Summary: Best comprehensive guide to federal law enforcement jobs
Review: With the release of this significanr reference volume, Special Agent Ackerman opens the arcane world of federal law enforcement opportunities to the thousands of qualified applicants mired down in what seems an inpenetrable maze. We learn that the majority of high paying federal law enforcement jobs are with lesser known, indeed some downright esoteric agencies.

Additionally, the roads to navigate such a job search are guided by Ackerman's laser beam of position descriptions, agency contacts, and salary and benefit analysis. Most importantly however, this guide instructs the reader how to put together a resume and application which will open the vault to most of the highest paying jobs in law enforcement. Ackerman illustrates that the use of classical resume and career acquisition methods are not adequate to secure these highly prized positions. He guides the reader through the quandry of forms and methodolgy employed by each agency, along with lists of selection criteria, and the generally secretive "buzz words" that selecting officials look for in applications.

This encyclopedia of federal law enforcement jobs is likely to have a far more significant residual effect on federal law enforcement than may have been originally envisioned, however. Clearly the number of highly qualified applicants for many of these positions will greatly increase with the discovery of this book. The result will undoubtedly be of raising the standard of this important profession.
