Summary: Terrific suspense!
Review: Lynne Heitman has done it again. She has written a story I couldn't put down. Lynne Heitman has a real gift for creating fast paced thrillers that pull you into the lives of her characters. After reading Hard Landing and Tarmac I feel I know Alex Shanahan and care about what happens to her next. The only thing bad about Tarmac was finishing it. I can't wait for her next book to come out. If you are looking to read a fast paced credible mystery this is it!

Summary: Great story, unforgettable characters, can't wait for more
Review: Lynne Heitman really knows how to knock off some socks. Tarmac is a great mystery that includes a heroine so real that I wondered, after the book was over, what Alex is doing right now.

About a third of the way into the book Alex Shanahan follows a suspect down a dark Florida road and an action sequence kicks in that grabs you by the throat and won't let go. The set-up to the mystery is elegant but the action -- and the characters -- really hooked me. The intensity only tightens until it's like a gun pointed at your head. I couldn't stop reading after the half-way point, and that's my favorite kind of story. Best of all, I didn't want the book to end when it was over.

I'll be waiting impatiently for the next in the series to arrive. Don't miss this one, it's a keeper.

Summary: As Creepy As a Night Alone in the Everglades
Review: Lynne Heitman's behind-the-scenes detail about the airline industry makes your skin crawl, and when Alex Shanahan is up to her neck in alligators (or nasty dogs), you're feeling just as threatened as she is.

After reading a Heitman book, it can be a bit difficult to get to sleep, but it's worth it.

Summary: Hooked on Tarmac
Review: Lynne Heitman's TARMAC is a great read from the very beginning. I was completely hooked by the end of the first chapter and the ride to the very end was excellent.

Her character, "Alex Shannihan" is great and very absorbing. I found the combination of the airline industry, set in Miami, complicated by some very bad guys, a great thriller. It was definitely one of those books that I found myself stealing any few moments to read a couple more pages and stayed up way too late in order to finish reading it.

TARMAC is one of my favorite books I have read in years!

Summary: Tarmac
Review: Second in a great mystery series, Tarmac takes you into the realm of stolen aircraft parts, drugs and murder. The lead charater in the series is Alex Shanahan, a airline executive with a nose for business and detective work. In Tarmac, she investigates a friend's murder in Miami. With the assistance of a former FBI agent and a quirky computer hack, the heroine courageously takes on the FBI, drug lords, and the airline 'old boy' system.

The author, a former airline executive, gives you some 'inside' information about the airlines, such as the large blackmarket on airline parts. In Tarmac, you get to know more about Alex and what makes her tick. The other characters in the book are interesting and at the end you hope to see them in future books.

I really loved the book and look forward to reading Lynne Heitman's next installment of Alex Shanahan's adventures.

Summary: A Good Read
Review: So often, a second book from a new author is a let down. TARMAC, if possible, is even better than Heitman's first. Alex Shanahan is a fascinating character and the more Heitman reveals the layers of her heroine's personality, the more compelling she becomes. The story is completely satisfying and I love Alex's dry wit and self-deprecating humor. Heitman is an author to enjoy for the long term and I hope she writes many more novels.

Summary: Tarmac was Terrific!
Review: Tarmac is wonderful thriller with a complex plot that will keep you guessing until the last page. Heitman has a wonderful ability to transport the reader into the very different worlds of the FBI, airport operations, the Miami underworld, and high finance. The main character, Alex Shannahan gets more interesting with each book and I can't wait for the next one.

Summary: Tarmac Keeps You on the Edge of Your Seat
Review: Tarmac takes you on an amazing journey that leads through the creepy underworld of used airplane parts. The characters are believable and very real. From the world of high finance to the underworld of used parts, Heitman sets a pace that is sure to keep you reading far into the night.

I liked seeing Alex progress from her first appearance in Hard Landing to the more street smart person she becomes by the time Tarmac ends. I couldn't put it down, and I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a fast-paced, well-written thriller.
