Summary: Fun to read but flawed
Review:

I enjoyed the story. The characters were interesting and very credible, and there were unexpected plot developments. However, if you are familiar with The Pelican Brief and/or The Manchurian Candidate, you will see strong similarities. Also, in view of the fact that author is an attorney, it is surprising that he depicts the U.S. Supreme Court as a government entity that passes laws. Nevertheless, it's a good read.

Summary: Invigorating, non-stop suspense and just excellent reading!
Review: From page 1 to 355, it had my attention. I had no idea that I would enjoy the book as much as I did. When I first heard about the book, while driving on the NJ-Turnpike, Sybil from the Tom Joyner Morning Show (WDAS-FM 105.3) stated that it was definitely a book to read. I kept repeating the title and author in my head until I got to the nearest rest stop. Once I started reading the book, I was amazed how I couldn't put the book down! I had not read any of Gary Hardwick's books, but I was definitely surprised and impressed with his writing and ability to keep the suspense and plot boiling. I like how he was able to keep each character linked to the plot and how each and every name he mentioned was someone who had a significant role, no matter how brief or long they remained in the story. His flair for keeping things "real" about what happens in the streets, a marriage, with friends, family and colleagues when one rises to the top, gave the book life. I remember reading a few of John Grisham's books and thinking, wow, these are good. In Grisham's books he is always keeping things moving, as well as you thinking and asking, what's next? When I read Gary Hardwick's book, I felt the same way, inspired to read another. I love reading a book that gets you angry, happy, reacting to the characters, making you laugh and thinking, what's going to happen next. At times, the suspense is so thick and compelling that you know you have to get up in the morning, but you keep reading hoping you can get to part where you can stop until tomorrow. Let me tell you, it's hard with this book. The intensity with which Mr. Hardwick writes and his art of describing things in detail gives the book that true sense of suspense. I TRULY enjoyed the book. I told friends and family to get to their nearest bookstore or library. It is something they will definitely enjoy and pass on to others. Speaking of such, I'm off to the bookstore to get another Gary Hardwick novel.

Summary: Mesmerized
Review: Gary Hardwick is to be commended for such an inspiring novel of suspense! It held my attention from the anterior to the posterior! I loved the way he created his chapters. They were short and concise and very interesting! I recently placed my order for Cold Medina and Double Dead with Amazon! I can hardly wait to read The Color of Justice when it arrives!

Summary: Fast and Absolutely Intense!
Review: Hardwick, is one of the few black authors out, today, that gives you what readers are truly looking for- ORIGINALITY. His books are fast, suspense driven, eventful and the twist and turns in each are unpredictable, so much so, that you eagerly turn page after page anticipating the next move. I thoroughly enjoyed, Supreme Justice. I felt obligated to purchase Double Dead and was just as pleased. His style is like a gush of wind on a wintery night! It wakes you, enegizes you, and startles the mind ! I can't wait to read his next effort.

Summary: EXCELLENT!
Review: Having read all of Gary Hardwick's previous books, "Supreme Justice" did not disappoint. The main plot about the murder of a Supreme Court justice that sounds suspiciously like Clarence Thomas was just the beginning.

Without giving away too much of the plot, the author's rich characterizations and vivid descriptions of Detroit, took me there and then some. It's what makes Gary Hardwick one of my favorite authors. And yes, I could easily see this book as a movie but am in a quandry because I can't decide who I'd like to see as the twins Marshall and Moses Jackson!

I can hardly wait for the next book but am resigned to the fact I have no choice.

Summary: Great Book
Review: I am a member of a book club and my job is to find quality books, for the club to read. We had never read anything by Gary Hardwick, when I heard him promoting his book on the Tom Joyner Morning Show. I'm so glad that we decided to read this book, because it's truly one of the best books that our club has read. The book has it all, a murder with a twist, an unlikely friendship, feuding brothers and a marriage with real problems. (Just to name a few!)

It's a page turner that really keeps you guessing, while entertaining you. Who needs "Law & Order", "The Practice" & "NYPD BLue", when you can read SUPREME JUSTICE!

My only problem with this book, is that I read it to fast. So, I guess I'll have to do a little research on some of his other books, to present to the group.

Summary: A Great read!!!
Review: I had a hard time putting it down! From start to finish this book was great! Hardwick does a great job of keeping the readers interest!

Summary: Good Plot ....but lacked detail
Review: I have mixed feelings about the book. My overall rating is 2.5 out of 5. I think the author had a very good storyline with several plots going on simultaneously. This made the book very suspenseful. However, I believe the author had two weaknesses (1) I do not believe the author was descriptive enough when writing the love scenes between the Mashall and his wife. In other words, the author lacked depth in describing the romantic aspects between the husband and wife. There were parts of the book where it clear that a man is writing. The author should be able to describe the scene so that the reader can feel the scene whether they are male or female. (2) The vocabulary used was not challenging and at times seemed too simplistic.

However, overall I think the book was provoking enough to keep my attention...I read 200 pages in one day!

Summary: Great Fun
Review: I particularly enjoyed this book because I too was born and raised in Detroit and am a practicing attorney now living in California. The action was great and the plot good. However, the characters were what made this book soar. I loved Danny and his unorthodox ways. He reminded me of a "bull in a China shop". I also liked the character of Moses and would like to have seen him play a little bit more of a role in the novel.I also enjoyed the dialogue between the characters. Although I thought Marshall was a little too conservative, it was probably necessary given his profession yet he and Danny played off of each other very well. TO THE AUTHOR: I WOULD REALLY LOVE TO SEE A SEQUEL OF THIS NOVEL.

Summary: Suspense and Love - The Perfect Combination
Review: I was in the market for a book full of suspense, intricate sub plots, a little romance, and well-developed characters. This book delivered on all but one--well-developed characters. I could visualize and "feel" the actions of many of the supporting characters such as Danny, Moses, and Chemin. Moses, the twin brother, was downright scary. However, the main character, Marshall, seemed bland and boring. He was not described in sufficient depth for me to feel anguish during his challenges, joy for his triumphs, or sadness during his downfalls.

On the positive side, the well written story and all of the supporting characters made up for a lacking main character. The relationship between Marshall and his wife, Chemin, added just the right amount of romance to balance the story.

The book also portrays African Americans as as professional, mature adults.

If you like John Grisham and James Patterson, you will love Hardwick!
