Mitchell's incredibly detailed book on the Rex Krebs murder case is fascinating and provides a much needed breath of fresh air in what has become an increasingly stale genre. There are so many levels to this book that it will stay with you for weeks after you have closed it. Rape, abuse, lax parole reviews, personal safety, and alcoholism are just some of the few topics discussed here. And to top it off, Mitchell has written the first truly scary true crime book in years. I found myself awake at 4:00 AM two nights in a row while reading and could not go to sleep.
