Rating: Summary: They'll Let Anybody Write a Book Review: I'm absolutely astonished that people would buy this trash. If it were possible to give this negative stars, I would. The pieces of it that I have read (of course I wouldn't dare pay for and support this nonsense) were an absolute abortion. Words can't describe how amazingly bad this really is. Bill O'Reilly is the reason there's a way to turn off televisions or at least change the station (yeah, like any self-respecting individual would be caught dead watching Fox News in the first place).
Rating: Summary: Duh!! Review: A real intellectual wins the arguement through logic and rationale, not by volume level....where does "Mr. Bill" learn his strategies?? Maybe he didn't pass "Introduction to speech" in Junior College...poor guy...
Rating: Summary: Why isn't their a "trash" rating? Review: Bill O'Reilly is simply an egotistical whiner and should really sit down to self-evaluate his personality (oh wait, he doesn't know how to, but he has the nerve to tell all Americans they should).
I for one am not buying into his useless diatribe and if you don't like what I have to say about you Bill, well that's too bad. Shall I introduce you to the first amendment?
Rating: Summary: Under fire for speaking his mind Review: Love him or hate him, Mr. O'Reilly's book fills a void. That, in and of itself, makes it noteworthy. This book points out some of the inequities in the American political and social landscape. His is an interesting and different "voice" in the world of the print and broadcast media. Although I do not always agree with the ideas presented in this book, it is an excellent read and I recommend it. James Green, author of "If There's One Thing I've Learned."
Rating: Summary: A few home runs, a few strikeouts... Review: It's hard to pin down Bill O'Riley's political leanings. He's most definately not a liberal, but he also won't tote the line for conservatives or libertarians either. From his stance against the death penalty and his support for strict environmental controls to his support for harsher punishments for drug pushers (and ironically his support for the legalization of marijuana), O'Riley's opinions seem to randomly fall all over the map. Is he nuanced or just confused? You decide.
The book, much like O'Riley's show, is split up into bite-sized snippets mostly featuring 3 or 4 statements from a guest and a few paragraphs of Bill trying to persuade you he won the argument. Even with his home-field advantage, many times he didn't. Most of the chapters--like his show segments--are too short to give any real depth to the discussion. He basically drops a few generalizations before segueing to the next topic.
This was an easy and somewhat entertaining read, but I don't believe O'Riley gave enough effort to support his own points and refute those of his guests. No-Spin Zone is decent liesure reading, but for those in search of hard-hitting political commentary, you should look elsewhere.
Rating: Summary: A good book, if you like O'Reilly. Review: You know what? I'm sick of morons reviewing the man instead of the book. The review system is here to provide honest opinions to people who are interested in buying the product.
Stop reviewing the man, start reviewing the book! You idiots who flame O'Reilly aren't doing anything other than making yourselves look foolish.
Rating: Summary: Bill O'Reilly=possibly the greatest mind in America Review: The sole purpose of this review is to lambast the moron who ACTUALLY said "Thanks, Bill, for showing us how biased mainstream media can be...blah blah blah blah..." or something along that line. Bill O'Reilly's show appears on possibly the most biased piece of media in existence (other than my hometown newspaper): FOX News. I wouldn't believe FOX News if they told me that I was sitting on my couch eating Doritos even if I was. I wouldn't believe most news programs in general. Think for yourselves, people, just like Bill tells you to. But Bill's telling you to do that, so you're not really thinking for yourselves...what a paradox. Isn't it great that Bill "sticks to his guns," just like good ol' Dubya? Isn't that kind of a "redneck" nickname anyways? Personally, I would be rather embarrassed if my supporters "supported" me by sporting a button with that name on it. Anyways, Bush always sticks to his side, never changing it. He goes down with the ship, there's no attempt to try to save his miserable plans, he sticks with them to show how loyal and consistent he is. Isn't it a good idea to try something else if one idea does not work? You'd think it would be obvious, especially to someone who is (sarcasm on) very smart, because he has obtained the office of President of the United States very fairly. Bush was also the Governor of Texas! He must practically be a genius! (sarcasm off). Oh wait, I forgot. Whoever has the most cattle gets elected. Sorry for the slip-up.
I am rather "left" as the review below states...but I don't believe 9/11 was Bush's fault. I don't think he actually called up Bin Laden and said "Hey, why don't you send a couple guys over to take down some buildings, then we can have a sleepover and cuddle while we watch FOX." I think he could have done a better job handling it, especially with the information it has been said that he had prior to 9/11.
Who else thinks Bill's favorite phrase, "fair and balanced," is preaching to the choir? Practice what you preach, Bill. I would burn Bill's book and soak in the warmth of the flames in the middle of the desert; it would be worth it. Bill's book is possibly the most disgustingly biased pieces of literature(if it can even be called that) to ever come out in print. It almost makes me wish the printing press had never been invented, just so Bill's book could not subvert and brainwash millions of people.
As the review below states, "America is going downhill fast. I love America, but I lose faith in Americans." Well, at least this moron said something that makes sense. America and everything it stands for is beautiful. But people have been corrupted, either by stupidity or general ignorance/laziness. People are too lazy to figure things outfor themselves; they just accept what FOX tells them. Think there's a connection between rednecks being Republican and FOX being on basic cable? I would have to guess that there is, because these rednecks most likely do not have extended cable, and are subjected solely to the babbling inconsistencies presented by FOX.
This book can be summed up in seven words: a partisan and slanted piece of trash.
Rating: Summary: How ironic..... Review: This is quite an entertaining thing indeed. I always love being talked down to by an smug, condiscending arse-hole who claims to attack the "evil" and "the elite." I wonder if anyone else finds it comical that he can associate himself with "the working man" while wearing a $5000 suit and saying he is "against the media and the wealthy elite" all-the-while working for, of all places, FOX news. My suggestion: buy this book, read it, and when you finish gagging/dry-heaving throw it away and stick a sharp pencil in your eye so that maybe, just maybe you can forget about it.
Rating: Summary: Excellent for the Bathroom Review: Mr. O'Reilly's book is very helpful. I recommend you place it someplace useful like the bathroom. It will serve a duel purpose there: 1) it will scare guest into finishing their business rather quickly and 2) it will cut down on your toilet paper use. This book also can double as a fire starter. I would recommend this because this will increase the value of the book. The book can also be used to clean-up spills and wrap Christmas presents in. I caution using it as gift wrap for little children for they will be too scared to get close enough to open it. In short if you are planning on reading this book, don't. This will save you time and give you a chance to use it for its intended purpose as toilet paper.
Rating: Summary: I have a more appropriate title for this book Review: It should be called "The Nobody Else's Spin but O'Reilly's Zone". What I find comical about Bill O'Reilly is that he claims that his show is free of spin, then proceeds to put his spin on current events. News flash for everyone, that is what pundits do, they put their own spin on the news. He gets one more star because, love him or hate him, he does have guts and he stands up for what he believes. However, I would like him a lot better if he would come off of his claim that he is independent, and reports the news with no spin. Both claims are bogus. Don't be fooled into expecting this book to be a bipartisan account of things. It is merely conservative pundit Bill O'Reilly telling you his opinions, nothing more.
