Summary: The scarriest book I have ever read about The Mafia!!
Review: Muder Machine is by far the most unglamorous, bloddy, and probably most accurate book I have ever read on The Mafia. Most mob books were written from the point of view of one turncoat witness, who I believe tends to downplay their role or glamorize many aspects of being a wiseguy. Jerry Capeci paints the mob for what it is. A collection of viciouse and greedy theives and murderers. The book is essentially three books in one. The story of the brutal Demeo crew who were officailly repsonsible for 75 murders, and probably committed more. The story of Domnick Montiglio and his life growing up in That Life, and detailings of the inner political structure of the Gambino family. Also, it was great to read a mob book which spent alot of time telling the stories of the TRUE HEROES, the tireless police officers and The one DA who dedicate years to bringing down this unholy crew. These people are not movie stars, they are viciouse killers who enjoyed their work. The only reason I do not give the book the full 5 stars, is that so amny different characterss drift in and out of the storyline that it is sometimes difficult to remember just who did what at times. It was such an interesting read however, I will probably reread it, just to get the detials straight. If you like The Mob or just True Crime stories, you will love Murder Machine.

Review: This book definetly sent a chill up my spine. It's the true story of Roy DeMeo and his crew of lethel and violent hitmen. They went out on contract killings all across America, from the mean streets of New York to the sunny coast of Florida. The novel's fascinating stories make you crave to read on. It was a real breezer for me. Read it in less than two weeks. The plot and storyline are all true which makes the book at times almost unbelievable. The book is based on Dominac Montiglio, a boy who turns into a man growing up around the Mafia. He tells the story of the DeMeo gang, or nicknamed, the Murder Machine

Review: Gene Mustain & Jerry Capeci have written a great book.The people come to life as you read about the darker side of human nature.As Roy Demeo and his crew of killers do the dirty work that keeps a crime family running smoothly.Being an enforcer is hard.But this murder machine enjoyed thier job.

Summary: Brutal depiction of a violent crew
Review: This is true horror at it's peak, the Demeo crew were some of the most violent and sinister people that I have ever read about. This book is a look into the lives of gangsters but, it takes it to the next level, this is my favorite book and I have read countless number of mob books, I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in reading about the ruthlessness of the mob. The Demeo crew did things there own way and made a lot of money doing it. They couldn't make a true representation of this book into a movie because nobody would actually beleive it was based on a true story it is just that unbelievable. A must read though nothing compares in mob books.

Review: This Book is good fiction and little else. Dominick Montiglio is the main source of information for the book. The man is a fruad,was never in the Green Berets,was not a Ranger and never in combat. Murder Machine is a good read if you like fiction. But the parts about Montiglio's combat experiences,and military references are puke making. If you read between the lines you'll see that his whole life he's been a bum and a loser. The authors should be ashamed for trying to pass this book off a a true story.

Review: Murder Machine by Gene Mustain and Jerry Capeci examines the most vicious crew inside the Gambino crime family, known as the DeMeo gang. Roy DeMeo served as leader of the crew. The DeMeo gang killed over 200 people during their reign of terror including many innocent citizens. The rules of the family were to only kill other criminals, but Roy ignored this policy many times. Some say that Roy killed out of pleasure because he would cut his victims into small pieces and dispose of the bodies. This became known as the Gemini Method.
Roy had many conflicts in his life. One of those was when Roy's crew ripped off a Cuban drug dealer and a Cuban gang came from Florida to settle the score. The only way for Roy to get the Cuban gang off of his back was to murder his friend Chris Rosenberg. Chris Rosenberg was a small time drug dealer who only sold small amounts of marijuana. Selling drugs was against the rules of the Gambino crime family but Roy, despite this, took Chris under his belt and loaned him money to sell cocaine. Chris made a lot of money and soon he was working for Roy.
Anthony "Nino" Gaggi was Roy's partner. Nino tried to get Roy keep his violent behavior under control, but when Roy was declared a capo no one could manage his actions. Nino was arrested for loan sharking but was released. Latter his nephew, Dominick, turned in Nino and many others in the crew. Growing up, Dominick lived with his Uncle and was introduced to the Mafia. Dominick served in the Vietnam War as a Green Beret. After the war, unable to find a respectable job and against his true desires, Dominick started to work for his uncle and began killing people for Roy. He became an important person in the Gambino crime family. Later, Dominick Montiglio testified against his Uncle and the rest of the crew. Most of the crew was convicted and Roy was murdered. Mustain and Capeci tell the story of true "mafia life" and show that the Mafia is not as glamorous as it appears to be. Action packed and intriguing, Murder Machine is a real life Sopranos.

Review: Hard to put this book down! The authors have written a well-researched book about the most gruesome murderers in Mafia history committed by the DeMeo gang - a brutal gang from the Brooklyn faction of the Gambino family. The authors will make you feel the tension, the fear, and the paranoia that "that life" creates for anyone in it. The story is suspenseful and always interesting. The scariest thing about this book is that it all really happend...

Summary: Want more Mafia?
Review: I read all crime books; true crime and fiction. This book helps a non-Sicilian get a feel for 'Who', 'Where', 'With' and 'When'. Of course there are so many names I felt that I needed to take notes. Nevertheless, it is a disturbing read, but those of us who read this sort of material won't mind.

Summary: Good book but is nightmarish
Review: This is a good book about the most viscious crew in LCN history. Killed at least 75 and perhaps a lot more. John Gotti wouldn't even take the hit on demayo because his crew had to many shooters. It centers around Anothony Gagggi, Dominick Moniglio, and the murder machine crew. Demao is so depraved that even his relatives wanted to exhume his body and dumped out into the street. Good but like the reading of serial killer novel.
