Rating: Summary: It's Very Simple Review: 'Black pride' wanted to tell me to call the author a 'sellout','uncle Tom Scum', or 'a hater'. But the truth is the truth is the truth is the truth. After reading 'Treason' and 'Slander'(by Ann Coulter), I found it easier to believe the exploits of Americans who migrated to America from European nations. Peterson only placed emphasis on personalities of which I better identify. God knows if all that Peterson exposes about the accused is accurate. In fact, I am glad that God does know, because in time God will judge. It's very simple!
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Brilliant Review: ( I am an Indian ( Asian ) immigrant who chose USA to be my country. I do not consider myself to be an American-Indian/Indian/Indian-American etc. )
What is surprising me is the fact that a lot of the mentalities Peterson mentions are also prevalent in the Indian communities - victim of racism mentality, Indocentric views, hatred towards whites etc.
Most of them will openly say in an Indian gathering that "Im here just for the money. Otherwise I hate this place". ( Like Peterson notices they say another thing when Americans are present - "I am a liberal" )
What is hypocritical about the Indian community is the fact that though most of them will give you enough testimonies to prove themselves to be the victims of racism. On the other hand they will never say anything good about blacks. Their complaint about racism is only limited to them being treated as equals by whites. Very few of them will allow their children to date a Black kid.
This is a book every Indian should read.
Not only is this a brilliantly written book, but also a very well researched one.
Obviously Peterson and his efforts with his BOND organization are very laudable.
I am also writing a check today to BOND.
I can only wish that there will be at least one leader with half the courage of Peterson, in the Indian community who will have the guts to call a spade a spade.
Rating: Summary: How "Black leaders" keep blacks down Review: A fantastic expose of how Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farakhan and other "black leaders" profit by keeping blacks down and keeping them slaves to the government welfare plantation. Jesse Lee Peterson does a fantastic job of showing how these so-called "civil rights" leaders exploit poor black Americans for the benefit of these "leaders."
Rating: Summary: What a Refreshing Read! Review: As a life-long Democratic, I am saddened that our party leadership ignores men like Rev. Peterson. The message in his book is insightful and right on target. Unfortunately, our party leaders suffer much like the folks who once said that "the emperor had no clothes." I am embarrassed that we exalt the likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and totally discount other black leaders of Rev. Peterson's ilk.
Rating: Summary: Misperceptions Review: Before saying anything else, I would like to thank Reverend Jesse Lee Peterson for correcting a misperception I once had. Previous to reading Scam, I would read and see small excerpts about Booker T. Washington and George Washington Carver, and I would attach to them my own modern day misperceptions. These two were both called black leaders of their day, in the documentaries and historical books I would read. These two men were great leaders of the black man that encouraged the elevation of the individual through hard work and morality. There was a time where I even attached this modern day Farrakhan/Jackson misperception to Martin Luther King, but that was quickly dispelled by the plethora of material out there about MLK. Carver and Washington are not so well represented in print or media. Reverend Peterson does a great job of informing his reader that Washington and Carver were great individual men who attempted to lead their people to individual greatness. Based on this premise, Peterson criticizes Jackson and Farrakhan through comparative analysis. He also invokes the name of the great one, MLK, many times. He makes one wonder where the black man would be if MLK had lived, or even if an upstanding, righteous man had taken the helm after MLK's passing. Where would we all be? Reverend Peterson claims that if the black man, the black woman and the black family were in better shape? Would our society would be in better shape? Peterson does not bring you this material from the perspective of a distant theoretician, rather he provides you with material he has discerned from the various counseling sessions he has provided to young men and women in his group called BOND. Most Americans, myself included, take a lot for granted. We are the greatest nation in the world, we will always overcome the obstacles before us, and freedom is an institution that we have perfected will always have. This is similar to our belief that we are all invincible human beings, and that we can fill our body and minds with all kinds of poison for short term satisfaction. Yet these same poisons can weaken the human body and make it susceptible to illness and cancer, just as the poisons of thought and short term fixes can weaken America and make it susceptible to ruin. Peterson claims that the black man is the heart of America, and that heart is not well. There are parts of this book I do not agree with, such as the concretized hierarchy of the family that he repeats ad nauseum, but overall this book is alarming and eye opening. All politics is local in America, and we're not going to be here forever...it's time we starting fixing our lives and our nation. Reverend Peterson does a great job of providing us a blueprint for step one.
Rating: Summary: Disgusting Uncle Tom filth Review: Black people who lick the boots of Whites will love this book. White racists who want their hate to be vindicated by a person of color will also cherish this book as you can see from the other reveiws. But if you see Black people as human beings, then don't even bother, you won't find any indication in this book that blacks even deserve to live. This kind of trash is extremely dangerous and is going to lead to lots of hate crimes in the future. White racists adore this kind of propaganda and when they are finished reading it they want to take action and destroy some lives. If you want some spiritual guidance you won't find it in this blood drenched book. Try reading the Bible instead.
Rating: Summary: Brilliant and sad Review: Brilliant for the good information.
Sad because the black community is being disserved by short sided so-called leaders.
Rating: Summary: Color Blind America ¿ an achievable task? Review: Can you imagine the look on the face of the bookstore clerk, when a white boy like myself comes up to the counter with book such as this? Furthermore proving that the Political Correctness is getting out of control, and in some sense is doubling as a censorship institution. What just because I am white, I cannot have views and opinions of other Americans?Rev. Peterson lays it out as it is, he does not sugarcoat it. He exposes the self-elected "leadership" for what it really is: a bunch of parasites thriving on the suffering of their own people. One could, rightfully so, call that "leadership" the Nazis of the 21st Century. With their goon squadrons ready to impose fear on anyone threatening their personal well-being and prosperous futures. A "leadership" with ties to the criminal underground and Clinton's White House all at the same time. Rev. Peterson exposes the conspiracy, backing the discovery with the hard facts. And unlike others, the author has a plan to overcome the struggles of Black Americans. The book is well written, contrary to some of the reviewers before me. The only one minor complaint that I have is that sometimes the book reads as informative/fundraising pamphlet for the BOND organization. Regardless, the book is a must read for every American. Just make sure you remove the jacket of the book before you read it in public. Finally, I want to point out that if you are writing the review of the book, please do write about the book, instead of attacking the author. Such practice I believe, would be classified as a genetic fallacy, ad hominem abusive to be exact, which just to refresh everyone's memory goes something like: "...attempt to disparage the character of the person presenting the argument, to deny that person's intelligence, or to question his/her integrity, while not addressing the statements or arguments being presented..." Wow, one learns something new everyday.
Rating: Summary: Amazon playing with the Liberals? Review: Excellent book. Well written, and easy for the reader to understand . This has gotten only one bad review and a whole bunch of good reviews, but Amazon shows only 1 out 5 stars. Makes you wanna go hmmm.....
Rating: Summary: Goes into territory few choose to tread Review: Finally a book that lays out the real story in the black community without flinching. The courage that it must have taken for a black man to confront these things is unbelieveable! Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson goes right for the top leaders like Jackson, Sharpton, Farrakhan. But he goes way beyond that, getting into territory few choose to tread. Like the crooked preachers. They've been untouchable till now. He deals with fearful whites, angry black men, and dare I say--real angry black women--now that's real courage! All in all a fantastic read--real truth--even potentially life changing truth.
