Summary: A Good Book, With Few Problems
Review: I just finished reading this book "The Lies of George W. Bush" (which is like the first book I've read completely in an extremely long time). Here is my review of it:

This book, more than a pyschological explanation of a pathological liar is a compendium of George W. Bush's lies. From before he was governer to just last year (2003), Bush has lied to get his way and to influence public opinion towards his point of view. Often times, as the book points out, it is not necessarily his lies that need to be noted but his administrations or his aides. Additionally, the author also points out that his lies aren't always straight-out lies but often bending the truth, bad facts or misstatements. Finally, some of his sources are questionable as they are listed as just "sources" or "informants" etc but for most of what he says, he provides adequate bibliography. Finally, he points out in some places that George Bush has been right sometimes and that he is not the first president to lie (and includes some lies of Democratic presidents such as Johnson and Clinton).

Nevertheless, this book does a pretty good job of covering what all George W. Bush has lied about and done to hurt this nation and the world. I urge every liberal to read this and learn more and so they can get the ammo to successfully get rid of Bush in 2004 and dare every conservative (in the words of Arianna Huffington from the back cover) to read this book and either argue out what Corn says or maybe think for themself and question whether Bush represents their values.

Summary: Absolutely absurd!
Review: Out of the whole rash of "Hate Bush" books, this is just about the most ridicules. If Mr. Corn thinks his book is going to make him rich, he's nuts. His book about "lies" is filled with "lies." Corn is not only a Bush hater, he's an America hater. He belongs in a rat hole with Saddam Hussein. I suggest everyone browse Corn's jibberish just for the entertainment value.

Summary: This should be bestseller of the decade!
Review: It is so nice to finally get the truth about anything involving this BOGUS administration!
Thank you so much David Korn for putting things in perspective.
We hope to hear much more from you soon.
These pages are the words of a TRUE American patriot!!

Summary: EEEK, its worse than I thought
Review: A given should be that this book like all of its sort is preaching to the quire. Given that, what great preachers. These guys have so many examples of the strange patterns of this weird president, its a bit depressing. Well worth reading..oh and very well written.

Summary: Really the Lies of David Corn
Review: This book should really be called the Lies of David Corn. Read the Boston Globe and see the quotes by Bush's commanding officer about whether he was AWOL or not. See what they say about him taking physicals and fulfilling his full tour of duty. He was rated in the top 5% of Officers by his commanders, would this occur if he was an AWOL Felon?

There are no facts in this book, just lies and deceit. Where are the footnotes? Where are the endnotes? Did David Corn place copies of the real military records of G.W. or did he use hyperbole and libel on page after page after page?

David Corn is the liar, NOT G.W. Bush. Only the sad and desperate would take the word of this ideological author. Warm yourself with the lies Dear Bush Haters, it's all you have. Comfort yourself with this book because the truth will set you free but your desire for hate will never give you the truth.

Summary: must be a great poker player
Review: According to some observers, Bush can tell a lie with the aplomb of a great poker player. You would swear he was telling you the straight and narrow, until, after so many of his lies have come to light that the people just figure that if his says its this way then you figure it must be the other way. It would be funny, but the lies have just about destroyed this country and makes you wonder if it is on purpose or if he and his administration are just that inept. Corn does a wonderful job of gathering together into one book a good collection of those lies and displaying them to the public.

Several other authors have also covered some of the same things but not quite in the same manner, like-Franken, Ivens, Conason, Moore and then there's the book by J.H. Hatfield, "Fortunate Son: George W. Bush and the Making of an American President" (a book they tried to ban and even threatened the author). It is an excellent biography of dubya and is not as biased as many of the other authors, but gives you a good idea of who he is and how he operates. After reading this book, Corn will open your eyes and make you think twice before you believe anything Bush says from now on.

Summary: Please read me in these very scary times
Review: During the 2000 presidential election, candidate Bush had the nerve to insist that he was the remedy to Washington politics. A gullible minority of American voters, Florida election officials and the United States Supreme Court actually believed him....placing us where they are now.

Bush's only previous political experience was serving as Texas Governor (a figurehead position with no actual power) but his family was savvy enough to surround him with people who knew how to skillfully manipulate images to their benefit.

With the news now attempting to play catch-up critic on the war in Iraq, it is a painful revelation for many Bushies their former 'golden-boy' has signifigant tarnish, and this particular tarnish is endangering the country. If character is supposedly a critical personal component for the Commander in Chief, it naturally begs that the same individual would not fabricate evidence about a war---- including the war itself.

Hundreds of millitary members have given their lives so Bush could further exploit the initial support from the 9/11 attacks (themselves now comming under suspicion) and do whatever he wanted when ever he wanted. Because of his fame and wealth, he viewed the presidency not as a responsibility or a honor but an entitlement. Because he is the president, he is allowed to wreck the country in his own immage.

This also explains why people within the president's own party (normally a politically no-no for a 'wartime president') are openly challening him on policy issues they were once content to go along with. Bush may have the 2004 Republican nomination at this point, but if political developments are suggesting anything---the nominating process itself will hardly be set.

Summary: It's about time!
Review: Finally, books like this one are beginning to appear that discuss the blatant dishonesty of the Bush administration. This is really scary stuff - truly Orwellian. Examples are in the paper almost every day. If Clinton did even one of the things discussed in this book, the conservative machine would have crucified him! Why isn't the press talking about this stuff?! (I guess it's because they're so darn liberal...) Highly recommended - impossible to ignore.

Summary: It is about time
Review: This is a refreshing insight into what has been the most misleading administration in recent history. While politics has always been somewhat dishonest, Bush's abuse of misinformation is handled in a balanced, fair but shocking (to those who haven't caught on yet) piece of literature. Hopefully this text will prompt some sort of response from the media, which has been extraordinarily silent about the President's many half-truths and down right lies.

Summary: The Refreshing but Frightening Truth
Review: This is a very well written account of W's deceitful ways, starting during his campaign and continuing through his presidency. The author does an excellent job of presenting the facts and laying out the political pressures from both supporters and oponents. He focuses on the most important issues (which is good because otherwise the book would never end) and backs up his statements with undeniable research. It's an informative, although very scary, read. There is no arguing with the well-supported conclusions of this book.
