey Bogart movie once started it just kept going. I consider Mercy by same author a masterpiece of its gendre. THe only comparable author is John La Carre but I find Lindsey a far more interesting writer who tells a much better story. The aspect of the book that I liked most is Lindsey's ability to paint a large canvas; his villains are that bad and stride over continents. He always impresses me with his scolarship in both crime and art history. At his best he can develop beleivable charecters; Cate has my sympathy and interest as does her Russian counterpart Irene. Without getting into detail which is covered by other reviews this was a really good read.

Summary: Loved it
Review: I just wanted to say that this is one of favorite books and that it will keep you on the edge of your seat 'till the end.

Summary: Thumbs up but don't wait for the movie...
Review: I love David Lindsey's books and I was a little reluctant to read this one because his usual protagonist, Stuart Haydon, was not the protagonist. That said, I was very pleased with this book and echo what was said in the other reviews. For some reason, I prefer male protagonists, but I was able to relate to both the protagonist and the sympathetic antagonist women in this book. GUYS WILL LIKE THIS BOOK. On a side note, however, I was told at my favorite bookstore (Murder Ink in NYC) "good news, bad news" -- good news is that the movie rights have reportedly been bought -- bad news is by DEMI MOORE. Not a good fit. But read this book, you won't regret it.

Summary: predictable but worth the read
Review: I really liked this book. I admit I was able to see how it would all play out but enjoyed the ride anyway. Irina is the likeable lady killer and Cate the undercover FBI agent/ friend. I thought the story was fun and I enjoyed the character of Wei the chinese mafia don. There are no real surprises in this book and the ending was obvious but the writing is swift and entertaining and the players memorable. Not for brain surgeons but not for the challenged either. Fun summer reading.

Summary: Great book - more "female friendly" than Haydon series
Review: I think this book will appeal to women more than Lindsey's Stuart Haydon books. I read two of them and was not impressed, but this book and Mercy I could get into. The ending was a bit sappy, but it's easily overlooked. I highly recommend it.
