Summary: An important read
Review: This is a very good read. It is to me one book that everyone should read. However there are things that are stoping me from giving it five stars. one she takes way way too much credit. Two every agency has messed up according to her. i doubt this if they were as bad as she makes out to be, we would have been attacked pretty daily. that being said it is a very good read.

Summary: US Terrorism, Open Sources, and Federal Ineptitude
Review:

WARNING NOTICE: Reliable sources in the counter-terrorism world inform me that this book is partly fiction in that the author is systematically integrating the accomplishments of others into her story as if they were her own. I have, however, decided to leave my review intact because she tells a very good story and its key points are right on target. I recommend the book for purchase by all--on balance it is a fine contribution.

----

Although there are no endorsements or other means of validating the truth of this book, and "woman with four-children" may be a cover for a hyper-active Israeli man in his mid-20's who is of Arab descent, it reads with enormous credibility, it is loaded with correct references, and its many anecdotes about both the value of public records (open sources) and U.S. federal government ineptitude (especially the FBI but also including State, AID, INS, and the CIA) are in my opinion spot on.

This book is an excellent companion to Steven Emerson's book, AMERICAN JIHAD: The Terrorists Living Among Us. Indeed, it has occurred to me that the anonymous author of this book is, if not working directly for Emerson, then possibly in one of the Jewish-funded research elements that he relies upon for research assistance.

Among the many compelling points that I found to recommend the purchase and reading of this book are:

1) Israeli McCarthyism against any Jew willing to express need for a Palestinian state as part of regional stabilization
2) The Rabin assassination as the Israeli equivalent of the US Kennedy assassination--everyone remembers where they were
3) The vital importance of reading all Islamic charity information in Arabic, where the messages are violent and subversive--English for the fund-raising, Arabic for the incitement to terrorism
4) The catastrophic cost of American naivete pre-9-11 in putting all religious and charitable organizations off limits to US counterintelligence, however inept it might have been
5) The extraordinary utility of public records, not just within the US but from Israel and the Arab states, in nailing down relationships among charitable organizations, Saudi financiers, and specific individual terrorists
6) The extraordinary utility of historical (back ten years) Arabic newsletters and newspapers in nailing threatening statements and jihad intentions of people applying for US citizenship or already US citizens, because the federal government has no clue how to do proper open source research
7) The accuracy of the 1990 predictions of American proponents of jihad who claimed that the US's ultimate intent was to "occupy the Arab and Islamic oil sources"
8) The degree to which African Americans have been pulled into the jihad-aspects of Muslim extremism as practiced and preached in the US
9) The ineptitude of the FBI's "knock knock" neighborhood canvassing approach to basic information, completelely eschewing proper open source research and proper undercover collection
10) The ineptitude of the FBI in particular, but the US government in general, in sharing information about terrorists and their organizations (we are amused to note that Aqil Collins, in My Jihad, is virulent on this topic--evidently one thing both mujahids and Israeli counter-terrorism researchers can agree upon is that the FBI was and remains inept)
11) The suspect loyalties and competence of the FBI liaison to Saudi Arabia, who is of Muslim faith and refused to do proper undercover work against other Muslims while posted in the US
12) The pervasive and deep Saudi financial links to all aspects of US Muslim extremism, to include funding for mosques intended to be centers for radicalization over the long term
13) The early open source literature on how Bin Laden decided to apply his construction expertise to solving both smuggling and storage and protection issues in Afghanistan (we have in other reviews noted the importance of the book on Vietnamese tunnels, titled "The Tunnels of Cu Chi")

As I finished the book, I agreed completely with the author's basic premise, to the effect that open source information about US terrorist and charity ties, properly validated, should be posted to the Internet for all to see. This appears to be the only proper response to continuing federal ineptitude. The author is compelling in stating that in the years since 9-11, very little has improved. The FBI continues to refuse to share, the State Department continues to be incompetent at screening terrorists out (and in one instance, allowed the Agency for International Development to offer funding to a known terrorist organization), the list goes on.

This is a very impressive personal account. The author's proven accomplishments, well-documented in the book, lend credence to the value of open sources and methods in the war on terrorism--and lend credence to the legitimate concerns of citizens who are overly trusting in their federal government, which appears to still be, 2 years after 9-11, massively inept.

Summary: Are You An American? then you should be this one!
Review: TWO THUMBS WAY UP AND 3 CHEERS FOR "ANONYMOUS".
this is one that every American should read. Its important. The much mailgned intelligence agencys, while they have their faults, they are what we have. This woman, an immigrant from Iraq, A jewish woman, who escaped the tyranny of Saddam after tragedy in her family (due to saddam), and fled to Israel, and then on to America. SHe is "America". People who love this country and want to help it stay great should read this one. This author excitedly shows that she is doing something to see that America stays as wonderful as it is.
So, if you care, then read this book and be aware of what could be going on around you. Dont let the terrorists win by taking advantage of out generous natures as Americans.
This was a compelling read for me. ....

Summary: this is horrify you
Review: In the begining the author was a Jewish child from a well to do family in Iraq. They were doomed but didn't want to know it. The family should've left years before but convinced that everything would be eventually fine if they stayed out of the public eye and caused no trouble, they stayed. That was a mistake. The author's father was arrested, tortured and hung. Her mother was shockingly abused and her grandmother was murdered. The family fled to Israel.

After this heartbreaking begining the book doesn't quiet down. The author's years in Israel were happy but eventually she and her husband and kids went to America and oddly enough, that's wear her life got really interesting. Anonymous became a researcher and went undercover at meetings held right here in the United States. What she found out will horrify you.

I was on edge the entire time I was reading this book. It's as griping as any thriller and the description of her handsome young father's last days is almost too painful to read. I kept on reading because the suspense kept building. Once you start you won't want to put it down until the final page.

Summary: Best book I've read in years!
Review: UPS left this book at my door around 3pm and I finally finished it by 4am the next morning! I could not put it down! The most riveting book I have read in years. This gal deserves a Congressional medal for the work she has done uncovering terrorist networks in the US. She's my nomination for the next head of the FBI.

On a shoestring, using public documents and attending Muslim meetings undercover, she unearthed the connections between Hamas and Al-Quaeda long before anyone else. She shows clearly that the real goal of Muslim extremists is the destruction of the West. Their song and dance about getting us out of the Mideast is just a cover for their real intentions.

It addition to her great detective work and intellectual skills, the author's warmth and humanity come across so strongly. I bought the book on Amazon.com after I saw her on 60 Minutes. They should give her a whole hour! In fact, if the networks had any brains, they would make a movie of her life, or, better yet, a series. It would be much more exciting than all the crime shows on TV and it would be about real crimes against humanity.

Summary: A MUST READ!! Best book on Terrorism yet!
Review: This is a superb read and a must for anyone who believes that terrorism is wrong. The author's real life tale reads like a fiction novel, it is amazing that it is a true story. The author truly is a Terrorist Hunter!! She discusses her hunt for Islamic Terorrists - her success in rooting them out here in the United States - as well as the failures of the FBI in combating terrorism. This book will give everyone a better insight on how terrorists operate and what needs to be done to stop them. One of the best books I have ever read. Highly recommended!

Summary: Mesmerizing, gripping story of courage
Review: A real page-turner!! This is the fastest-paced, most riveting biography I've read in years. It is like reading three books in one: the plot is the life of a woman who went through unbelievable suffering as a child, only to emerge strengthened and to do a job that none of us does - or even can dream of doing. The story is as thrilling and amazing as it could get, a real roller-coaster ride. Second, it is an unsettling account of the dangers that lurk inside some of our neighborhoods' least expected places - you'd be shocked to find out what goes on behind closed doors in hotel conference-rooms, for instance. Some of the names and events discussed in this memoir would certainly sound familiar to readers who follow major newspapers, but the depth and the comprehensiveness of the presentation are like I've never seen anywhere else, described as a first-hand account of someone who's obviously unique in her vast knowledge of terrorism - and her unparalleled bravery proven by the way she went to obtain information from where even the government didn't. Among several staggering descriptions of terrorist organizations there is even a history of al-Qaeda that is detailed and amazing and that had taught me a good number of things I didn't know before. The role that the author has had in the war on terrorism, as is clearly evident from the wealth of detail with which she describes the pertinent events and her astounding insight - is beyond admirable. Third, and perhaps most unnerving, is the evidence the author puts forward about some of our most revered government agencies. Her description of the recurrent failures of the FBI is something that will definitely disturb every readers' sleep for quite some time. This courageous author and her incredibly spellbinding tale are a must-read to anyone who likes biographies, is interested in current events, follows the war on terrorism, enjoys reading political thrillers - and practicly to everyone else as well. My book of the year.

Summary: Questionable
Review: Two stars for a fun, but most likely, fictional read. It's entertaining but appears not to be much more than that. This woman seems to give herself a great deal of credit for things she cannot convincingly substantiate. Think Forrest Gump--she is in all the right places at the right times yet hides behind an anonymous facade so that she does not have to answer the hard questions. After reading her book, I caught her on FOX news a couple of times. She seemed to have a difficult time keeping her stories straight.

It sounds like she has a beef with the government by portraying them as inept and childlike. While there may or may not be truth to her allegations, it sounds more like she has a chip on her shoulder, perhaps they never took her as seriously as she takes herself. The reader gets the feeling they are being taken for a ride on an ego that is a bit out of control.

Summary: Radical Chic
Review: TERRORIST HUNTER is an important book on many levels. What is so striking is how disorganized and vainglorious the intelligence agencies are post 9/11. Refusing to collaborate effectively, dismally doubting each other - parts of this book make you want to move to Montana and prepare for Armageddon - which will undoubtedly happen again in the US if the groups in this book follow through on their avowed plans. Remember - they came back to finish off the Trade Center.
On the other hand - books like this prove that there are some brave - one might even say foolhardy folk - who care enough to make a difference. Anonymous may be occasionally blunt and bureaucratically naive - but she's terrific. Stalking down these monsters as they plan their assaults and murders on American soil, using complicated US tax shelters to fund their murderous schemes -she shows how the web of funding has spread across the world and how important it is that Americans wake up to the threat under our collective noses.
I loved this book, it's not a lyrical memoir but it is a clarion call to the dozy and uninformed. Read it and let your politicians know you've read it. We can't afford any more tragedies. Especially now we know how to stop them - hit them in the pocketbook.
